Are you are any of the following? Can you be described as a clutterbug? Are you a hoarder, in a mess, untidy, disorganised, lazy with housework that has lead to something that you now feel unable to deal with. If you are ill and not coping with the housework. If you are emotionally attached to items for whatever reason. If you cannot just ask someone in for a cuppa at a moments notice or dread the meter reader asking for access.

Are you nodding whilst reading any of these words? If you have a combination of any or all of these things or something completely different, please join us. No one here will judge you. We have something in common and we have a common goal. We share our ideas and we share our disappointments no matter how big and our celebrations no matter how small. We cheer one another along and drag the drowners from the depths of despair.

Join us; we don't bite :) Welcome to thread number 3.

yes it is windy.

I have now created a new task for myself every two days which is clearing dog messes from the garden!! oh no...

otherwise, all sorting has ground to a halt, but the floor is getting washed and a lot of clutter is being cleared as a matter of urgency so that the dog doesn't eat it (at floor level)

I've managed to keep abreast of rubbish and compost clearing too. Today i hoovered ds1's boxroom for his return from college for one night, and the groceries seem a bit more streamlined as we have a regular food delivery now and I don't even have to think it just turns up every fortnight (mince sausages and cheese) haven't yet worked out how to shop with dog(think this doesn't happen) on foot, so a lot of nonessential errands are getting streamlined into one rush out and use the time available slot. which is good. lying on sofa now, watching dog sleep in his crate, he is exhausted. very mindful. he likes me to stay in one place and rest, I tell myself...Wink

Down this happened to me with my driving license. So annoying! I found it the day after I reported it destroyed.

I washed up today and I've put all but 2 plates, 2 dishes (like big pasta bowls because we like to use them on a daily basis for main meals), 2 plastic side plates (because they are lighter) and 2 breakfast bowls into a crate along with most of my remaining mugs - I've left 2 each out and 2 spares. We just seemed to use everything until there was nothing left to use and so I have told Dd that everything we use gets washed after each use.

I've noticed moths and lots of pupae so, I'm aiming to get the clothing sorted and get rid of at least some of it.

Whoaaaa I have missed a lot.

Still loving the house, not done more decluttering though. It’s much easier to ignore when the boxes are out of sight!

Things have gone a bit shit here. DH is no longer working, he has been diagnosed with spondylitis, osteoporosis and degenerative disc disease. So just trying to throw all our efforts into home ed (which is actually going really well) and not think about all the other crap.

Arguably we should have more time to sort the house now Hmm

I will catch up tomorrow. I’ve missed you lot. Xx

Solo · 17/03/2019 21:30

Hey Cag :) good to see you! Sorry to hear about Dh's diagnoses too.

I'm full of cold and I sneezed half an hour or so ago and got a horrendous sharp pain in my temple. Not pleasant and has left a pain in the side of my face/temple.

Morning everyone, may I join you (againGrin)
I’m STILL getting on top of the housework - crazy busy lifestyle and being naturally messy is just not a great mix haha hope you are all well Flowers

Solo · 21/03/2019 21:06

Hey, Tidy, of course, you can! I'm much the same as you and still got nowhere!

I found the passport! I spent an hour in my sons room going through moving boxes (from 6 months ago). In amongst kids books was a plastic folder with my passport in it! I honestly believe we just naively thought we’d open every single box after moving and empty them all, so some things really got packed away willy nilly! That of course doesn’t happen. I just cannot find the definitive place for everything to go. That just seems to take time and effort. One day maybe I’ll have a place for everything and everything in it’s place!

I’m having a mole removed on Tuesday and I will be very glad when I get the all clear for melanoma. I’ve been told it’s not looking that worrying so I’m really trying to be good and not think about it!

If I can book an eye test next week I won’t have any other niggling things floating in my brain.

Nettleskeins · 24/03/2019 16:55

doing very badly here, dog is causing multiple pile up of to do list! However, I am getting out in the fresh air a lot.
Not quite got the energy to clear up when he is asleep I tend to flop down in similar fashion; I know I should be doing more when he is in his cosy bed 4 times a day.night.

Down well done on your passport, it is like winining the lottery when you find a lost passport.
Cag how are you this week. A massive change to get used to, and I know how awful it is when your dh is ill, dh has been ill with chronic unresolvable issues and under the weather a lot recently and the emotional burnout is great, although one doesn't want to say that to them. the only thing I would say is that sometimes when there is a bad diagnosis like that it gives you as a family permission to set yourself new goals, different from other people's and enjoy small pleasures. Is it worth considering a secondary place for your dd or morning termtime nursery for littlest, just in case that might take the pressure off a bit..I know it feels like a backwards step when one makes the big decision to home ed, but nothing is set in stone and needs/solutions to needs can change. As you know I home edded ds2 (ASD) for two years and it was wonderful absolutely the best thing for him, but he is happy at school now, and that suits too.

dog is trying to eat the remains of several pringle tubes (ds2 had a party yest) so I will have to excavate him.

Nettleskeins · 24/03/2019 17:07

and best wishes to Down re mole and Solo sinus pain - the pits. Sad

Cagliostro · 24/03/2019 22:36

Hi all. Sorry about health issues 😰

I haven’t caught up fully yet. Been gradually reading and enjoying the time lapse version of everyone’s progress!

We are away for a few days this week, I’m decluttering some old toys and books - they are tatty/too babyish type things and we are taking them so she has stuff to play with, and then they can be chucked away there.

I did a crazy thing this week and joined the gym! 😱 There was an insanely good offer on and me and four of my best friends thought “fuck it”. I will of course have to be very careful but swimming more has been excellent lately, mental health wise especially. Also doubles up as time on my own away from kids! With DH being home now I am seeing the positives that I can do more for myself for a bit.

I will have no WiFi on holiday so may not post! Have a good week everyone and I shall try and read back more when I’m home!
