Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Cag oh great news about the bun Smile

Thanks Cotswold don't have procedure dates yet as need further more detailed investigations and tests to determine scope of op. Still trying (day two) to get appts for those tests (hanging on to phone lines endlessly and listening to a lot of Vivaldi atm Smile) Hope the farm trail is fun - got to love a bit of mud! Grin

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 21/04/2017 14:18

SC, just caught up with thread. Flowers absolutely right not to stress until you know more but of course totally understandable to be stressed now anyway. Glad ed psych sounds very good.

Big wing flaps to everyone else. Honu, I have looked at that apartment therapy thing a few times before but of course never get around to doing it Smile.

Ta da:-
In laws now here entertaining DD2 so having quick 20 min run around after this. Off to collect DD1 from school after that.
Laundry in progress. Looks like rain here so putting it in tumbler.

To do:-
Unload dishwasher
Pick up DD2
Sort out tea for everyone
Move pens to a safe place as DD1 has drawn all over herself with pen... again.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 21/04/2017 14:19

DD2 drawn on herself with pen. DD1 safely at school!

Sweepingchange · 21/04/2017 14:36

Thanks Toostressy I'm taking Cotswolds advice and not Googling!!

Lovely to have an artist in the family Wink

Arf at procrastination over Apartment Therapy Grin I received the e-mails for a while, which, um, cluttered up my in-box unread!

BluePheasant · 21/04/2017 14:40

Hello all! I must confess to lurking in the naughty corner eating DDs easter choc all week Blush

Am tired and grumpy today, felt like been coming down with a cold since tues and it's finally hit me. DD has been waking up too early and been v testing getting ready in mornings. Today was particularly bad and I really snapped and shouted, felt awful. She cried, I cried, what a mess! We had a cuddle and I said sorry but still went to work feeling utterly miserable with myself Sad just feeling worn down with mornings being such hard work lately. Always battles about her getting dressed, they really know how to test you to the limit at times! Maybe will improve as we get back into normal routine again as easter hols felt long this year!

Also in the heat of it all and having to rush to get ready on time I've left the sodding wet washing in the machine so that will prob have to be redone as it tends to go smelly especially as it's towels.

Enjoy Easter trail cotswolds Smile

Congrats on scan *Cag and big sympathies with the morning sickness, it's horrible. I had hyperemesis and each day felt like it dragged on forever! Fingers crossed it eases off soon.

SC the Simnel cake turned out really well (if I do say so myself! Grin) used Mary Berry recipe and was easy to do.
Hope your gynae treatment gets sorted quickly.

No dishwasher here but reminded me about cleaning the washing machine door seal the other day, that was disgusting! And a complete pita to do as well! I am trying to remember to wipe it after each wash now in the hope it doesn't get that bad again!

Work is dragging today. Am offsite which is quite nice given my mood today as just have my own list to worry about but my patients keep turning up late (or not at all) then have sudden rush to catch up so its been all or nothing all day. Roll on 5pm!

foxessocks · 21/04/2017 18:46

Haven't caught up with the thread yet just stopping by to say I'm about to get my gladrags on and actually go OUT for the evening! Ds just fallen asleep so hoping he stays that way for mil...Dd is bouncing off the walls but she can be their problemGrin

So happy Friday everyone and hopefully I don't have a sore head tomorrow when I have to get up at 6am with ds!

foxessocks · 21/04/2017 18:48

Hi SC by the way!! And blue and everyone else of course Smile

BluePheasant · 21/04/2017 19:04

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 21/04/2017 19:23

Brilliant foxes Grin. Enjoy!

Cagliostro · 21/04/2017 19:37

Omg I just burned pasta like properly burnt it Blush

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 21/04/2017 20:01

Cag Grin. Hope you have found something else to eat.

DDs both asleep and FIL gone to chip shop Grin. Just faffing on here and tidying upstairs - laundry of course. Still have all this dance wear to label but hoping to do that over a glass of wine and rubbish telly on my phone later.

