Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Off to tap class in a mo.

foxessocks · 07/03/2017 17:16

I've just made a total pig's ear of dinner!! My white sauce congealed and the kitchen looked like a bomb had gone off. Have managed to tidy up a bit but don't think it's going to taste great...Oops. I was trying to do too many things at once.

Still got to sort out dds bedroom and do some ironing hopefully.

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/03/2017 18:56

Hello all, mixed day today! DD2 has been sunshine and showers bless her.

Ta da:-
DD2 asleep, DD1 nearly asleep
Dishwasher and laundry under control
Actually did some meal planning!!!!! DD2 and I made bolognaise sauce so had some for lunch and froze two lots. Also finally got round to buying a meal from a shop in town- one of those home made ready meal type things - going to have it for tea so at least will know whether it's worth trying more in the future.

To do
Evening routine
Before bed routine
Get all back from next door!
Online learning - link wasn't working last night so couldn't do any Angry. Need to try again tonight and if it doesn't work phone the people tomorrow.

Also trying to make a plan (have tried and failed before) of sitting down and actually having half an hour to myself in the evenings. If I got my act together I could do this and think it would be fab!

Hope dinner wasn't completely ruined. zoo, I had a look at the fat cat thread. Awwww. Thanks for vomit tips SC! Not yet tried because I cba the stain remover I tried did help a lot but will have a go if it looks dodgy tomorrow. Pops cat, she is snuggled up next to me now. Think she has felt quite sorry for herself the last couple of days. Cag, v impressive how much your Caglets do... I hope I can get my DC to be as helpful in the future. Afresh BrewCake.

Here is the daily summary for Wednesday...

All information also available on the Flylady website www.flylady.net. The

flight plan
should update every day.

We are in Zone 2 this week: the kitchen

Spend 15 mins (or as much as you can manage if you can't do 15) decluttering in Zone 2.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 2 is here

Mission
Let's have a Fire Drill on the flat surfaces of the kitchen!
Do you have a hotspot in there that is burning? Get out the trash bag and an empty laundry basket. Toss the trash and put the things that need to be put away in other rooms in the laundry basket. Once you have cleared the hotspots, deliver the other items to the proper rooms.

This might take a little longer than 15 minutes, if so, then work for 15 minutes, take a break for 15 and go do another 15. Let's put out those fires!

The daily focus for Wednesday is: anti-procrastination

Daily reminders

Baby-step no 8 - start your control journal by writing down your morning and evening routines

March habit is getting dressed to shoes www.flylady.net/d/habits-of-the-month/march/

Flykids mission: www.flylady.net/c/flykids.php?tzm=0. Hahaha not a chance my kids will agree to this one!

Happy flying.

Evening all,

I like the idea of HW club SC, my DS refuses point blank to go to actual HW club at school as he prefers doing it at home with me . I do like helping him, but we struggle with maths, he hates it, I love it and I have to be very patient with all his moaning and groaning.

I'm planning a big charity shop / tip run on Friday, so trying to gather all the clutter up. Other than that today just the usual daily stuff, swish and swipe, kitchen floor swept, a few hotspots put out.

mermaidsandunicorns · 07/03/2017 22:51

Evening all x
Just finished work had an awful awful shift. Got a colleague who reminds me of a dementor she literally sucks the happiness from everyone and she decided that I was her victim tonight. Anyway fuck her i now have wine and chocolate
Tadas

Hoovered
Dishwasher done
Washing load done
Beds made
Tea in slow cooker

Tomorrow I will have a deep clean upstairs

Sorry for moan xx

BluePheasant · 07/03/2017 23:28

I'm with you on the shite day at work mermaids. Don't have the awful colleague though thankfully, sounds horrible, fuck her indeed, glad you have wine and choc!
Am doing extra lists this month, meant to have been just a half day today and ended up covering someone who was poorly and staying 3 and a half hours longer. Didn't get chance to eat anything, have loads of reports to catch up on tomorrow and got wet feet walking home in the pissing rain, seemed to sum up the day!

WhoKnows I love dispatching with the gathered clutter! It's so cathartic. DH is doing a tip/ charity shop run for me on sat while I'm at work.

Bit of congealed white sauce never hurt anyone foxes Wink I am terrible for trying to do too much at once, I managed to cremate some mackerel fillets the other day, just wasn't keeping an eye on them. Even DD wouldn't eat them and she usually wolfs it down Blush

Ta das
Morning routine
Cleaned freezer drawers out
Food shop delivery put away
Ironing
Evening routine (done by DH)
Before bed routine

Out for a meal after work tomorrow but shouldn't be a late one, really want to try and tackle kettle pile.
Oh speaking of hotspots, I counted how many there are in the house. 14! Some of these come and go but many are permanent fixtures the gits!

Night all!

Castlelough · 08/03/2017 01:07

Late crash landing! Have read thread but too tired for personals but wanted to check in so I don't fall off the thread! Again! Didn't manage ironing, or laying out clothes or meal planning but did manage quite a bit today. And does tea and chocolate count on the ta-da list? BrewBrewCakeCake Have gotten into good habits regarding kitchen hot spots. Mine are the island, the dining table and the sink area. Am doing well at keeping these cleared off throughout the day and it makes a huge difference. Have plenty of other hot spots though! TooStressy I love the idea of 30 minutes to myself!

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/03/2017 05:28

We have to be out by 740 for lil zoo dance group...

Today's mission-a fire drill of kitchen surfaces?can I just call fire brigade as my forest fires are wayyy out of control?!

Afreshstartplease · 08/03/2017 06:31

My kettle pile has done a land slide again and is taking over entire worktop

Think today is just a matter of surviving, horrendous nights sleep last night.

Sweepingchange · 08/03/2017 08:10

Good morning all!

Wow! Everyone is mahoosively busy!

Sorry you are feeling rough Afreshstart; arf at kettle pile landslide! Brew

Oh no, feel guilty now Toostressy, if you weren't running this thread, you would have that precious half hour to yourself!! How about I do links tonight (Wed) and Thurs eve? ( I will be off again Fri-Tues.) Very happy to help! Smile Hope your cat is ok.

Sorry if I've missed it, but did you find the bank card Zoo? Hope so!

Congrats on piano lessons ¨Cag (and on raising helpful dc!)

Your colleague sounds awful Mermaid how stressful Brew

Well done re: good kitchen habits Castle!

Whoknows yes, I have the same issue. DD started at hwk club at school last year but stopped going, saying it was nicer at home [sigh] whereupon we were engaged in constant battles to get the wretched stuff done! It's a total nightly pain tbh!

It went ok last night though; changed the furniture around in the dining area, nice tablecloth, daffodils in vase, made apple pie, had Mozart on quietly in background... I was furtlering around in background, thought that would be enough, but no, turns out she wanted to sit at table with her for full time and study French Grin Still, it seems to have worked, as she has mahoosive WERO exam this morning that counts towards Easter report, and she went off feeling fairly confident... we shall see ... . I am impressed that you are able to help your ds with maths - I am utterly hopeless in that area ; can barely count! Grin And congrats on bags of decluttering!

Sorry about your long day yesterday BluePheasant and good luck with all your reports today! Hope you don't have to do over-time again!

Foxes the thing I find with white sauce and pastry, is that sometimes it just "happens" and sometimes it doesn't! Even when exact same ingreds and technique employed!
