Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Hmm. I think I will look into this more. Dp is dead set on it though. even though he never washes up

foxessocks · 25/03/2017 08:11

I love my dishwasher!

Afreshstartplease · 25/03/2017 08:21

I think I'd want an integrated one so not to eat up too much floor space. How much of a pain are these to install ?

danigrace · 25/03/2017 08:27

Hope you've all had a good week!

Been a very busy one here but almost out the other side unscathed! Been out of the house before 8 most days and not in til 4:30pm/5pm but still managed to cook a proper dinner each night and keep on top of the laundry/dishes and sink/tidying and made it to all 3 evening antenatal exercise classes I attend.
Hoovered and did the bins but didn't get to any of the rest of my weekly home blessing, if I don't get to it over the weekend it will get done next week. And managed 2 x 15 min decluttering which is better than none!

No dishwasher here but no room for one (little terraced country cottage) so I need to keep telling myself doing dishes is therapeutic Grin

Glad you found your watch Stressy!

To dos:

  • morning routine
  • bake tea loaf (order placed by mum for mother's day, soaked my fruit last night)
  • clean inside car and go through car wash
  • 4 hours work and hopefully file a report
  • make proper lunch for DP and I (as I'm out for tea for a friends birthday)
  • 15 mins in baby's room-to-be
mermaidsandunicorns · 25/03/2017 13:15

I bought a dishwasher when we moved it has changed my life. It gets things properly clean if that makes sense?

Took ds's to town today to try and get their hair cut but the queue was too long so ended up in Poundland instead. Ds2 got stuck into weeding the paving in the back garden when we got back (gardener available for hire)

Off to work now til 11pm 😒

Xx

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/03/2017 13:30

Wish we had room for a dishwasherSad

Dd2 got face longer than a horses moan constant bout her throat (sigh)

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/03/2017 19:02

Cagliostro · 25/03/2017 19:58

Thanks Fledglings! I still can't quite believe it.

Ginger, that's a good shout. I remember nibbling on ginger snaps last time (8 flipping years ago! I never thought I'd be here again!)

Cagliostro · 25/03/2017 20:00

Speaking of smoothies I asked DH to get one this morning and he got the wrong type which made me want to cry. TBH that should've been a clue to my current predicament. 😂

foxessocks · 25/03/2017 20:22

cag really sorry if this sounds stalkery but I was reading the frugal thread because I lurk on there for ideas sometimes and noticed you on there and you mentioned maternity allowance as a self employed person. Well I'm currently claiming for that and you just have to have earned I think £30 a week minimum on average over a certain period of time (do check this as I can't quite remember the exact figures sorry!) Anyway I actually earn more now on maternity allowance than I did when I was working pre baby due to a slight loophole. I started thread on it on here and everything because I really thought it was a mistake!

Anyway I thought I'd let you know definitely look into it when you feel ready and sorry if I do sound like I'm stalking you I'm really not promise Blush

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 25/03/2017 20:22

Cag Grin. You'd said you had been feeling really tired lately as we'll hadn't you - perhaps it explains at least some of that. How exciting for you, especially after 8 years!

zoo, thanks for plumping the cushions. I can add Wine to the naughty corner (sorry Cag). Clocks yes! Must remember. At least phone does it automatically these days.

mermaids, hope work is not too awful. dani, hope tea load making went well. Afresh, any dishwasher decisions? Ours is integrated as we live in a new build and it was out in when we got the house although actually it was a whole saga getting it put in. So not much choice really. Integrated looks much better but presume harder to get at if problems. Although we've had ours fixed a couple of times with no issues. I guess the problem would be if you ever needed to move it out to get behind it.

Big wing flaps to all. DD2 just gone to sleep so going to do links, have a quick blitz and then hopefully sit on sofa Brew.

Yep Stressy I have been feeling so much worse lately. It's hard to tell sometimes because obviously having the conditions I have, I'm tired and achy a lot anyway. But it certainly has reached a whole new level lately. Which doesn't bode well for the duration. :( But what's done is done!

Ooh foxes I didn't know you lurked on frugaleers! (well obviously as that's the point of lurking I suppose) :o :o not stalkery at all! And thanks for info! :)

I will make DH get me that damn smoothie. And ginger biscuits. And twiglets, I totally need twiglets.

Don't worry about the wine in the naughty corner though, I don't drink really anyway and wine is yuck even without nausea :o I'm pretty much only on water usually as (luckily!) I really cut down on Pepsi/Dr Pepper type stuff since new year.

I got a couple of non-physical bits done today but now added phoning doctors to Monday's list because I'm really confused about dates due to my cycle being weird and symptoms being around for a good few weeks.

Cagliostro · 25/03/2017 22:13

Just caught up on posts, yay MiniStressy for the poo! (Don't you just love the glamorous parenting conversations?)
Re: dishwashers I sooooo want one. Nowhere to fit it in our tiny kitchen but if we move it's a priority.
Zoo it's so hard reassuring poorly kids! Does DD2 struggle with sensory stuff? Like clothes/noise/texture/taste etc? Just because my Caglet with sensory issues really REALLY can't handle illness it drives her crazy. And therefore me.
