Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Oh the baby just won't stop crying Sad

MercuryRising · 04/04/2017 10:35

Oh no foxes is it worth going for a walk to see if fresh air helps?

Ds2 is still not very happy but I have just got him to sleep so I am hoping he is tired and wakes up in a better mood.

Tada
Kitchen bin emptied
Washing up done and sink shined
Hoovered and mopped floors downstairs
Highchair cleaned
Kitchen sides disinfected

Once ds2 wakes up we all need to get washed and dressed, make beds and then head off out to a country park to burn some energy.

foxessocks · 04/04/2017 11:25

He finally fell asleep so I've put him down in his cot. I do need to get out this afternoon for some fresh air though, we need more calpol! I'm having a cup of tea and then I really must try and do something useful.

Ta das
Daily routine done

To do
Buy calpol
Make cornflake cakes if DD feels up for it later
Do 15 minutes pilates
Tidy porch
Clean downstairs bathroom
Mop kitchen floor
Declutter in kitchen

I'm very unlikely to get all or any of that done but at least I've written down a plan!

Afreshstartplease · 04/04/2017 11:50

WTF are grape nuts?

So I have now done half of last Monday's errands. Was going to do the rest before school pick up but feel mean on dds tired little legs. We were out over two hours this morning constantly walking.

Ta Da

Half errands
Dryer empty (onto floor)
Dryer on
Washer on
Up fed dressed out 840
Living room toys tidied
Living room hoovered

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/04/2017 12:06

I always squirrel away couple spotty bananas.excuse it to make cakes, but help ripen avocados, bananas, any fruit really if pop in a paper bag n twist top n leave day or two.the bananas release ethanol as ripen and it ripens everything else this not remotely helpful as you currently only have unripe ones

I've just got in from community cafe
I made and took down no added sugar vanilla and date muffins and a date and walnut cake(they gave me sstes to use up!!) This morning

Spent from 8 til just now serving /making breakfast.need a sit down as was manic due to council funding for our area(class deprived) need be used up so our church hosting a "week of action". Yesterday litter pick.health not and pamper sessions today,so cafe open til 4(serve lunch 11.30-130,then just drinks and cakes)dd2 has had nails painted a hand massage and in q for hair curled as I left with a friend!!
Tomorrow they have cycle powered smoothie makers, bike checks, scalextrix sets and various other stuff as kids funday.Thurs is murder mystery-help pco solve the crime!!Grin(zoolets keen for that one)

I need fix lunch and have a bit break

Took wash out and as jumpers am go hang airer and hope zoolets don't keep knock off/get them dirty again and tackle the laundry crisis-dd2 on one but last undergarment s and lil zoo coat got very muddy out walk yesterday and less said bout laundry trickling down the stairs the better

Hope things getting a bit better foxes calpol and fresh chocolate supply's are your mission should you get outside!Wink

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/04/2017 12:08

*health m.o.t
(And all sessions are free)

Afreshstartplease · 04/04/2017 12:15

zoo I am so jealous you have all those activities going on and for free! I wish we had something like that here!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/04/2017 13:10

Sounds fab zoo!

Ta da:-
Some progress in DD1's room
Washing now in tumble drier after getting rained on. That reminds me, foxes, I don't iron although I do own a tumble drier. I have to say though that DH irons his shirts and work trousers and anything else that needs to look smart.

To do:
Put away Tesco top up shop - decided that was more sensible than Aldi with both DC!
Lunch
Carry on in DD's room

Have bribed both DDs that if we play in the house and get on with the room today we will do something fun on Friday.

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/04/2017 13:34

too stressy bribe is such an ugly word.incentives, that's the way forwardGrin

I have sat on my bum, eaten a huge bowl of cereal and fruit and really need do some chores.have nasty case CBA setting in.best get on before I get sucked into MN, pinterest etc....

foxessocks · 04/04/2017 13:59

Have acheived aim of chocolate and calpol from the shop! Was a nightmare though. We arrived at supermarket and ds did the biggest poo I've ever seen in my life. I had to throw his vest and trousers away and used an entire pack of wet wipes. There was a queue forming when I finally emerged from the baby change! Then he proceeded to scream all round the shop, and I mean red faced screaming and people probably thought I was horrible as he had a t shirt and a nappy on and that was all. Dd was clinging to me so I couldn't push the buggy and hold calpol etc because she wanted my hand the whole way round. Then I got back to the car and smacked my front tooth on the car door!

Both children fell asleep on the way home but ds woke up the minute I pulled up at home! Just as I was about to eat some chocolate too.

But at least I have supplies! Got more chocolate eggs under pretence of putting them on cakes.

Ta das
Got supplies
Did 15 minutes pilates - yes i actually did do this!!

