Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Thank you 😘 Just going to disengage for now and see what happens.

Had a lie down and was joined by the Caglets who ended up talking about baby names. DD reckons Mary (Anning) Charles (Darwin) or...

Galileo. Hmm :o

mermaidsandunicorns · 07/04/2017 21:21

Oh cag

Social media can be awful sometimes. I have phases of awful anxiety and start getting worried about what people write on social media so I've learnt to disable it when I know I'm not doing so great.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/04/2017 21:40

Oh Cag Flowers. It sounds as if you told her as sensitively as possible but I suppose a situation like that will always be very difficult for all concerned. Probably sensible to disengage for now.

Relaxing with Wine and telly - watching with DH which is nice as we usually have very different tastes in film / tv but we have found a good film (Girl with the dragon tattoo). Just paused t to wash up as we will get hooked otherwise Smile.

Not done much of an evening routine but did manage to have a nice ish day with the girls and relieved DH is off tomorrow to share the school holiday load!

Early start tomorrow so must at least do a quick before bed routine. We are also off to see a new baby foxes so we are all excited Smile. Need to do some present wrapping and card writing. Never seem to be enough hours in the day!

Must get on with washing up now. Happy Friday everyone.

CotswoldStrife · 08/04/2017 00:29

Cag I don't know what to say Sad As well as the hurtful comments it's the loss of a friend as well.

Windows - not doing them in the sun or when warm, and using microfibre cloths (one wet with water/washing up liquid) and polishing them off with a dry microfibre cloth must try it again myself some time

Meh, not a great day here either (cannot keep Pringles in the house as I inhale the tube ...) so will press on tomorrow!

Afreshstartplease · 08/04/2017 07:38

Oh dear cag sorry to hear about your 'friend' As I said when you first mentioned the situation I lost a friend under similar circumstances. However she wasn't nasty (atleast that I know of) she just kind of turned off towards me. I also had a work colleague do similar although we weren't really friends as such. I tried to extend the olive branch but it wasn't wanted. Sometimes people struggle to see past their own situation.

Cagliostro · 08/04/2017 07:48

Thanks again all Thanks

Hopefully today will be better! Glad DH is off. Must focus on laundry :o

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/04/2017 12:38

Just checking in.glorious here.did cafe til 11.30,then took Zoolets a walk. We home now. Time think about sorting lunch?

PurpleDaisies · 08/04/2017 13:41

It's really lovely here too. We were going to go out but I'm still tired and a bit achey so instead we ate in the garden. I've made a big vat of cauliflower cheese soup which cost £1.30 to make five portions. I had similar last week in a cafe for £4.50 so I'm feeling very smug.

Not too many to dos today since it's so nice...
clean bathroom
Load up dishwasher and turn on after dinner
Sort out piggies

Will probably pop out for a coffee and some cake later.

cag congratulations on your news.

Cagliostro · 08/04/2017 14:06

Thank you :)

CotswoldStrife · 08/04/2017 17:20

Gorgeous day here, DD is at a sleepover tonight (so no sleep there then) and we are planning to go out for a meal - never done this on our own the entire time we've been here! So that should be nice.

Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather! Back later with the links.

purple I love cauliflower cheese! Care to share your recipe ?

BluePheasant · 08/04/2017 19:10

What a gorgeous day! We had our first proper beach day of the year. DD really enjoyed it but big group of people by us were spoiling it for the people around them. Shouting on their phones, swearing, rubbish blowing around, huge BBQ with smoke everywhere Angry why sit bang smack in middle of beach if going to do that? They had loads of space around them as no one wanted to sit near them! Had to watch DD like a hawk as was worried she would get too close to it. Just can't stand inconsiderate ppl, was having a lovely time until they showed up!

House is descending into a pigsty, need to do some catching up tomorrow!

PurpleDaisies · 08/04/2017 19:13

I totally made it up fresh after having some last week at a cafe and loving it!

I chopped up an onion and softened it in butter. Then added a small chopped up cauliflower and some mustard powder and stirred it for a minute or so to coat everything. I topped it up with vegetable stock (one oxo cube) and simmered with a bay leaf until it was soft. I took out the bag leaf and blended it all until smooth (although if I was making it again I might take some florets out and keep them whole). Then I added a big handful of strong cheddar and stirred until it melted. It was really nice.

We've had a lazy afternoon here with a big sleep for me and a massive newspaper reading session for dh. Coffee and cake didn't happen because I was asleep but we did pop to the local pub for a pint and some crisps while doing the crossword.

ndo4000 · 08/04/2017 19:30

Loving the sun today! ☀️ Not only did it help me nurture my tan, but also dried all of the SIX wash loads that I have done today!!!! All folder and put away too!! Whoop whoop!!!

Other ta das:
Supermarket shop
Made dds tea
Made flapjacks & a cake
Did some work ready for work tomorrow
Cleaned out veg compartment of fridge because it was swimming in water and rotted veg juice

To do:
Make supper for DH & me
Finish getting things ready for work tomorrow

Should probably do more cleaning but really cannot be arsed today!!!!

Cagliostro · 08/04/2017 19:49

I'm not sure you can say you can't be arsed when you've done SIX loads of laundry! 😇🌟

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 08/04/2017 20:49

Hello all. Busy, mixed day here and I think everyone was ready for bedtime.

Not sure if I have achieved anything to put on a ta da list. However, it is before 9pm, everyone else is asleep so I have the house to myself Grin. Going to find some chocolate and do the online food shop in front of rubbish telly. Depending on how long that takes will either do a bit of decluttering or will just do before bed routine and collapse!

Glad lots of us have had nice weather!

CotswoldStrife · 08/04/2017 23:29

Six loads ndo

Had a lovely meal tonight and a nice day. Will post the links next. Hope we all sleep tonight in the hot weather!

stilllivinginazoo I love the idea of adding pasta to the cauliflower cheese soup. I've got stacks in the fridge and will definitely try that.

It's gorgeous here again so I'm going to try half an hour in the garden doing some tidying up. We've got self seeded primroses all over the lawn which look lovely but not exactly convenient for mowing. They're going in an empty bed.

Does anyone use lidl dishwasher tablets? Trying to decide whether to send dh to Morrisons or lidl on the way home for our usual ones or to try something cheaper.

To dos
Garden (30 mins)
Make lunch
Finally assemble crochet hippo
Package up bits for posting tomorrow
Clean GPs out
