Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

I have often wondered that. Not a grape or nut in sight! I am in uk but I believe they are actually an American thing as I've seen them more on US shows and they're made by Post which I think is American?

I can't blame the banana thing on pregnancy either. I blame my mum brainwashing me as a kid :o

at fellow Grape Nuts fan, glad you are getting connected too yay!

Afreshstartplease · 04/04/2017 15:59

Yes Morrison's says they are produced in the USA. Now I feel less like I live in a bubble!

foxessocks · 04/04/2017 16:06

I've never heard of grape nuts either! Not sure I like the sound of them tbh...

Ta das
Decluttered under the kitchen sink
Swept and mopped kitchen floor
Cleaned downstairs loo (this has reminded me we have a tin of paint for it must get round to doing that!)
Tidied up porch (involved making a pile for dh to put in the garage which has been the same pile for the last several months)
Made cornflake cakes (haven't put any eggs on top as we have decided to just eat the eggs separatelyBlush)
Loaded dishwasher and cleaned kitchen after making the cakes

So glad I made myself get stuff done as I feel justified in a coffee and sit down now! Fish and chips for dinner tonight as can't be bothered to cook anything and dd is off her food anyway but we might be able to tempt her with chips!

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/04/2017 16:27

Welcome shipton I don't have a book,so can't help. I just log in here every day and find out which tasks meant be doing and while away time. Fellow flyers
cag your ds is very funny!!the horrors of going to school!!
foxes big hugs.I remember my dd1 exploding as I got to shops once.nightmare shoulder blades to knees job(still shudders at memory!!)
Ended up swaddled in my cardi!never left home without a change clothes as well nappies and wipes after that(although she never again explodes that badly.I blame the large helping jelly and summer berries I'd scarfed down day before.which reminds mW my eldest sister have an incident her dd after a large helping if rhubarb!mwah hahaha)
afresh you are not alone.never heard them either!!

I did washing up n put washing on.sat down and fell asleepShock

Need crack on and do some bits before make tea

Afreshstartplease · 04/04/2017 16:35

Yay there are other people in my bubble Grin I'm also not sure I like the sound of grape nuts (they sound a bit too healthy)

Things are starting to progress with our house purchase! Waiting on an exchange date!

Kitchen and living room both half decent. Haven't mopped though but TBH I'd rather do it after the DC eat tea!

Cagliostro · 04/04/2017 16:44

TBH they are probably no healthier than regular cereal. I love coco pops and TBH any sugary or chocolatey cereal, apart from at the moment - not being able to face my usual bowl of cereal was one of the first signs I had morning sickness! Blush DS chose Krave (hazelnut version because all other versions are Wrong) in the shopping this week and I want some soooo bad but not sure I can handle it. It's my fave :(

Cagliostro · 04/04/2017 16:45

And YAY with the house stuff! Exciting times!

foxessocks · 04/04/2017 16:57

Sorry forgot to say welcome to shipton and I never knew there was a book so I'm no help!

Zoo I did have a spare babygro but tbh I couldn't face wrangling him into it while he was screaming so much! Luckily his t shirt was at least unscathed!

Cag I've never tried krave but I love chocolate cereal...Might try it!

Dh has got me a chocolate rabbit , think I'll be eating that this evening! He got one for DD too to cheer her up. She seems to be perking up a little...She is chatting non stop. I've realised how quiet she was being!

BluePheasant · 04/04/2017 18:38

Sorry Shipton haven't got a clue about the books but finding the daily missions, routines etc really helpful Smile

Nope. Never heard of grape nuts either!

Sun came out at last so flying got ditched for sitting in the garden Grin

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/04/2017 19:46

cag I like krave dry from the box, ditto cocopops and cheerios.I don't like my nut milk sugary (weirdo,I know)

Lil ones fed,dishes washed
Tray veg roasting to have with pasta and cheese for me n dd2 shortly

Demon dentist finished last night we are now on ratburger(4chapters dispatched)
Lil zoo and ds just gone brush teeth,I head up tuck in(ds reads til near 9)

Not a terribly productive flying day here. Tomorrow is another day!!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/04/2017 20:13

I also have no idea about these grape nuts Smile. Shipton, so sorry, spelt your name wrong earlier, I'm sure either book would be great. There is loads of info on the website too and we do daily links on these threads. Yes SC, it is weird not doing links each night!

Cag, glad your caglets are ok, I think it I almost impossible to keep a pregnancy secret from older children for very long.

Ta da:-
DD1's room looks loads better Smile. Still bits to do but they can be done in 15 min bursts now. The girls caught sight of the Trolls movie on our tv system to buy so I bought it as an incentive (thanks zoo!) as would have ended up getting it at some point I'm sure but they sat and watched it while I finished off. Don't feel too bad as they will be out and about with childminder all day tomorrow so why not have a movie afternoon?

DD1 helped start packed lunches for tomorrow Star

Both asleep now, DD1 just fell asleep.

To do;
Food for DH and I
Laundry check
Before bed routine
De something with all the stuff from DD1's room that is all over our bed!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/04/2017 20:15

Sorry Shepton, was right the first time!

Cagliostro · 04/04/2017 20:43

Well it's harder to regret telling them now. Saying goodnight to DD and she said Love you to me and DH, then said it again while touching my tummy

Setting alarm to ring GP tomorrow at opening time - this morning when I entered the call queue I was #28 Hmm

Cagliostro · 04/04/2017 20:49

Although the cuteness was somewhat shattered when DS wandered back downstairs to show us the scab that had fallen off "because it looks like a scorpion" 😂

I love dry cereal too, particularly Curiously Cinnamon (or to give them their proper old name, Cinnamon Grahams)

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/04/2017 21:07

cag yum yum
ARF at scorpion scab.my ds insists some rice krispies/cornflakes are dinosaur shaped (insert appropriate name dep on shape)I too busy shovelling to notice shapes cereal a mornings can be very busy tbhBlush

Dd2 and i fed.wash up.curled up watch one born ev minute with scoutcat on my lapSmile

mermaidsandunicorns · 04/04/2017 21:29

Aww cag your caglets sound so lovely

Ds1 tried to build a cardboard home for snails in the garden and had a pet snail crawling all over his arm. Wouldn't understand why I wouldn't let him take it inside!!

Two very tired merlets tonight thinks it's going to be a loong holiday

CotswoldStrife · 04/04/2017 23:37

Welcome Shepton, good to have you with us! The Chaos to Clean book is new (like a few days/weeks, really new) and I think it is based on the babysteps we link to. I haven't read it - I do have the Sink Reflections one though which I do re-read occasionally. It is falling apart - I'd like to say that is because I have read it so much but the binding was always a bit dodgy tbh!

Waves to everyone - MN went a bit weird for me then, so I'm going to post the links and leg it! See you about lunchtime tomorrow, I have a craft class tomorrow where I try to be a creative craft type person

I have never tried the Grape Nuts, I think of them as being hard as nails (and from the States, that bit doesn't put me off them though). What do they actually taste of? cardboard

Afresh and zoo Brew for both of you after your early starts.

Ds2 woke at 8.30 last night coughed and was sick down my top, he then came alive and was running riot until 11.30! Thankfully he slept in until 8.20.

I haven't done anything yet this morning but my plan this morning is:
Make beds
Hang washing out
Washload in
Wash up, dry up, shine sink (this is making such a difference)
Clean fridge
Sweep garden
Small pile of ironing - maybe

We are heading out to a country park with friends this afternoon to make the most of the sunshine. I love the sunnier weather, it makes everything seem easier.
