Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2017 11:15

Thanks everyone. I'm totally fine. I had another accident recently (it's been a bad run for cars in the purple household) but this one was fairly straightforward and really obviously the other driver's fault. I'm a big stiff but nothing done ibuprofen with sort. Work have been absolutely lovely.

I've just cleaned my french doors after looking at handprints on them for literally weeks. So much better!

PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2017 11:16

I'm a bit stiff not a big stiff (which sounds a bit pornographic). Oops. Grin

mermaidsandunicorns · 07/04/2017 11:17

What do you chaps recommend for cleaning windows as I've tried white vinegar and window cleaner and I always seem to get smears

PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2017 11:19

mermaid I was doing it on a whim so I used my glasses cleaning spray. I'm not sure that's particularly economical on a larger scale. Angry

PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2017 11:19

Argh, what's wrong with me? That was supposed to be a smile.

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/04/2017 11:25

I use wilko glass cleaning wipes. 50p packet.sometimes need a quick wipe kitchen roll after, but look great after!
Zoolets inhaling ginger and pear vegan (american) pancakes, then we off out fir a walk they don't know that yet

CotswoldStrife · 07/04/2017 11:25

Hope you are OK Purple, it's awful when your own car is wrecked by someone else - seems so unfair, you lose out and it wasn't even your fault!

Morning not going fantastically well here, need to head out in a bit (again!) and have had a treaty breakfast to cheer myself up. Early finish for end of term here, so need to get on and get back really still not moving

OP posts:
Stilllivinginazoo · 07/04/2017 11:44

Cotswold treaty breakfast sounds good!!
Zoolets revolting (well ds and lil zoo )and refusing go out by full on ab dab tantrums(sigh)
I've retreated to lay down for a bit as am very tired today and was hoping a walk in sunshine might perk me up

PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2017 12:10

cotswold a treaty breakfast is one of my favourite things ever. Today I had Pringles...

First wash out, second one in. Have stopped for a cup of tea. It's strange. I used to have nothing to do in the days and fill my time fairly easily but now I've got an unexpected day off I feel a bit lost. It's nice to be able to get the house a bit straighter ready for easter so I'm definitely not complaining.

foxessocks · 07/04/2017 13:38

I use window spray the green one think it's Mr muscle...Seems to work quite well! Also vinegar and kitchen roll pretty good if I've run out.

We've been into town all day so far so not done anything yet. I've got a headache so I'm being quite snappy with dd today and she is pushing my buttons as well Sad .

To do
Daily routine
Meal plan and food shop online
Cutlery drawer
Declutter in kitchen
Dusting
15 minutes pilates
Ironing

Argh. That's a long list today.

foxessocks · 07/04/2017 13:39

Hope you're ok purple

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/04/2017 14:15

Oh no Purple Flowers.

Ta da:-
Picked up parcel
Got gift card

We are at McDonalds Blush as was lunchtime but the time we got gift card and thought a half hour car journey back would be unwise with two hungry children. So thought we would do a school holiday treat. We never go (not because I am in any way smug but because there is not one near us) so I didn't realise you had to order extra fruit - I thought it came with the meal - will have to force some fruit and veg down DDs later.

To do:-
Prise DDs away from play area
Drive home
Do some card and present organising

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/04/2017 15:21

Had nap.just finish a very late lunch as lil zoo woke me complaining hungry and clock told me it was 145!!
Made frittatta I promised a broccoli, red pepper and potato one.yum yum yum
Served part bake rolls warm from oven and salad.I feel full and sleepy again!!Blush
Another load wash done.all dry and put away

mermaidsandunicorns · 07/04/2017 16:54

Had a cheeky nap when I got in from work as dp and his dc's are coming over for tea and woke up to see a CAT walking down my stairs with such brazen cheek as if to say "yeah?? Problem??"
It's my fault for opening the back door and then having a snooze but still cheeky thing

Cagliostro · 07/04/2017 17:44

Am assuming from your incredulity that you do not actually own a cat. :o

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/04/2017 17:51

My recently deceased boy atticus was well known for mooching casually down other peoples stairsBlush
I've been on pinterest most pm.pop shop for bread and ask dd2 keep eye on carrots cooking for beany balls.she on phone texting. I come in 10 mins later black smoke come from kitchen, carrots and pan are black and she's oblivious to stench of burning that's making my eyes sting/gasp for air (sigh)
As we need leave for choir in 30mins its plan b-chickpea and couscous salad.....

Cagliostro · 07/04/2017 17:58

Shame about the carrots, sounds like something I'd do TBH Blush

I've achieved nothing today. Feeling stressed to the eyeballs. Turns out the friend I told the other day hasn't taken the news so well. PA Facebook posts, snide comments, the works. :(

PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2017 18:08

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'm feeling pretty good although I had a massive energy crash this afternoon and slept for ages. The to do list is looking quite good with a few extra bits done.

To do...
Order a few internet bits
Post a parcel
Clean bathroom
Pluck eyebrows and sort out legs(!)
Catch up with thread and where we're supposed to be with fly lady

Bonus ta da's
Two loads of washing
Kitchen cleaned
Living room tidied
Paid the window cleaner
Enquiried about BSL level 2 course
Sent some catch up emails

Not too bad for a day that was supposed to be a write off!

BluePheasant · 07/04/2017 18:55

Sorry to hear about your accident Purple glad no one hurt but still not a nice experience. Productive day though, impressed! Flowers

Oh cag that's really upsetting for you. How close a friend is she? It sounds like she is hurting but taking it all out on you which really isn't fair. Maybe need to talk about it before it goes too far?

We had a lovely day on the moors today and really impressed at how far DD walked, had a great time Smile

Ta das

Daily routines
Bit of pruning etc in front garden
Washing dried

To dos

DD bedtime
Ironing
Meal plan and food shop
Load washing machine
DH going to remove bath seal to redo tomorrow and clean tile grout as it's gross!

foxessocks · 07/04/2017 19:06

Oh no cag that's not good, I can't believe she has been posting things on FB Sad I know she must be hurting but that isn't the way to deal with it surely?

Ta das
Cooked dinner and tidied kitchen
Packed dd bag for tomorrow (haven't packed anything else yet but it's only one night and at least I've made a start)
Decluttered one kitchen shelf
Online food shop
Meal plan

Cutlery drawer was already tidy so didn't bother with that! Didn't get round to my exercise dvd or dusting / ironing but we have enough clothes for the weekend at least! And if I dust now it will be dusty again by the time we get back on Sunday so really what is the point?! See I can always talk myself out of housework.

Dh has gone to shop for chocolate and beer supplies as we've had a slightly stressful dinner and bedtime here and feeling frazzled.

Cagliostro · 07/04/2017 19:07

Thanks Blue Thanks
She was/is a close friend so I have no idea what's going to happen.

Cagliostro · 07/04/2017 19:08

X post thank you Foxes Thanks

I need to log off for a bit as I just feel like I'm torturing myself waiting to see what's going to happen next. When maybe it will get better after a while, it's still very raw news for her I guess.

Cagliostro · 07/04/2017 19:15

Has definitely confirmed some things I wondered about her though :( which devastates me as I really thought I had a great friend in her. But I had already (before this) started to see a darker side to her.

Right, really logging off now

foxessocks · 07/04/2017 21:07

cag Sad logging off good idea, focus on you and your growing family Flowers (but don't log off MN!)
