Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

I've felt really tired past few days, hopefully not getting a bug! I've just burnt my hand on a baking tray Sad and everyone is stressing me outttttttt

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/03/2017 19:14

Oh dear, sorry people are having a rough time. Brew for Afresh, zoo and foxes.

zoo, perhaps you were all psyched up for today and then with it getting cancelled feels strange I'm sure. I can offer prosecco for the naughty corner Smile. Not opened yet, waiting for DC to go to bed but we are a bit late as DD2 back late from her party.

New job doesn't replace 'real job' but is some extra freelance work which now means I have a few freelance / supply type options which is great for the future. My real job really isn't compatible long term with school drop offs and pick ups etc so am looking for other options.

Sounds good toostressy

I've just become an aunty for the first time , I have a brand new nephew so we are raising a Wine, well we would be except I have DS in my bed fairly often these days so not drinking...So raising a Brew instead!

CotswoldStrife · 04/03/2017 21:33

Congrats to Stressy on the new job and to foxes on the new nephew! Grin. I cleaned my sink tonight, my Saturday nights rock!

BluePheasant · 04/03/2017 21:43

Aw congratulations foxes

I am flopping today too. Don't even know why I feel so tired. My period is massively overdue (100% not pregnant!) so maybe it's hormonal, feeling very PMT like today! Just been trying to sort out our holiday photos form Feb half term and it's just not working, can't seem to get them to go onto the laptop in order and has put me in an even worse mood!

Ta das
Dragged us all into town, took returns back. Got some new things for myself for a change Smile
Managed not to kill DH, my mood is horrendous today!

To dos

Bloody everything!
Go to bed and hope to wake up in a better mood tomorrow!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/03/2017 21:56

Here is the daily summary for Sunday...

All information also available on the Flylady website www.flylady.net. The

flight plan
should update every day.

We are in Zone 1 this week: the entrance, front porch and dining room

Spend 15 mins (or as much as you can manage if you can't do 15) decluttering in Zone 1.

When you have finished decluttering, (I am jealous!) the detailed cleaning list for Zone 1 is here

No missions or zone work (unless you want to) at weekends.

The daily focus for Sunday is: renew your spirit

Daily reminders (radio show times are probably not accurate for UK but can listen to previous shows/podcasts)

Baby-step no 5 - use kind words about yourself

March habit is getting dressed to shoes - a controversial one here. I find getting dressed early so important but don't wear shoes in the house www.flylady.net/d/habits-of-the-month/march/

Happy flying.

Blue, hope you feel better tomorrow. I am rubbish at sorting photos out and never really do it in any organised way. Thanks Cotswold, sounds like a productive Saturday night!

Exciting news foxes for you and your family Smile.

Big wing flaps to all. Goodnight.

I am running late in the month to be joining in but better late than never...the house has been turned upside down in January and February due to a case of extreme nesting, but the place is slowly returning to it's dishevelled self. Waves to all.xxx

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/03/2017 08:09

Hi Castle, welcome to the thread Smile

OP posts:
MercuryRising · 05/03/2017 08:20

Waves to Castle

Congratulations Foxes

Thank you for all of ds2s birthday wishes. We had a fantastic day.

This morning so far I have:
Cleaned the kitchen
Washed up
Hung a washload out
Put another in

I have weight watchers this morning (not convinced it will be a good result) and then I am taking dd and ds2 swimming whilst dp takes ds1 to see Lego Batman.

I need to do some ironing, hoover and find homes for ds2's new toys. I'm going to meal plan, but may leave the shop until tomorrow.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 05/03/2017 08:27

I'm joining in late again too, combination of a busy week and MN being very slow/stuck for me too.

Need to get up, get some washing on and do diary/menu planning for next week. I had a long day out in London yesterday, so crashed out early when I got back last night.

Zoo - hope you are feeling a bit better this morning, I'm prone to attacks of low mood too, I hate it.

Blue - I get overwhelmed by photos too, so many of them and managing them is so complicated.

Castle - hi, long time no see! Nesting?

Foxes - congratulations on new nephew

Stressy - well done on the job and thanks for running the thread.

Afreshstartplease · 05/03/2017 08:44

Welcome castle Does nesting mean you have a new baby? Or are expecting one very soon?

