Ease towards Easter with the Fledglings and the Flylady April thread!

Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Thanks to those who recommended Cozi. I've downloaded it and had all sorts of fun making lists. I can't work out how to get the flylady missions etc on there yet but I'm sure it can't be that tricky. Does it require a pc?

We were at a friend's for lunch which took longer than expected (very nice though!) so I'm no further forward in tidying but it was so nice to sit in the sunshine I don't really care. Smile

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2017 18:13

Purple, sometimes it's worth just sitting in the sun Smile.

Afresh, thank you! Fingers crossed wee is ok, it's just poo. We have an absolute ridiculous amount of bribery going on. No effect.

PurpleDaisies · 02/04/2017 18:14

toostressy my excuse is I've been tired so I obviously needed to top up my vitamin D!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2017 18:14

So yes, we have the dry like me but it is the pooing in her pants that is the issue. Shea wants to do it standing up in a pull up Confused.

Afreshstartplease · 02/04/2017 18:16

Good it's just poo. I think I would try and carry on just because if you go back in pull ups your gonna have to do it again in a few months.
Is she regular with poo? One of my elder DC would poo first thing every morning in bed pull up. This was going on at age five.

Afreshstartplease · 02/04/2017 18:18

Is it the case she will ask for a pull up to poo in?

danigrace · 02/04/2017 18:20

@comeagainforbigfudge it sounds like you've been having a tough time and have been to hard on yourself; there's no 'keeping up', look after yourself, be kind to yourself, and just do what you can manage each day and celebrate that! Smile

@PurpleDaisies batch cooking and quick fix dinners are great, I also love utilising my slow cooker - I take 5 min to chop the night before then get it in and on in the morning then think about it all day and look forward to a hot dinner ready at tea time!! We are self-employed and work from a home office about half the time but the work needs a lot of focus and dedication and the hours can be really long so there's no bunking off lol, and it's amazing how 2 hours at the midwife seems to translate to 4 hours of work to make up that evening, baffles me every time!! Maybe it's bc we're out of the rhythm or something Hmm

Hope everyone has a nice evening! and hope you get some rest Zoo

Ta das:
Morning routine
Folded and put away clean sheets
Went to parent to be event at Mamas & Papas
Made & enjoyed Sunday roast
Dishes washed and away
Kitchen cleaned and sink and stove top shined
Bins emptied

Now just about to have a cup of tea and watch a film with DP

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2017 18:22

Not regular except in the sense she was holding it in all day then getting a pull up as soon as she got home. Yes she will ask. That's the thing though, we will just have to do it all over again. It's complicated a bit but the fact that she was constipated in the past so is on a maintenance dose of Movicol. Was debating starting a thread but the potty training boards and the internet are full of the same problem and there is no answer it seems Angry.

It's going to be a loooooong two weeks Easter holidays Grin.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2017 18:23

Sorry forgot to say hello again to comeagain Smile. Absolutely agree with dani that there is no keeping up!

Afreshstartplease · 02/04/2017 18:29

I think I might be tempted to let her have a pull up and poo in it for now. But set a reward for any done on toilet/potty. Something she likes and then ignore the fact she still pooing in pull ups. If it's the case where she is unlikely to have poo accidents in school I wouldn't stress too much

Stilllivinginazoo · 02/04/2017 19:29

Sorry you having a shit day toostressy no puns intended

Lil ones in bed having read few exciting chapter demon dentist(not a good choice for bed time tbh,but hey ho still a stonking good read!!) Ds starts his bedtime full fat milkshake with extra calories added at 8 tonight.we hoping it's not go dull morning apetite whilst increasing fluid levels-he barely drinks anything!!
Mushroom risotto just about ready!!

mermaidsandunicorns · 02/04/2017 19:37

My word what a day

Lawn all dug over and re seeded
Three bags of weeds pulled up (the last tenant wasn't much of a gardener)
Washing done and hung out