Zoo you have already had a very productive day so you deserve a sit down!

SheptonBallet · 04/04/2017 14:09

I would like to start doing Flylady and I have had a look at the website.
There are two books available to buy , Sink Reflections and From Chaos to Clean, which seems to be the most recent publication.
Can anyone advise which is the best book to go for ? I would definitely prefer a book rather than just relying on the website.

mermaidsandunicorns · 04/04/2017 14:11

Goodness you lot are all very busy today!
Quiet day here have hoovered and general flying done
Curled up on sofa with merlet2 now

Cagliostro · 04/04/2017 14:27

Oh foxes big hug what a day!!!

Welcome shepton can't advise on the books as have only used website myself

Appt went well, MW is arranging the booking in appt for ASAP and I need to ring back tomorrow to get a dating scan referral. Bit of a kerfuffle as they gave me the wrong info at first and I nearly schlepped all the way to the big hospital for no reason, thankfully I phoned first as it would've been a waste of time. MW was very apologetic though when I went back. Just hoping scan can at least be booked tomorrow :)

Trying not to let DD get overexcited about a baby but also happy that DS has taken to the news better than expected - he really doesn't like babies (noise) and even covers his eyes/ears at them 😳 but after a little grumble he was talking about sharing his toys and that sort of thing. He also said in horror "You're not going to send them to SCHOOL are you?!" 😂😂😂

BluePheasant · 04/04/2017 14:37

zoo has usually done more by 8am than I manage all day Grin activities sound fab Smile

Shopping trip sounds rough foxes definitely need some chocolate to recover!

DH back from surf and we've had lunch. Sending him out with DD to get some bird seed and couple of DIY bits. Weather is turning out pretty disappointing here, where is all the lovely sunshine they promised?!

Ta das

Morning routine
Recycling and bins out
1 Load washing out on line
Bathroom cleaned
Kitchen floor swept
Painting eggs with DD
Cleaned up resulting paint explosion from painting with DD Hmm

About to sit down with cuppa and do a bit more sewing for half hour. Brew

BluePheasant · 04/04/2017 14:43

Fingers crossed you get your scan Cag your DC sound so sweet Smile

Cagliostro · 04/04/2017 14:52

Afresh Grape Nuts are a weird cereal kind of thing. Mum had them a lot when I was little so they're nostalgia food. Can have them with milk but the best thing is to slice banana and then kind of smush it into the cereal so the banana gets coated in crunchy bits.

Ease towards Easter with the Fledglings and the Flylady April thread!
Cagliostro · 04/04/2017 14:54

Aw thanks blue I don't always agree they are sweet but I suppose they mostly are :o :o 💐

Sweepingchange · 04/04/2017 15:30

A warm welcome to SheptonBallet!

Hello, just back from UK and logging on briefly from wreck2 with dodgy Internet connection (have borrowed dh's appliance momentarily) to mark place on Easter thread, so hope this works.

(Thank you again for it Cotswold. And Toostressy hope you are putting your feet up in the evenings now, that is, if the little 'uns will let you.)

Hope all the littlies who are ailing, are starting to feel better.

Sorry no time to catch up properly just wanted to say that electrics have been made safe in main vaguely habitable shed building and Internet Connection being installed next Monday (hopefully!) so should be able to help with thread leading more consistently then.

Got to go - tally-ho! Hearty wing flaps to one and all!

PS I ruddy well love Grape Nuts!! [Oooh - the nostalgia!] Hope you are feeling as ok as poss Cag xx

Very glad to hear you are sitting on your bum for once Zoo Grin good for you!

Afreshstartplease · 04/04/2017 15:35

Why have I never heard of grape nuts? Are you all in the UK?

Afreshstartplease · 04/04/2017 15:35

And why are they called grape nuts when there are no grapes!

Afreshstartplease · 04/04/2017 15:37

Or nuts!?

AND I'm sorry cag but that banana thing sounds YUCK, however I'll let you off since your in the 'family way'

Sweepingchange · 04/04/2017 15:37

Bum, sorry, that post was meant to have this pic beside it (sorry, can't work dh's technology) apple tree currently in blossom! (dead bits need pruning)

I'm not in UK Afreshstart but have just got back from there and wish I had bought some Grape Nuts now!!! [harrumph]

Ease towards Easter with the Fledglings and the Flylady April thread!
Sweepingchange · 04/04/2017 15:38

Good point, why are they called Grape Nuts I wonder?

Afreshstartplease · 04/04/2017 15:40

So grape nuts are a UK thing? I clearly live in a bubble with my coco pops

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/04/2017 15:41

Oh no foxes!

Welcome Shepton Smile. Sink reflections is definitely fairly old (although I'm sure still relevant). Never heard of the other one so that might mean it's newer but I don't know, sorry.
