Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Asda had no twiglets. Wankers.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 26/03/2017 15:03

Cag Grin. Aaagh miserable afternoon here with DD2. She is so scared of doing a poo on the toilet, sent her to her room as she was just screaming and upsetting DD1 and she has gone to sleep Shock. Now just wanting to poo in pants.

Am leaving her while DH sorts the garden out and gives me a chance to tidy room. Then need to figure out tea.

Bring on takeaway pizza later!

OP posts:
danigrace · 26/03/2017 16:08

Takeaway pizza sounds good!!

Ta das
Made lunch for parents and sister (DP working this morning)
Cleaned up after lunch
Went for a long walk with family

To do
Fold and put away clothes
Make dinner (why did I promise DP a Sunday roast even though I made lunch for fam?!)
Go to bed with a shiny sink & kitchen

Think I might have a little snooze on the sofa first though...

Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 16:12

I have achieved nothing in the house bar sticking a wash on! Oh I did make a pasta sauce because if DH had made it he'd have done it 'wrong' and I would have wanted to cry again so that's something. Fish fingers tonight, I'm having mine in sandwich (seed bread, mayo on one slice and ketchup on the other, lots of lettuce, OMG can't wait).

I have such a huge to do list but I am avoiding it!

foxessocks · 26/03/2017 16:14

I'm feeling really tired again today but have managed to do my daily routine so at least housework is fairly under control. Only doing the bare minimum today though! Dh and dd are busy making cakes for me and dh is cooking dinner tonight so that's good , we're having steak and Chips - my favourite! Dh has also weeded the front garden and I'm hoping he is going to put the washing line up in the garden ready for next week.

foxessocks · 26/03/2017 16:15

DD has been so whingey today it's ridiculous!!

foxessocks · 26/03/2017 16:15

cag your dinner sounds amazing!

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/03/2017 16:24

cag I want your tea --and local co op are out of fishfingersHmm

Would marmite help with the twiglet craving?not the same but marmite in cracker (with butter obvs) is crunchy/salty
(or ask dh make bit pastry roll thin and smear mix 50/50of ketchup and marmite.cut thin strips, twist and bake) not that I have a marmite obsession

Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 16:32

But but but... Marmite is gross Blush :o I know, I'm weird! I hate Marmite but Twiglets are the best! I got Chipsticks which will have to do for now. I got the smoothie I wanted too, so all is not lost.

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/03/2017 16:43

My badGrin

Cagliostro · 26/03/2017 18:43

If it's any consolation though sausage sandwiches are awesome xxx

Afreshstartplease · 26/03/2017 20:47

Sorry but marmite is the fucking BOMB!

And twiglets are yuck

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 26/03/2017 21:00

I am strange as I can take or leave marmite -I know it's meant to be a love / hate thing but I am somewhere in the middle. I do love twiglets though.

Well after a stressful middle part of the day we went to the cinema and had a nice time. Got to sit down, saw Beauty and the Beast, and DC relatively well behaved (within reason!). Going to do a 15 min blitz now then collapse. Didn't do takeaway in the end as found some leftover bolognaise sauce in the freezer Smile so we all had spag bol.

Cag, awesome tea. zoo, definitely sounds a good idea to write the day off and start again tomorrow.

Big wing flaps to SC, Cotswold, Purple, dani, mermaids, Afresh, foxes, WhoKn0ws, Castle, ndo and everyone else.

Here is the daily summary for Monday (also available on the Flyladywebsite at flight plan which should update automatically each day.

The daily focus for Monday is: weekly home blessing hour

reminders

Baby-step no 27 - what’s for dinner – menu planning

We are in Zone 5 for the start of this week: the living room

Spend 15 mins (or whatever you can manage) decluttering in Zone 5.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 5 is here
Mission:

This week we are in Zone 5, The Living Room and I want each and every one of you to go into your living rooms and stand there. While you are standing there I want you to look around you and look at the flat surfaces (end tables, coffee tables, tops of tv's/entertainment centers, bookcases, mantles, etc)

What do have on these surfaces? Are they the same decorative things that you have always had? Do you really love them? Are they cluttered up with too many things? Too many ducks, bunnies, candles, cows, precious moments etc? I am not condemning those things but asking you if they still bring you joy and do you still love seeing them in your living room? Or are you just used to them.

What about the piles of magazines and papers? Do you NEED those? You would be amazed at how much neater your living room will appear by just removing a few things.
How much easier would it be to dust these areas without all that stuff?

Your mission is to get rid of the stuff that is cluttering up your living room. Take 5 minutes to let go of some things. I am willing to bet that more of you will find you do want to get rid of some things because they do not bring you joy and you are just used to them being there.
Have fun!
