Fledglings marching into spring - the Flylady thread

Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Sort through tshirt drawer and sock drawer to wheedle out old stuff.

Morning (errrm afternoon I mean) folks have not quite caught up with thread but saying hi anyway. Feeling a little better, yesterday was tough as Thursdays always are (lots of places we need to be throughout). Today DH has taken the Caglets on a home ed trip (Thames barrier!) and I saw a friend in the morning which was lovely as I'd not met her new baby. We went to a toddler group and the baby fell asleep on me which was soooo lovely

Tired now just hoping to rest and maybe clear up a bit as I have my last new pupil of the week this evening and... hopefully the others will be back in time to pitch in though.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 10/03/2017 17:52

Aww Cag, baby snuggles are lovely.

Evening everyone

Ds1 has gone to grandmas for the weekend
Hopefully will have a good blitz tomorrow

Have a good weekend everyone xxx

Cagliostro · 10/03/2017 19:52

Glad stresscat is recovering!

Had a major organisational fail this afternoon. I was shattered after the busy morning so I went for a nap. Asked DH to ring when on train as they didn't have keys, I stupidly assumed they would be fairly quick! Luckily he texted to say they were at the station and that woke me up at 5.20pm - new pupil due at 6!!! So had to get redressed and sort the pit of the living room as I'd been too tired before, and then they arrived 15 minutes early 😱😱😱 oooops! Just so glad I did wake up!

Still the lesson went well so that's great. DH and the Caglets arrived home just afterwards and they had a blast at the Thames barrier, they've not stopped talking about it! Really glad they got to go :)

BluePheasant · 10/03/2017 21:09

Good news on stressycat and getting your £20 back, am sure as long as the cashier didn't pocket the money then they won't be in trouble.

Fustrating about your CT results zoo, my department is currently on a similar turnaround for CT reporting, is far from ideal :( do get your GP to chase it up as you have waited long enough.

Well I made a tit of myself in M&S, tried to be organised for work by buying tomorrow's lunch on my way home as I really couldn't be bothered to make anything tonight. Didn't have my debit card on me but thought never mind can do contactless with my CC. Didn't work. No idea what sodding PIN is. Had to leave my shopping behind SadBlush. Pretty much sums up my week so far!

Ta das

Daily routines
Donated some textbooks to work that I no longer need. (More clutter gone Grin)
One load of washing
Ironing
Unpacked Laura Ashley delivery, went a bit mad in the sale, DH not amused Wink

To dos

Make DH a little to do list for tomorrow, he's v good but does better with a list! Wink

Have a good weekend all, will catch up in a couple of days Wine

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 10/03/2017 21:30

Thanks BluePheasant, he said the CCTV was very clear that she didn't get the money out of the till so hopefully it will be ok. Oh no re M&S, how annoying. My DH is also better with a list as it means I nag him less Smile.

Cag, thank goodness your DH texted you! mermaids, hope you get some bits done tomorrow. Big wing flaps (or flops as appropriate) to everyone else.

Just eaten fish and chips here and have left DH to the rugby - going to potter about downstairs loading dishwasher etc while watching something on telly. Might skip out of before bed routine but will need to finish evening routine.

Will post links in a bit.

Where is everyone today?

I'm here

I'm really slacking at the moment at the thread / my house

Urgh

Dunno what is up with me!

mermaidsandunicorns · 11/03/2017 13:41

I'm here Cag xx
I'm on a laundry mission today. The new house has one of those double washing lines on a pulley and I've actually managed to figure out how It works today. It was in a bit of a tangled mess.

PurpleDaisies · 11/03/2017 13:57

I'm here too! Have been trying to get the house sorted before work starts and I've got a friend coming tomorrow. I've managed to almost clear the under stairs dumping ground. I think a good hour this evening will finally do it. I've also put some pictures up which has made the house feel more like home. I'm popping out for a few more frames and some food. We've got a guinea pig on tlc feeding every couple of hours until she starts eating properly on her own so it'll be a focussed trip rather than a nice wander.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 11/03/2017 13:58

Double washing line mermaids? I'm jealous Smile.

OP posts:
mermaidsandunicorns · 11/03/2017 15:17

My next door neighbour has one as well she hangs her pants out on the high line

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 11/03/2017 15:49

Ta da:-
At party
DH doing food shop then he will do tea

To do:-
Laundry

Later:-
Online learning
5 mins decluttering

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 11/03/2017 20:56

I managed one wash load today, haven't even got it out the TD - got some other dry clothes that need putting away so it can all be done tomorrow.

We had a vague attempt at family fun day as we tried a couple more board games.

Also got rid of two bag for lifes to the chazzer this morning - a few of the books were leftovers from the super popular book swap at our world book day event (I had told people that any left over would be donated) but I grabbed a few more from our own shelves, and some non-fitting shoes and an outgrown coat. Yay!

We also attacked a few little BRCs so it's not been a totally awful day (despite the fact I am RAGING with the joy that is PMT!)

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 11/03/2017 21:55

Hi all, Cag, sounds fairly productive if you got all that stuff to charity shop plus dealt with RBCs Smile. Purple, hope you managed some decluttering in between looking after your furry. Afresh, let us know if you need the pointy stick (tomorrow though, not on Saturday night!). mermaids, well done on laundry progress Smile. Big wing flaps to SC, WhoKn0ws, zoo, foxes, ememem, BluePheasant and everyone else.

Not too bad a day here - tantalisingly close to the bottom of a RBC and have nearly put away DD2's bday presents. Also managed some online learning. Just about to put on a load of laundry then planning to collapse.
