Hello all and welcome to the March Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier. Jump in where you are.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others :).

Since last month seemed to be ok I'll follow the same format of personals throughout the day (or in the evening if I haven't had a chance in the day) and links in the evening. Please, though, let me know if you want me to change anything or if I have posted anything wrong.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks again SC and Cotswold as I have basically copied your notes again.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website www.flylady.net - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

You can post what we you done (ta das) and any to do lists if you want to- I definitely find this helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions toostressy the weather is looking pretty rubbish but not sure I can cope with soft play! My dd isn't too keen on it when she is on her own anyway. I don't have anyone to meet up with today Sad. Anyway I think a walk to the local park is probably the best idea, definitely need to wear them out!

Be back later as I'm being pestered for stories

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/03/2017 08:13

foxes not sure if you good with mess, but mine used love go park and picking up twigs, stones, feathers etc and making pictures with PVA glue when we got back.(or in other seasons paint back leaves and press onto paper to mark paper leaf prints?)we are very lucky we have lots green spaces and parks local yo us so we always have spaces to run and things to look at.last easter hol we walk to one early(730ish) and see lots baby bunnies.sometimes be up butt crack of dawn has advantagesGrin.I used try and get out fir a bit, snack and stories.toys out til lunch.but draw or colouring then out again, splash in puddles/local shop just for milk or bread, giving them a drawing of what to buy and let them help(wouldn't with big shop.I mad,not insaneGrin)another quiet activity then play til tea (spell outside if fine whilst I do jobs in kitchen)dp wasn't around to help much in early years and a loose routine stopped me losing will to live by 11am!
Tadas
Cat fed

foxessocks · 19/03/2017 09:27

Thanks zoo I don't mind a bit of mess! Think dd would love that , I'm not very good at crafty stuff and never know where to start. On a week day I'm on my own with them all day every day but i always have lots of plans , something about a Sunday on my own and I just don't know what to do!

Anyway we have had a nice morning reading stories in bed and now just putting baby down for a nap before we have a late breakfast. Then probably going to get out to the park and a walk to blow the cobwebs away and maybe attempt something crafty!!

No flying done whatsoever, unless you count getting us all up and dressed?!

ndo4000 · 19/03/2017 09:31

Up late this morning but it was genuinely lovely to have a clean sink and basin when I came downstairs!!! I'm on my waaaaaay!!! Smile

BluePheasant · 19/03/2017 09:59

Hi ndo I agree, one of the habits I really try to keep going daily even if nothing else gets done is clean the sink, dishes all done and table cleared and wiped ready for breakfast the next day. It really makes for a better start to the day to not have any mess to clear from the day before.

Slow start this morning, still in pjs Blush just about to give DD a bath and then we'll both get dressed. DH already up and has done some sanding and ripping up carpet on the lowest set of stairs. Have done first coat of paint on top two sets. Hoping now all the hard work is done we are nearly there with it and the painting can be done anytime so will probably do some later after DD in bed.

Ta das
Morning routine
Emptied bin and recycling.

To dos
DDs bath
Get dressed
Take returns to M&S
Pick up next order
Pick up replacement drawer runners from ScrewFix ( have persuaded DH to have a go at fixing DDs chest of drawers, fingers crossed it works!)
Get lightbulb for new lamp
Move floor lamp to other side of lounge
Hoover downstairs

That's enough for now!

Need to fit in a stomp through the woods at some point as we all need some fresh air even though the weather is dreary. We were going to visit PILs but thinking we might make our excuse this weekend, sometimes nice to have a weekend just the three of us. They have BIL and family round later anyway so that will keep them busy.

Right need to crack on!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 19/03/2017 14:05

Hello all, we are stuck in a car park after a race (DH did the run and DC and I did the fun run) Angry. Have been here for ages and it is gridlock Angry. Feeling the stress with DC in the car. Cag, great anti procrastination yesterday Smile.

BluePheasant, yes, doing some kind of activity with DC each day is almost essential if we want to burn off any of their limitless energy.

**

Here is the daily summary for Monday (also available on the Flyladywebsite at flight plan which should update automatically each day.