Sweepingchange · 21/04/2017 20:02

Oh no Cag just what you need with nausea! Get some vinegar in burnt pan and boil up with water then add bicarb off the heat (coke works too apparently) and order takeaway

Whey hey Foxes have a great night Wine

Bluepheasant sorry about stressful mornings. Hope you can get some rest this w/e and shift horrid cold. Will look up MB simnel recipe thanks!

Hope in-law visit went ok Toostressy

Did most of my list today but also too much Mnsnetting do have baking to do at crack of sparrows tomorrow morning.

Have a good evening everyone!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 21/04/2017 20:05

SC, in laws still here so feel slightly on edge but for some reason find them much, much easier than my own parents Sad. Wish I could figure out exactly why as then I could probably improve visits with my own parents.

Sweepingchange · 21/04/2017 20:08

Oh yes ta da:
Towels washed and td
Bed linen washed and td
Put away on-line shopping
Bathroom scrubbed & shined
Veg soup and fish cakes and salad made

Boudoir and baking still to do

Sweepingchange · 21/04/2017 20:13

Oh that sounds difficult with your parents Toostressy are in-laws on best behaviour because away from home maybe, or is it something like they are more relaxed with dc? Gin

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 21/04/2017 20:15

They are more relaxed with DC and so I am more relaxed. I noticed today as well they are good at stepping back and letting DH and I do the discipline whereas my parents get upset if DC cry Hmm. In laws can still really push my buttons but somehow not as much as my own parents.

Sweepingchange · 21/04/2017 20:18

Flowers Toostressy

Cagliostro · 21/04/2017 20:19

Thankfully I had another pot and the rest of the bag of pasta 😂 Was very tempted with the takeaway though especially since I realised earlier today that Subway deliver, how did I not know this?!

mermaidsandunicorns · 21/04/2017 21:01

Evening all

I've been truly so busy this week so have been really crap at checking in here. I've been managing to keep things ticking over at home tho but could do with a blitz day.

Ds1 came home from his camping trip today so he was swiftly put into the shower and his clothes into the wash. It's lovely to have him home tho

Hope everyone is ok xx

CotswoldStrife · 21/04/2017 22:55

I am well jel of foxes hitting the town for a night out while I am having a glass or two of vino and a packet of sour cream sunbites on the sofa Envy

Burnt pans - if not aluminium, soda crystals and hot water from the kettle. Boil until water turns brown. I use this to clean pans I do popcorn in.

stressy made me laugh about parents and crying grandchildren because mine were the same!

So much to do here, so little motivation ... I have been going through the clothes (I need to Kondo them!) but they are spread over so many rooms, I swear half of them in the ironing pile need washing again before wearing. DH has a truly astonishing number of t-shirts I am guilty of buying them as presents too so if I can get them all clean and in the drawers at the same time, the scale of the problem will be clear!

DD on the other hand has grown out of so much stuff! The cull there is more clear-cut and easier to do.

Enough waffling - waves to all fledglings and posts links after restocking the naughty corner

foxessocks · 22/04/2017 07:53

Hi everyone! Feeling fine this morning, didn't drink too much last night as was being sensible knowing I'd be up this morning (dh has gone to work). Still had a lovely evening with friends, slightly spoilt at the end when mil text to say ds was really crying and wouldn't settle Sad. Anyway she text again saying he had fallen asleep but by then I was anxious and just wanted to get back so we didn't stay to the end but never mind. Ds is obviously fine and has forgotten any of it ever happened Hmm my mil may not want to babysit for a while though!

Zoo I'll have a Brew if there's a spare Smile I have also had dh around and been slacking so hoping to get some stuff done today...We will see.

To do
Ironing
Daily routine
Dust upstairs furniture
Mop bathroom floor

Stilllivinginazoo · 22/04/2017 08:03
