Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Evening all,

Wednesdays are crazy busy here and made worse tonight by gridlock on main road through town necessitating extra 40 mins to pick DS up from somewhere, which then meant Pot Noodles for tea instead of lovingly prepared stir fry otherwise would have missed getting DD to Guides.

Yes to fruit vanishing faster than I can buy it. Hotspots are the opposite, reappearing faster than I can clear the next one.

Purple - good idea having a MN break. For Lent I hid all topics apart from this one, gardening and a few other very tame subjects, it has made me feel much more in control of my MN habit.

So, today, just general tidying and daily habits really. Tomorrow should be quieter.

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/03/2017 03:19

I can't sleepSad
sc dd2 gives up sweets n choc for lent.this her 3rd yr do so.lil ones on Minecraft.tablet detox and find that harder, esp ds who lives on xbox I. Am actually see/talk them more now which is nice, but its more messy.I near snap my neck on a my lil pony explosion on ds floor at bedtime(at 11 he would die it got out at school, but as he loved horses he quite enjoys play with them with lil zoo.those two are virtually inseparable)

Afreshstartplease · 09/03/2017 06:51

zoo £7.50 for 5 sessions is not bad at all! Our school doesn't run many activities but the ones they do are around £30 for 10 sessions. And they are only 45 min sessions. Our school is probably considered in a more affluent area but catchment does also cover an area that really isn't!

Afreshstartplease · 09/03/2017 06:53

bluepheasent funny you should say that. I think my passport is in the kettle pile land slide. People now keep coming in and chucking more things on top of this!,Argh!

ememem84 · 09/03/2017 08:38

Hello! Jumping back in!

since I was last here things have moved on. I've found out I'm pg (10 weeks) and dh is in nz at present at bils wedding. We are trying to move house (maybe) before the end of June.

So my jobs for this week and next week are to get our flat organised deep cleaned and spruced up. As much as I can.

Today's jobs include:

Taking rubbish out
Taking a bag to the charity shop
Emptying and cleaning kitchen drawers and deep clean kitchen surfaces
Folding dry washing from yesterday and putting it away.

foxessocks · 09/03/2017 09:54

Congratulations em!

Morning to everybody hope you got some more sleep zoo , you just missed me I was up at 2.30 with ds but then put him back to bed at 3 and he slept until 6.30 (in our bed though!).

I'm having a cuppa while ds has a nap on my lap. Given up putting him in his cot because he just kept waking straight up and frankly I like having the excuse to sit down for a bit. DD is at nursery this morning, I forgot to leave her bag there so hope she doesn't need any spare clothes today, it'll be typical the one day she needs them she hasn't got them!

Evening all!

Bit jaded tonight. Could kill for a chilled glass of white but have given alcohol up for Lent too! Bum!.

Out all morning being patronised in a a variety of different languages by plumbers' merchants and scaffolding bods; which was delightful not.

Then spent seemingly aeons making another pie (apple and blackberry this time) and a pea and ham soup to take us through the weekend, and a vegetarian shepherd's pie which frankly tasted rather mediocre considering the effort involved.

Also managed about four loads of washing (now hung up or dried), a more thorough than usual s&s, various swabbings of kitchen at various stages of the cooking process and several empty-ings of dw.

That was it for today. How is everyone else doing?

Hope you are feeling a bit better today Cag!

Purple hope your furry was ok at vet's today

Hope you have a better sleep tonight Zoo (and lovely about your ds's pony addiction!) Smile

Hey, great to have you back ememem84 sounds as though you have loads going on!! Many congrats on your pregnancy and take it steady Flowers

Great that your colleague apologised Mermaids (I should think so too!) and aw re: your ds, bless him.

Ditto here re: hunger Foxes (I am on Lenten diet and it's not going well.)

Waves to Toostressy Bluepheasant, Whoknows, Honu, Castle, Cotswold Afreshstart and everyone else!

Links coming up ... .

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 09/03/2017 19:25

Congratulations em FlowersBear. Glad colleague apologised mermaids and Star for your DS. foxes, I'm sure your appliances are cleaner even if they don't look it Smile. Afresh and zoo, DD1's school is absolutely lovely but one of the downsides is that it only has very short term clubs so children can only do a few weeks at a time of clubs every so often as they are short of space. Thanks again for links SC. Hello to BluePheasant, Cag, WhoKn0ws, Purple and everyone else!

