Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Morning all.afresh I feel your pain.bickering is the next form of torture after sleep deprivation.drives me to the absolute edge sometimes. I can guarantee dd2 will be involved. Arguing is as natural as breathing to that girl....

Tadas
Fed cat
Wash on

Fed zoolets
Wash in dryer,more on
Venture shops
(Most)shop put away

Just discovered lil zoo has activated a u tube account on her tablet so she can share how to draw stuff.riot act read to make sure she doesn't put her face on it. Thankfully she's 9 going on 40 so she's used a drawing as her "photo" and only shows her hand drawing and you can hear her voice. I am not techno savvy and frankly it scare me a little

We went pets at home and did pet care thing about bunnies.lil zoo fell in love and desperate for one.I start thread on here yesterday as advice they gave was conflicting.feed back was don't do it,and check bunny welfare website.we can't realistically offer a bunny a home if needs vets minimum 2x a year,a secure outside run and as it grows up resists lots handling as that's why lil zoo wants ut-to cuddle and pet.she's devastated and crying lot today have been after one over a year and I said for her birthday(Oct) if we do a pet care course,as I'd no idea they were so full on.I've always had cats and they're pretty easy, low maintenance.nail and teeth trimming, check for bloat...its too much for the money and time we have available.I feel like most evil mum ever saying no.she's utterly crushedSad

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/04/2017 11:26

Utterly crushed

CotswoldStrife · 15/04/2017 15:25

Oh dear about the bunny. I am the world's worst mum for not playing 24/7 with my own DD (obviously mumsnetting now Blush ) but I hear myself saying 'can I just have a bit longer to get something done' because some days it is constant! Need to get her to entertain herself a bit more - but that brings me to my total ban on social media for her! She is one of the few in her class that doesn't have instagram etc (she's 10) or musicaly, that sort of thing. I am quite strict about it.

Kitchen looking lovely, DH has done a fabulous job! Paint very quick drying so may be able to put things back properly tonight.

Will press on with tidying in the few minutes I'm granted Smile

CotswoldStrife · 15/04/2017 16:57

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/04/2017 18:15

I was wondering if any one on thread had a rabbit? Are they really hard work?she's still very miserable and even a mention easter bunny bringing tears((guilt alert))she's normally pretty tough and matter if fact so it must be really bad disappointmentSad

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 15/04/2017 18:23

Hello all, great news Cag. Both my DDs steal lip balm too! Still st my parents and so far the stress is manageable. Also managed some time on my own to free up some storage on my phone (I lead an exciting life) and order some name labels.

To do:-
Organise stuff for DDs' bedtime
Bathtime
Go out for a meal just me and DH - rare event - while parents babysit Grin

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 15/04/2017 18:24

zoo, no rabbit so I don't know sorry. It's not easy being a parent sometimes often Flowers

foxessocks · 15/04/2017 19:27

zoo I had rabbits when I was a child and they are quite hard work and I admit that despite promising I'd clean them out every week my mum did end up doing it for me quite a bit Blush. It's tricky because having pets does reach responsibility but ultimately the responsibility is with the parents if that makes sense...I personally don't think I'll be getting a pet for my dd when she is older unless it is one that I 100% want for myself too. We have a cat which we inherited and she is probably less work than a rabbit ! We have also had guinea pigs in the past and they were still around when dd was born, I found it hard to make sure I gave them the attention they needed whilst looking after dd which is why we didn't get any more when they sadly died.

Also, if it helps, I used to beg my mum for a dog from about the age of 5 to the age of 15 and I was always told it wouldn't be fair because we didn't have the time or the space. I got upset about it sometimes but ultimately I got over it and I definitely never held it against my parents! We did get a dog in the end because we moved house and my mum started working part time so it was very much because my mum and dad wanted a dog not because of us nagging. Which is absolutely how it should be. Because I moved out 3 years later and the dog lived 16 years!!

Sorry I've waffled...I'm trying to say your dd WILL be ok whatever you decide to do.

foxessocks · 15/04/2017 19:30

Oh and ta das!

Daily routine
Gardening
Whole house hoovered
20 minutes exercise dvd
Dinner cooked and kitchen tidied
Popped to shops for bread etc
Put more washing on

foxessocks · 15/04/2017 19:30

And replaced all my old lip balms!

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/04/2017 19:46

Thanks foxes
She's not normally a whinger and that's why it's got to me as it clearly ment lot to her. I shouldn't have said we would after a trip farm last summer and she held a cute baby bunny without checking how much work it would involve.I have put the idea out if a girl kitten, but its on loan until we sure current furry boy scout is happy sharing his space or have yo go back. She just doesn't want talk about it,or easter bunny.I shall just have to deal my guilt....
Dd2 collect for easter vigil. Tea on rest of us,didn't realise so late-lil zoo norm in bed by now Asleep

foxessocks · 15/04/2017 20:38

Oh zoo try not to feel too guilty, as long as you're honest and just say you didn't realise the work / costs etc involved she will be disappointed but understand it isn't just that you've changed your mind without a thought. I'm sure you've done that already but honestly she will move on just give her time! I guess if she doesn't want to talk about it just leave it until she does Flowers I've got all this to look forward to! I already feel guilty saying no to my dd and she is 3 and has the attention span of a gnat.

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/04/2017 21:03

Thank foxes I've just sat on her bed and apologized again, saying I would never have said we could had I known how muchore work/money than a cat a rabbit would be.I asked if she was mad at me.she's not.just very disappointed and sad someone else will get the rabbit she fell in live with. We had a cuddle and she settling down now to sleep (very late for her)I am hoping this warrants a later start hahahahaha in my dreams

All wash up done.4th loads in dryer.I am now vegetating in front TV try decide I want a cheese sandwich before dd2 comes homeGrin

foxessocks · 15/04/2017 21:53

Afreshstartplease · 16/04/2017 06:35

Zoo if it's any consolation we have an antisocial rabbit, he hates everyone. Certainly cannot be handled by a child. Scratches and bites.

CotswoldStrife · 16/04/2017 09:44

Happy Easter everyone, especially the women of faith on here today (He is risen!)

Lots of breakfast here, boiled eggs (an omlette for DD), croissants and a touch of chocolate too!

Still putting things back in the kitchen after the refresh but it looks nice and I'm trying to edit as I go. Weather is better than predicted too!

Have a lovely day everyone!