Merlets kept occupied this in itself was a massive achievement as I have cream carpets and white walls - I have never mopped floors so many times in one day it looked like Glastonbury had moved in at one point

Took merlets to the beach once I'd finished so hopefully hopefully they'll be utterly shattered tonight

Hope everyone has had a good day

I need alcohol now

Stilllivinginazoo · 02/04/2017 19:55

Passes mermaidsWineor would you rather Gin
And a Starfor merlets on not wrecking place !!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2017 20:23

I'll take a Wine if it's on offer!! DD2 has just woken up.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2017 20:37

Well it turns out DD2 woke up with sparkly lip gloss all over her face, in her hair, round her eyes. She certainly has her own personality! Wasn't aware she even had any lipgloss in her room.

foxessocks · 02/04/2017 20:45

Haven't caught up on the thread yet but I'm in the naughty corner, too much wine this afternoon Blush also think the kids are coming down with something as both felt a bit hit at bedtime and been grumpy today.

Going to read through thread now!

foxessocks · 02/04/2017 20:46

Felt a bit HOT at bedtime.

danigrace · 02/04/2017 21:44

Haha seems there's never a dull moment with children!! What I have to look forward to!

We watched Hidden Figures, really enjoyed it, would recommend if you haven't seen it already.

Fresh dishcloth out
Washer on timer
Clothes laid out
Tomorrow's work stuff & list prepped
Bed turned down & curtains closed
Face/teeth, pjs on

Just having a chamomile tea downstairs and reading for half an hour then early night for me, mega busy week ahead and need all to run smoothly fingers tightly crossed

MercuryRising · 02/04/2017 21:46

Today we have been relatively lazy. I went for a walk with ds2 and dm, did the food shop and hoovered. Poor ds2 has got conjunctivitis and his eye looks very sore. The chemist couldn't sell anything to me for him as he is only 1 so tomorrow I will be heading to the doctor to get him some drops tomorrow. Other than that I plan on popping in to school for a short time and then beginning to tackle the garden.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2017 21:53

Mercury, realised I forgot to tag you at the end of the March thread, sorry Blush.
There are some useful tips upthread for conjunctivitis- cooked boiled water sometimes does the trick (apologies if you are doing that already).

MercuryRising · 02/04/2017 22:01

Thank you Stressy. I hadn't seen the tips up thread. I have used cold tea ... my dm told me it is an old fashioned treatment that works. I will use boiled water, thank you for the tip.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2017 22:25

Cooled boiled water I meant to say! Realistically anything clean that you can wipe the eyes with is the thing. I like the idea of cold tea, will have to try that one.

foxessocks · 02/04/2017 23:52

mercury snap! Think my baby ds has the same thing and also going to the gp tomorrow. Both children now have high temperatures though so think it may be start of a cold. My babies seem to start by getting sore eyes when they are coming down with something. But going to take him in case as his eye looks so sore.

CotswoldStrife · 02/04/2017 23:59

I am here, will do Monday post and catch up with today (Sunday) in a minute, just sending boring emails!

Clearly I'm not having an early night, please don't try this at home fledglings I have been specially trained for this ...

Fudge welcome back, sorry to hear about the flare-up - channel that anger! dani nice routine there. Naptimes are useful but just when you get used to them they stop ... purple good to hear the GP's are lively and keeping you on your toes! Mercury toddler help can be a mixed blessing ... zoo all your stuff (and freshstart's ) from the shared cupboard (now installed in the naughty corner) is in a box to the left to make room for my own stuff

Stressy you just don't know what to do with all your time after two months thread leading Grin, I feel your pain with the late toilet training and withholding issues, 'the poo always wins' (a phrase I once said to my own DD) is not my proudest moment Sad. mermaids just think how lovely the garden will be when you are sitting in it! Honu that vat of coffee is much appreciated. foxes - hit/hot, we try not to judge here, whatever works my friend ... Grin

I have my own DD for company on Monday as the injured foot needs some rest at home. Cue superproductive day for me
