Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Afreshstartplease · 08/03/2017 09:54

Yes zoo all fed no one dead! We go through shit loads of bread/muffins here too. Also fruit. So much bloody fruit.

Our school really don't offer much in the way of classes. Do you have to pay for them zoo?

Determined to make a difference to kitchen today. I actually quite fancy throwing the kettle pile all straight in the bin. But I won't. There are likely some important things on it alongside all the crap.

Ds is on the verge of rolling over! This seems to be entertaining him .....for now atleast

Ta Da

Me and 4DC up fed and out for 840
One load dry and upstairs
One load washed
Table clear from breakfast
Few bits picked up from shop bread and fruit

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 08/03/2017 12:09

Hi all, quickly reply as am on work lunch. Thanks very much SC, I'll take you up on that offer. Don't worry, I lost half an hour thru sick cat not this thread. Have vet appointment later today, she's at home at the moment but DH can finish work early so hopefully all ok.

I've been AWOL again. I've been trying to get organised before full time work starts and staying off mumsnet was helpful!

Today's plan is food shop, wrote a load of birthday cards, clean the kitchen (how is it dirty again?!) and do some work admin, plus catch up with the thread.

Sweepingchange · 08/03/2017 13:05

Afreshstart four fed and no one dead and all up and out for 8.40 is (continuing) mahoosive achievement in my book!

Right ho Toostressy, my pleasure, will do!

Waves to Purple, when do you start ft?

Cagliostro · 08/03/2017 14:10

Behind on thread - awful night and morning pain wise so was asleep before DH got in from work 😱 And this morning had to have a hot bath in a pain relief attempt 🙄
Had one pupil this morning, two more arriving at 3 then another at 8. Think of the money Cag think of the money! Still at least it's all from the comfort of my own home.

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/03/2017 14:11

afresh some clubs are free(archery, football, gymnastics etc as run by staf)basketball is by " hotshots" which is a company and they play tournaments other teams andi can't afford all mine to do that so no one did.this dance class is £7.50 for a term (basically 5sessions) of 8-8.40 on wed morning. There's also a football academy that's expensive and a drama group similar price lil zoo dance
We live "deprived area" so after /before school clubs are thankfully heavily subsidised

Yy to bloody fruit.people laugh we go through 5+bunch banana a week,at least one bag apples and one pears.grapes dissapear instantaneously. Ditto all berries.carrots and cucumbers. Sometimes I genuinely think I catering to a zoo chimps on bannisters etc

Glad not just mine that decimate food like plague locusts!!Grin

Can remember I posted cake dropped at church so I mention it as motivational aid(feels like swim through treacle today)
Made banana muffins for friend having fil issues(helps care for him.Alzheimer)she used be my Avon lady before we moved here 11 years in may and still a tip so her husband drops Avon in lunch break sometimes

Wash dry n put away(note.I've done 2loads)should really do another as soon starts trickling down stairs if I don't....

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/03/2017 14:14

X posts cag
Sorry having rubbish time with the pain today. Def think of the money!!

Cagliostro · 08/03/2017 17:57

I have to pick up DD from Brownies in a bit and then have one more pupil at 8. Must tidy up the living room a bit first though!

Hello all, thanks for good thoughts for cat and for doing links SC. I can start them up on Friday night again no problem.

Cat has been to vets and thankfully he couldn't find any signs that she was dehydrated or of bowel obstruction or anything worrying like that. She clearly isn't herself though and since she's vomited for a few days we need to keep an eye on her. Hopefully just something she ate (the treats or something she found outside) or an infection that will just clear up. He's given her an anti sickness injection and some very light cat food. If she's not better by Friday we need to bring her back in.

Very relieved there was nothing serious found and she hasn't been sick again although we have just fed her the food the vet gave us so will have to see how she goes.

Cag Brew. Mermaids, it is soul destroying working with someone you hate isn't it?

Ta da:-
Been at work so not much
Both DDs nearly asleep
Logged onto online learning system to find they have changed it since I started and probably need to start from beginning again Angry. Also doesn't seem to work on a phone so need to schedule a lot of time to actually sit down with a computer and do it Angry.
Emailed online learning system to request setting up new account and see if they can find my old one .

To do:-
5 mins decluttering
Order present on Amazon
Tea
Evening routine
Before bed routine.
Phone my parents

Cagliostro · 08/03/2017 19:36

Thanks foxes yeah just a bit of a fibromyalgia flare up really.