I put my photos in photobooks made online think it's a much easier way of doing it and always do it when there are good offers on

I left the kitchen in pretty good condition last night! No pots or bottles waiting to be washed at all. This is some kind of miracle in this house.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/03/2017 08:48

Hello all, Castle, I take it you've been in the group before then. Welcome back in that case! I joined in September. Waves to WhoKn0ws and Mercury. Glad you had a lovely day yesterday Mercury.

To do:-
Slightly strange Sunday here as DH is doing a run (nothing new there), DD2 and I are going to do the fun run but it clashes with a school disco for DD1 so another mum is kindly taking her. Then need to manage the run (run itself is only short) which also involves running with a friend's children. Aaagh. Plus it is raining Grin.

After that need to pick up DD1 and then go out for cat food otherwise our cat will not be impressed at teatime.

Tonight I really must do some online learning and a calendar check - too many diary clashes lately as I have not been disciplined enough to do a weekly calendar check.

BluePheasant · 05/03/2017 10:48

Morning all! Feeling soooo much better today, gloomy mood has lifted and feeling more motivated Smile

Ta das (joint effort with DH)

All dressed by 10 (that's good for me on a Sunday unless we're going out for the day Grin)
Cleaned kitchen
Shined sink
Load of washing on airer (too showery to hang out)
Waxed the kitchen table
Online food shop and rough meal plan done for week
Hoovered
Quick bathroom clean
Bag of old clothes ready for recycling

To dos

Have a cup of tea
Ironing
Make lasagne ready for tea later
Birthday cards to write and presents to wrap
Package up some things that have sold on eBay

BluePheasant · 05/03/2017 10:49

Enjoy the run stressy v impressed!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/03/2017 11:20

Run a joke! DH doing his run but so, so wet and cold that the other two children didn't want to come so just me and DD2 for fun run. Lashing wind and rain so gave up, didn't do it and now sitting in cafe waiting for DH!

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 05/03/2017 11:21

Cafe sounds better than running to me

Cagliostro · 05/03/2017 11:28

Just got back from mums. Need to catch up with the thread MN has been sooo slow 😡

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 05/03/2017 12:58

So I spectacularly dropped from last month's thread after a few days because DS went downhill with his reflux and we've spent quite a while surviving day to day to get through it. It looks like he's coming out of the other side of it now though so I'm going to jump back in here and try to regain control of our house!

Castlelough · 05/03/2017 13:23

Yes TooStressy I used to be on the thread a few years back but have been a bit useless at keeping up since dd1 arrived two years ago. AFreshStart and WhoKnows nesting was prior to dd2's arrival two weeks ago SmileSmile. Have had my brother, his wife and daughter to stay this weekend and they have just left. Dh has helped so much over the weekend and is just taking dd1 off to the playground so my plan is: read over March baby steps so far, prep dinner, reboot laundry, sort nappies (2 in cloth!), load dw and tidy up kitchen, shower and a nap for me, snuggles with dd2, baths for the girls and some financial planning....all in no particular order. Seems like a lot!

Castlelough · 05/03/2017 13:24

RosiePosie sorry to hear about reflux, you poor things.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/03/2017 15:04

Cag, it has been extremely slow for me too Angry. Oh that's great Castle, I used to follow flylady on and off fairly well but then fell off the wagon after DC1. I have two DDs age 6 and 4. Have found this thread so supportive and good for my very loose version of following flylady Smile. Congratulations on your DD2 FlowersBear.

Rosie, I'm lucky to have no direct experience but I think it is just a matter of survival a lot of the time with a baby with reflux Flowers.

Ta da:-
Back from run now and have picked DD1 up from disco
Dishwasher on
First load of muddy running stuff in wash
I've escaped to have a shower
Got cat food and also feeling pleased with myself because DD1 chose Mothers' day cards for DM and DMIL while we were in shop.

To do:-
DD1 homework / reading
Hopefully film or board game this afternoon (possibly optimistic but both had busy mornings so we can hope!)
Figure out tea for DDs - had meal planned a stew but DH angling for takeaway and since we didn't have one last time we were going to I think we can justify it - the stew stuff will keep.
Calendar check later - I am very ready for a glass of wine

Afresh, cafe was definitely better than running in the appalling weather!
