Fledglings marching into spring - the Flylady thread

Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Omg Zoo have you done all that already? Or do you have a super long to-do? You need to add at least 15 mins of feet up with a brew whilst nobody is around, take care of yourself!

Well I have not long woken up Blush Alarm went off at 8:30am and I thought nahhh and went right back to sleep lol. My excuse is a packed weekend and making the most of this next couple of months whilst baby is still inside me!!

Ta dahs

Afreshstartplease · 27/03/2017 10:07

OMG someone get me with the pointy stick please I am stuck to my sofa

Cagliostro · 27/03/2017 10:26

Afresh I think it's worse because it's Monday. Although it's hard to get appointments anyway - I'd booked on Wednesday last week and the earliest I could get was April 18th! Confused Anyway got through and someone is going to call me to discuss dates, health implications, medication etc. Hopefully I will then be able to book something too if I can get one earlier than 18th, or I'll have to keep phoning up for cancellations.

Currently trying to do food shopping online.

Cagliostro · 27/03/2017 10:26

foxessocks · 27/03/2017 11:26

I am never ever going to do my food shop in a real supermarket again. Back to online for me! That was awful. I need a cup of tea and a lie down.

foxessocks · 27/03/2017 11:27

Hi everyone btw! Will catch up properly later. When I've recovered!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/03/2017 11:37

Oh no foxes! Sorry I encouraged you Blush.

Morning all,

Ta da:-
Done some kind of made up exercise routine around the house this morning
Morning routine done
DD2 at activity
DD2 asking to eat chilli so that's tomorrow sorted as we can go to shop for the bits (not a big shop foxes!) and then make it tomorrow. Trying to have Tuesday as a food planning day.

To do:-
Go into work with DD2 for someone's leaving lunch. Am really not looking forward to this. The person concerned is lovely do feel obliged to go but really could do without dragging DD2 all the way in there (at least half an hour drive each way). Plus felt obliged to check work emails this morning and now will have to sort a couple of bits out while I am in there on my day off with a 4 year old. Ugh.
Try to phone Human Resources if time
School run

Cagliostro · 27/03/2017 11:50

Oh no Foxes it's hard doing that kind of thing with 2 little ones! I can't imagine life without online food shopping.

foxessocks · 27/03/2017 12:15

Haha don't worry toostressy I was determined to try it as I thought I might save some money. I didn't I spent more despite sticking to my list! Don't know what went wrong there!

Cag I only had the baby with me Blush but I still couldn't manage! He basically screamed the entire way round. People were staring. He was kind of slumping over in the trolley so I think people thought I was being cruel! I picked him up in the end and then has to try and load shopping and pack bags with one hand. Oh and before I picked him up he a dribbled all over the shopping list so I couldn't I read some of it. They'd run out of loads of stock and I couldn't find a couple of really basic items which meant I had to re think my meal plan on the way round!

Sorry. Enough about that! Back to online shopping, at least I tried it I guess!

Cag rubbish about the doctors. My doctor's is very good but think I'm lucky because everyone else at other surgeries in this area seem to really struggle getting appointments.

foxessocks · 27/03/2017 12:18

Afternoon everyone xx

Ds sent home again with suspected chicken pox - again! To be fair he does have lots more spots this time and they do look a lot more pox like
That's my week out then

Was utterly cream crackered after having everyone over yesterday I got up in the night and cleaned as couldn't face waking up to mess I then decided to iron as well and eventually went to bed at 2am (why do I do these things)

Washing done and hung out
Mopped
Went to work for a total of 4 minutes before school rang

Got to take ds2 to docs in a bit wish me luck

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/03/2017 13:22

mermaids good luck
As predicted I peaked early!
Thread in aibu about shoes off in houses and making guests wear slippers provided.divided between eeew unhygienic wear shoes indoors and meh we have kids/pets.long no obvs mud,who cares. Heavens to Betsy what they'd think of flyladys opinion on subject? (Not brave enough post on that nest of vipers)

Cagliostro · 27/03/2017 13:30

That sounds mega tough foxes 💐

Right so the doctor phoned me back, he's got me an early pregnancy appt with a midwife next week! I was offered one tomorrow (I guess that's the one day a week they're available) but I'm looking after a friend's kids all day. Must remind myself that a week won't make much difference (right?!). I can't believe how quickly this is all happening, two days ago I thought I just had a dodgy tummy 😂😱

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/03/2017 13:46

cag as long you on the folic acid a week will fly by of drag dreadfully if you feel rubbish

Cagliostro · 27/03/2017 14:12

Yeah definitely dragging in the nausea sense! 😂 But I am on folic acid :) and vit D too. Been given advice about my regular medication, so there's nothing else that needs doing ASAP really. The early scan would only be to determine a due date.

I'm sooo nervous about tonight and tomorrow. I'm looking after a friend's DCs for the day and we have to stay overnight in order to be there early enough for her to leave in there morning. I get nervous about that kind of thing as it is (especially staying at other houses) but when feeling this sick and tired it feels insurmountable 😳😳😳 I just want to curl up in bed!

Must actually get dressed in a minute, heading to Iceland quickly as I need something easy for dinner. Also determined to stretch my legs a little each day (I'm so unfit what the hell is pregnancy gonna do to me?!) so thought we may as well pop out rather than waiting to be picked up at 5.

foxessocks · 27/03/2017 15:12

cag does your friend know you're pregnant or are you waiting to tell people?

Ta das
Dishwasher emptied and loaded

To do
Everything else

Just got back from toddler group, baby asleep on me and dd watching paw patrol with cake. Dh just informed me he is going to be late tonight so I'm wondering how I'm going to fill the rest of the afternoon without just relying on TV...We've been out pretty much all day so I don't really fancy going anywhere even though weather is lovely. I'd go out in the garden but dd has a habit of making me get every single toy out and then she gets fed up within five minutes! I think we need to get some better toys for the garden actually.

Cagliostro · 27/03/2017 16:09

Foxes no this friend doesn't know. We have only told my parents and one of my other best friends. If it was anyone else I would let them know under the circumstances but I can't yet - basically her kids are adopted after years of fertility struggles and understandably she still finds it very difficult seeing close friends have babies and do all the stuff she didn't get to do. Obviously I will tell her, probably as soon as I've had a scan because she is one of my best friends and I don't want to keep secrets, but given that yesterday was Mother's Day (awful for her anyway but worse this year for various reasons) I just can't pile that on her right now! So I shall just get on with it and make sure my ginger biscuits and folic acid are well hidden in my bag!

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/03/2017 17:25

cag I get very anxious stay other peoples homes so badly I don't stay anywhere
Once you are busy actually watch them takes mind of nausea alittle
I always say you take better care other peoples Lida than your own.if you break one of yours its a whoops my bad.break someone else's another matter entirely....

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/03/2017 17:25

That makes sense Cag.

Ta da:-
Went into work
DDs' tea
Dishwasher on

Just about to put on washing machine