Couldn't manage the walk twice so got a taxi back from Brownies - made more interesting by the satnav being voiced by Daffy Duck 😂

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/03/2017 19:36

Fingers x *toostressy" its just a case eaten something shouldn't. Dd2 bf st primary had a cat got sick.on 2nd day took vets and it yak up a mouse tail on vets table. He said I think that's your problem answered but still charge for his time cat in dog house ( not literally) it couldn't have done that couple hours earlier.it was fine after that.next time she was sick they waited and out pop another tail....daft moggy!!vet said it's likely the digestive track upset her digestion and not chew the tails!!she's in kitty heaven now, but I remember that story with aGrin

I've had a pretty productive day doing all sorts of boring forms and writing birthday cards. March is a big month for birthdays. I'm sort of continuing with the usefulness by doing some crochet but that's quite a nice job.

sweeping I'm starting on Monday. It's exciting but slightly scary.

stillliving we thought our guinea pig had a bowel obstruction so took him to the emergency vet only for him to do his first poo in twenty four hours on the examination table. I'm off to the vet tomorrow with one of ours that has tiny eye ulcers.
Get well soon to your cat stressy.
cag fibro is horrible. I hope your flare calms down quickly.
foxes if you've still got a chocolate craving my dh came home with mini eggs an there are one or two left!

Sweepingchange · 08/03/2017 21:00

Evening all!

Glad you are feeling a bit less rough now Cag take it steady Flowers I seem to recall that Epsom Salts in the bath were good for pain relief/reducing pain and swelling; might help a little maybe? Hope you sleep better tonight anyway. Great that lessons went well too! Arf at Daffy Duck sat nav Grin

Don't feel bad Toostressy enjoy your half hour of "me" time Smile (if you manage to get it that is!!) Happy to help! Sorry learning system such a nightmare! But happy to hear nowt seriously wrong with your furry! Hope she recovers soon!

It's no prob thanks Cotswold; I am in town until Friday morning so can easily do tonight and tomorrow night. (Bearing in mind I was supposed to run entire thread in March, 'tis the least I can do Blush)

Zoo yurgh at mouse tail upchuck Shock!!

How exciting Purple very best of luck for Monday!

Foxes please don't mention chocolate - I am off it for Lent!! Sad

Cheery wing flaps to everyone else! Links up next!

Sweepingchange · 08/03/2017 21:01

[Hello, SC here, temporarily doing links tonight and tomorrow night on behalf of our esteemed thread leader Toostressy.]

Thursday's links as follows ... .

All information also available on the Flylady website here.

The flight plan should update every day.

We are in Zone 2 this week: the kitchen.

Spend 15 mins (or as much as you can manage if you can't do 15) decluttering in Zone 2.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 2 is here.

Thursday's mission: is here. Tackle your large appliances ... .

"... wipe off the fingerprints, the spills and the dried food that gets stuck on the stove, the dishwasher and the refrigerator. Wipe down the doors, the handles and the surfaces. This is not a detailed cleaning mission where you need to spend hours scrubbing, just 15 minutes to surface clean your large appliances."

The daily focus for Thursday is: errand day.

Daily reminders here. [Do these update daily? Not sure! Sorry, SC]

Baby-step no 9 is here. Remember it takes 28 days to form a habit! Read the decluttering Flying lesson and add a five-min room rescue to your morning routine!

March habit is getting dressed to shoes here.

Flykids mission: here. [Hope this updates too.]

Happy Flying one and all!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 08/03/2017 22:17

Thanks SC. Am chuckling at mouse tails Grin. Hope your furry gets on ok tomorrow Purple. I am watching telly and relaxing Smile.

Mega flop today. Just about managed daily routines to a fashion. Did a quick 5 min 2 mindeclutter of kitchen and hall.

Kettle pile defeats me again. I've neatened the heap so at least it takes up less surface area Grin Yes afresh wouldn't it be so satisfying to sweep whole lot in the bin! If only! Too many important/valuable things there atm including my passport!
Decided to do nothing this evening in the hope of feeling more motivated tomorrow.

Was teaching someone this morning so not quite caught up on reports, should get caught up tomorrow. No more unexpected overtime this week but already agreed to work extra this sat a while ago.

Glad cat ok toostressy, poor thing, they do eat the most disgusting things sometimes so quite likely that!
Online learning is sounding v frustrating, sympathies! Brew

Purple you are tempting me to pick up crochet again. Would love to make a blanket for our bedroom. Just can't decide on colours/style.

Hope you feel better tomorrow cag must be tough keeping going when in pain l.

Thanks for links SC, easy daily mission, maybe I'll do that AND the kettle pile, hahahahaha Grin
