Are you are any of the following? Can you be described as a clutterbug? Are you a hoarder, in a mess, untidy, disorganised, lazy with housework that has lead to something that you now feel unable to deal with. If you are ill and not coping with the housework. If you are emotionally attached to items for whatever reason. If you cannot just ask someone in for a cuppa at a moments notice or dread the meter reader asking for access.

Are you nodding whilst reading any of these words? If you have a combination of any or all of these things or something completely different, please join us. No one here will judge you. We have something in common and we have a common goal. We share our ideas and we share our disappointments no matter how big and our celebrations no matter how small. We cheer one another along and drag the drowners from the depths of despair.

Join us; we don't bite :) Welcome to thread number 3.

I know this doesn't sound like much, but as long as my routine isn't shot to pieces, I've actually started to keep on top of things as they crop up. So, I wash the plates as I go, I noticed the bathroom was dusty so I cleaned it and vacced the whole house for the same reason. This is a massive milestone for me so I'm hoping I can keep it up.

Now need to clean the cooker and the alcove in the living room as DS is trying to reach for stuff and I'm worried he'll end up breaking his neck.

FlyingJellyfishintheAttic · 04/04/2017 15:52

Started doing online food shop to save time until attic is done and rest of house sorted from aftermath of attic.

Picking up toddler bed today whoch will take space but dd needs bed.

Latenightreader · 04/04/2017 16:50

My bedroom is a nightmare. Yesterday I threw out five bags of paper/card and three of non-recyclables. There is still a fair way to go, but I can see patches of floor and it is no longer waist deep (although part of that was the suitcases and clothes that I couldn't get to the wardrobes to store). I feel as if I am finally making a difference, but also that after all that stuff removed it should look a bit better!

Cagliostro · 04/04/2017 17:00

Keep going everyone. I have done sod all lately, just wallowing in the whole all fucking day morning sickness phase TBH Blush

Told the Caglets about the pregnancy and DD said where are you going to put the baby? While looking round our bedroom where there is currently no floor... Blush

Solo · 04/04/2017 23:18

Today I made Dd try on a load of her clothing and have added some to the C4C bags still to go. Honestly, it makes me angry that so many of the clothes she's either never worn or has worn just once!

Heavy workweek but using breaks to do food shop, reserve items and check email.

Not decluttering I know but will mean I have more free time tomorrow to do these things.

anahata · 11/04/2017 19:35

Please can I join?

I'm struggling with my house. It's big, old and about to go on the market. I'm finalising my divorce ( it's good news, abusive and Narcissistic ex ). I'm getting over multiple major surgeries and serious depression. My house is full. Literally.

Please keep nagging me!

Cagliostro · 11/04/2017 20:15

Welcome! :)

Fought through the 'morning' sickness today to do a bit of decluttering. You can actually see some bedroom floor now Shock 4 bin bags full of rubbish, small charity bag, various things tidied away (oh god the amount of playmobil we have!)

Babieseverywhere · 11/04/2017 20:36

cag Well done finding the floor...don't push yourself too hard...remember little caget :)

ana Welcome..We don't nag but happily listen and encourage. :)

We are on school holiday, with DH at home...so the house is slowly si king as we chill. That said DH has sorted out the garden toys and I kept the kitchen/bathroom clean...so it is not all bad. :)

FlyingJellyfishintheAttic · 12/04/2017 18:44

Cleared and cleaned on and under dining table. It's just used as a dumping ground all the time.

DH did kitchen.

I took 2-3 bags to charity, one bin two carriers.

Working long days over the next 4 days so nothing until Monday now.

Solo · 14/04/2017 11:07

Ana welcome! As Babies said, we don't nag on here. I must just say well done for getting rid of that excess baggage (been there myself)! Start the house by getting rid of the things that have memories you don't like. Beyond that I don't know! I'm a bit rubbish at this myself really. I now have 4 days to sort out loads and haven't started yet.

Cag hope you are feeling better today.

