Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

PurpleDaisies · 13/04/2017 22:38

zoo my to dos were almost all ta didn'ts (love the name!). I did the two coats of paint in the hallway and it looks fantastic, partly due to the fact it's clear of junk. I'm resolving to keep it that way.

The only problem with painting is it's made the room next to the hall look really tired so I might try and freshen it up a bit next week.

CotswoldStrife · 14/04/2017 00:26

Apologies for the complete lack of thread attention today, I was out (eventually, took a lot longer than 40 mins) from late morning and have now just spent the evening chatting and drinking prosecco with a friend.

Hope the thumb is doing OK foxes, I am waving unsteadily to everyone else.

Morning all! Start of dh having few weeks off work (apart from the odd say he has to go in Hmm) so I'm kicking things off with a lie in and have just been brought breakfast and coffee in bed! My thumb is ok but I don't dare take the plaster off...

Glad you got more sleepafresh my ds has been an ok sleeper recently apart from some very early starts but last night he was up at 1 then 2 and wouldn't go to sleep until 4 then up at 6.30! Babies are so confusing!!

foxessocks · 14/04/2017 08:32

Oh better do a list...

Daily routine
Meal plan and food shop online
Declutter bag / car
Clean bathroom sink and sides (properly!!!)
Photo album
Ironing

Afreshstartplease · 14/04/2017 08:35

Ah no foxes sorry you had a bad night, good your dh is off work though! Mine is working today.
Ds still only taking 4-6 oz per feed. Had previously been on 8. Stopped offering porridge in a morning when he started with bug and went off milk and now not really sure what to do about it!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 14/04/2017 08:36

Morning all. We are going to my parents this weekend which is always stressful. DH at work currently so trying to pack, deal with two excited DC, and sort out stuff I really should have done last night like quick Hoover and a few other bits. My parents are already stressing about us getting there late and getting stuck in traffic. Aaaagh.

CotswoldStrife · 14/04/2017 10:05

Morning! I might have had a sip or two more prosecco than I can cope with last night, so drinking lots of tea Blush We are planning to do some work in the kitchen over the long weekend so a fair proportion of the moveable items from it are now in the lounge/diner (we only have one room) Hmm

foxes is it teething? Purple we have the same problem when painting and decorating, it just makes everything else look worse! The bit we are tackling this weekend has never been painted (the house was rented out for years before we bought it) so I think it will take a few coats ...

Hope the traffic parts before you and you sail down the motorway Stressy Waves to freshstart and zoo

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 14/04/2017 17:20

Well your good thoughts worked Cotswold Grin. Traffic was fine. My parents are entertaining the DDs and so far it is ok...

Even managed a ta da:-
Ordered some clothes online for DDs

CotswoldStrife · 14/04/2017 18:54

Blimey, it doesn't even work for me in the car - I'm amazed it worked for someone else Grin

DD asleep on the sofa, hope she is not ill - this is a very rare event! A lot of the kitchenalia is on the dining table, a good chance to consider whether all this stuff should really live in the kitchen or elsewhere!

Hi everyone
Just briefly checking in as busy weekend

Ta das

Ironing
Hoovered
De clutter
Washing washed and hung out
Merlets happily given to grandparents
You can tell it's nearly time to go back to school

CotswoldStrife · 14/04/2017 22:26

We've got another week yet mermaids which may be a good thing as DD is in bed (and has been for hours) with stomach pains. Better today than Sunday though.

I've sorted through another pile of paper - I have a magazine file on a kitchen worktop to hold paperwork but I do tend to just stuff things in there rather than deal with them properly Blush So have split it into piles - some to go back to the kitchen, a lot in the recycling and a filing pile. The kitchen does look a lot more spacious without all the stuff on the worktops, may have to really try and reduce the stuff I have out (although this would mean reducing stuff in the cupboards to fit it all in too!).

I hope you get a longer stretch of sleep tonight foxes.

Morning Brew

Another week of school holidays here too and it's not been great so far TBH, DC just constantly bickering and it's draining

foxessocks · 15/04/2017 08:09

Morning all! Thanks Cotswold bit better last night although ds still didn't settle well after his feed.

Does anybody else hoard lip balms? They are everywhere in my house! My mission today is to throw the old ones away!

To do
Hoover
Daily routine
Throw away old lip balms (!!)
Exercise DVD

CotswoldStrife · 15/04/2017 08:49

I may have more than one lip balm myself foxes, in fact my DH brought a pack back of my favourites from abroad once! Good to hear you got a bit more sleep last night.

We don't have the bickering here freshstart but only because my DD is a singleton. This means that every time she wants to play, it's with me though so fairly time-sapping!

My DD seems a little better this morning but doesn't want to go out egg-hunting, so she has decorated some polystyrene eggs and did her own egg hunt (with entry forms) for me and DH Grin now watching TV so we'll see how long that lasts!

DH is doing well with kitchen renovations (painting) so that is looking good. I need to keep working on the mess though, decluttering the stuff from the kitchen before it all goes back!

Catch you later!

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 15/04/2017 09:52

I have lots of lip balms. I don't know where any are though because my dd steals them Shock

foxessocks · 15/04/2017 10:08

afresh my dd used to do that and I'd find them in strange places all over the house.

I've only thrown one away so far! I keep them in every bag / room pretty much so just a case of switching them all over for new ones! I realise I sound a little bit obsessed with lip balm Grin

Ta das
Daily routine
Dh sorting some garden stuff out and I've told him to crack on with the hoovering later Smile nice having him home to help!