[Hello, SC here again, on behalf of our lovely leader Toostressy.]

Friday's links as follows ... .

All information also available on the Flylady website here.

The flight plan should update every day.

We are in Zone 2 this week: the kitchen.

Spend 15 mins (or as much as you can manage if you can't do 15) decluttering in Zone 2.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 2 is here.

Friday's mission is here. (Scroll down.) Set your timer and fling your way through one shelf of your kitchen pantry or cupboard. Give away food you are never going to use; and chuck out half empty pkts or stuff that is out of date.

The daily focus for Friday is: declutter your cars, handbags, purses etc

Daily reminders here . (Hopefully will update in time for tomorrow!)

Baby-step no 10 is here. The power of 15 mins!

March habit is getting dressed to shoes here.

Flykids mission: here. [Hope this updates too.]

TGIF!! Have a good 'un everyone!

*

I'm off at crack of sparrows in the morning (going orf to the country to meet a contracter) and will be off-line for a while again now! So g'night/cheery-pip for now!

For the canine lovers amongst us, enjoy Crufts! (I will have to watch the final on catch up in a week or so!)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sweepingchange · 09/03/2017 19:27

No worries Toostressy Smile handing back the virulent pink feather duster now ... Grin Tatty-bye everybody!

Sweepingchange · 09/03/2017 19:31

"Tatty-bye"? Blush Confused

... I think the lack of alcohol is getting to me ...

Grin
WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 09/03/2017 21:50

Ah, DD and I have been watching Crufts tonight, DD brought all her toy dogs downstairs to watch with us. Then Pottery Showdown, now Painter of the Year, a nice relaxing evening.

Quite a bit of tidying today, hotspots are rampant in this house. Also strategic gathering of stuff for tip / charity run tomorrow without DD noticing. I've invited a friend round in the afternoon so I will fit in home blessing before that. Being nagged by DCs to go and do stuff, better go, night all

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 09/03/2017 22:07

SC Grin. WhoKn0ws, aww at toy dogs. Am in naughty corner. Can offer Wine (sorry SC). Will be back to flapping my wings tomorrow.

BluePheasant · 09/03/2017 22:19

Evening!

Congratulations em how exciting!

Good luck with meeting SC yes will be watching some crafts on catch up. Love watching the gundog category Smile

Glad to hear your colleague apologised mermaids hope you don't get anymore trouble from her.

Sounds lovely WhoKn0ws we need to catch up on Pottery Showdown, watched the first 3 then forgot to keep up. Agree though, is nice relaxing tv Smile

Well I'm ahead of the game for tomorrow's mission as was doing my kitchen cupboard declutter mission when I came across this lovely thread Grin

Work this week is really draining me, just done my daily routines and bit of tidying this evening. Oh tell a lie, two loads of washing done too which reminds me I need to put the second lot on the airer. Then my bed is calling me!

Tatty bye! Wink

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 09/03/2017 22:30

Just realised I should explain the naughty corner to newbies! Probably fairly self explanatory but we are not really feeling the whole flylady thing for whatever reason we can hang out in there. We stock it with any drinks or snacks we have to hand and occasionally plump up the cushions Smile.

OP posts:
BluePheasant · 09/03/2017 22:36

Ahh! I'll join you in the naughty corner then Grin can't even be bothered to plump the cushions though sorry!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 10/03/2017 07:52

Morning all. Back on it today. DDs eating breakfast then need to get ready for school.

To do:-
School run

While DD2 in preschool:-
Preschool committee admin
Buy birthday present - why do I ask what people want as it is often really obscure stuff?!

Later:-
Home bleugh

Am really annoyed with myself as realised this morning I didn't pick up my cash back last night at shop. So have lost £20 Sad. It's just a constant fight against being fundamentally disorganised Sad. Oh well, must get on.

Afreshstartplease · 10/03/2017 08:04

Stressy was it on self service

Phone the shop or go in with your receipt

I've done this about four times and always got my money back

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 10/03/2017 08:14

No was at the till. When they asked if I wanted a receipt I said no Angry. Might go in and see if the same lady is there today but if not I think I've lost it.