Attic I haven't seen my dining table in years Blush I'm very good at covering surfaces with crap I just put down. Well done with sorting yours!

I am going to gut house this week. It takes longer finding things lost un the mess than time to sort mess!

It's taking over my life. If the house burned down now I wouldn't even miss most of it.

Solo · 17/04/2017 02:14

I have had a busy weekend so far and can actually see a difference though still not enough!

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 17/04/2017 09:31

Hope everyone has had a nice Easter! We don't particularly celebrate it and DH was working anyway. I filled a big filing box with stuff to recycle yesterday.

The Caglets and I stayed with my parents for a few days which was lovely, and while we were away DH took it upon himself to get in the attic. He cleared loads of books and clothes, they'd gone manky. There's only a bit of paperwork and more books up there so hopefully we will sort that soon and then we will have an empty attic! Shock The plan is to only put the Christmas stuff up there, plus a few sets of toys (duplo etc) that the Caglets have outgrown but are worth keeping for when Cagletini is a toddler (that's literally ALL we have for baby). I want to avoid putting anything else up there. I need to figure out how to store it safely though so it won't go horrible.

Cagliostro · 17/04/2017 09:32

Oh BTW had a dating scan and Cagletini is due mid November apparently! So less far along than I thought and more time to panic continue getting the house sorted. :)

Babieseverywhere · 17/04/2017 23:11

Glad you have plenty of time to get sorted. :)

Sounds like you are doing well Solo.

We are drowning in stuff. I have got all the little girls toys out to sort out !

We have things to do in every room and garden and everything is half done...arghhh.

That said I have a week to get some of it done and finish some of the half done jobs :)

Solo · 18/04/2017 00:02

:) Cag Baby will soon be here!

Did a lot more today! Still a tip, but I can definitely see improvement! I've put off having the new washing machine delivered about 3 times now and will have to do so again Blush but I'm still going to book Friday off and try to get a load more done! Might have to postpone for another 2 weeks though!

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 18/04/2017 07:55

Thanks both, in one sense I'm hoping it'll fly by (at least the next few weeks as still in first trimester and morning sickness is far worse than my previous pregnancies). But also thinking I have sooo much to do!

DH is off Wednesday and Thursday so hopefully we can get more done.

I've decided we need a sofa after all. We've managed a while without one but even the chairs we've got are falling apart and it's getting very uncomfortable. Need to prioritise the living room so it can fit in!

FlyingJellyfishintheAttic · 23/04/2017 21:02

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Managed to take several bags full to charity yesterday. Been chilling today mostly and now have a functional living/ dining room.

Solo · 23/04/2017 22:26

A completely wasted weekend for me!

OP posts:
Babieseverywhere · 24/04/2017 21:55

I have spent a couple of hours this evening trying to persuade my little girls to cull their pile of toys to a manageable level.

One wanted to keep them all and one wanted to throw them all...arghh. I have three bags to bin and one for charity.

The biggest time waster being the tiny miniature toys which of course they love !

Still have another bag of toys to do with them tomorrow and then onto their books.

FlyingJellyfishintheAttic · 25/04/2017 10:19

Tomorrow plan is to take an hour to organise living and dining room as everything left is for keeping and finding homes.

Still waay too much left to declutter though!

Cagliostro · 25/04/2017 10:41

I've done nothing lately. DH has done the odd bit while I've been out with the Caglets and I'm just trying not to freak about about what he might have thrown away :o

Solo · 25/04/2017 22:35

Well, this morning I got on and did the hand washing up (things I don't put in the dishwasher), put a load of towels in to wash and hung them to dry. I also went through a pile of clothing that was dumped in the bedroom and it is now in two distict piles (mine and Dd's) which I will try to put away tomorrow. I also sorted a large bag of clothes for my friend to try on as she needs something to wear for a weekend celebration. They will be coming back though.

I felt pleased with myself :)

Solo Brilliant day yesterday...you got loads done :)

I have a very long to do list and no energy.
I am not writing a list here but will report back later what I did. Just hope the weather holds !