We are in Zone 4 this week: the master bedroom and en-suite if applicable

Spend 15 mins decluttering in Zone 4.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 4 is here

Mission:
Today I want you to spend 15 minutes getting rid of anything that does not belong in your bedroom. Things that have gotten thrown in a corner, on a chair or even the floor. The things that you almost don't even see because they have just become part of the room, get it out! If it does not belong there then out it goes!
This does not mean that you have to spend three hours in your bedroom, do what you can do for 15 minutes.

PS. Don't forget that if you miss a mission in your emails you can always get them at our website www.FlyLady.net and click on the Launch Pad.

The daily focus for Monday is: weekly home blessing hour

reminders

Baby-step no 20 - do a full load of laundry, wash, dry, put away I love this. I think when laundry is going well I am so much more organised :)

March habit is getting dressed to shoes www.flylady.net/d/habits-of-the-month/march/

Flykids mission: www.flylady.net/c/flykids.php?tzm=0

Happy flying.

Hi all. Gosh sorry about the nightmare car park thing. Well done everyone on today's achievements.

I've done nothing bar laundry and a tiny amount of throwing bits away. Had friends round, it was great we played loads of games and I did dinner. Achy as hell now though so haven't cleared up, DD has made herself a tent downstairs (DH pulled the table out before he left for work so we could play games on it) and I couldn't be arsed to argue when she asked to sleep in it. Just hope I feel better tomorrow as we have group meets the next couple of days and I don't want to let people down. :(

foxessocks · 19/03/2017 21:33

Oh "toostressy" don't be impressed because I failed to do any ironing!! I did do some more washing though. We had a bit of a stressful dinnertime with dd messing around and hardly eating anything so this evening I have been mainly eating chocolate doughnutsBlush

Going to read the stuff for tomorrow now so I'm prepared and motivated!

Hope you do feel better cag

foxessocks · 19/03/2017 21:33

Oops sorry toostressy total bold fail. I'm tired!

BluePheasant · 19/03/2017 21:33

Hope you feel better tomorrow Cag is hard work entertaining guests when you don't feel great.

Thanks toostressy Grin has been quite a productive day, the ironing didnt get done but there's not loads to do and there is always tomorrow!

Sinking feeling about this week's zone being master bedroom, ours is awful. At first glance it looks ok but look closely and it's full of random things that haven't found a home. Wardrobe rammed. Under the bed is a nightmare, that is a good couple of days work alone to sort out I reckon Blush Going to give the mission a good go tomorrow as at least it will make a dent in it!

Early start tomorrow for work, only doing a half day though which is quite nice.

Night night!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 19/03/2017 22:21

Cag Brew

OP posts:
foxessocks · 20/03/2017 07:25

Morning everyone! Cag how are you feeling today? Blue I find if I just do a small bit each day even if the room is total chaos it makes a huge difference by the end of the week.

I'm a bit smug with today's mission because my bedroom is quite tidy at the moment. I will attempt some decluttering though.

To do
Daily routine
Decluttering in bedroom
Ironing
Polish mirrors
Mop kitchen floor

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 20/03/2017 07:47

Morning all,
Think I'm actually going to do DDs' bedrooms this week rather than ours. Although ours is similar BluePheasant in that there is far too much clutter, it is contained in drawers etc. Whereas their bedrooms are quite messy atm. We could really do with redecorating them and getting much better storage for them but of course that all costs money so they need a tidy up in the meantime.

Ta da:
All up and dressed

To do:
Breakfast
School run
Exercise DVD
Bedroom decluttering
Mini food shop if time.

Hi all, I've not been on this thread for a while, or MN for that matter. It was MN really. I can find some of the posters on MN a bit bitchy especially on the chat threads. Its friendly on the Fledglings threads though so I will just have to keep myself here only from now on Smile Besides I need the motivation to keep me on track with the housework.

Todays list

take ds to pre-school
make beds
wash dishes
wipe over the loo
squirt bleach bleach down the loo
wipe over bathroom basin
tidy ds room
fold laundry
hoover downstairs
collect ds from pre-school
make tea
wash dishes
zoflora kitchen tops
bath ds
tidy living room

This is why I need motivation because the list is long today so I need to get on with it Blush

Cagliostro · 20/03/2017 08:59

Thanks all not feeling great this morning just trying to get the energy to figure out the plan for the day. Supposed to be at a friend's house for learning stuff and also I'm teaching their DC. Then another epic day tomorrow too with teaching and visiting etc. We are in a couple of learning co-ops, they are roughly once a month ish but normally they don't end up in the same week!
