Fledglings flapping and flying in February - the Flylady thread

Hello all and welcome to the February Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others Smile.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks so much for doing the December and January threads Cotsowold.

We are in zone 5 for the first few days of the month.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

I can't figure out how to post the individual missions (I will get better, I hope!) so as a treat here is the sneak peak for the rest of the week which has all the missions www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions

Feb 1st's mission is to clean our vents!!

If you have already decluttered then you could start some detailed cleaning www.flylady.net/d/zones/detailed-cleaning-zone-5/

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread Smile. Sometimes the Flylady website takes a little while to catch up on a new month.

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

I'll post the baby step and Wednesday's daily focus next.

Oooh love a bit of mac n cheese. It's DS' absolute favourite.

Yay grey! Awesome news x2 there!

Annoying Who about the half terms! It's been very confusing here as we do activities in Sussex and Surrey, so two different half terms this time. I should really update my diary to reflect this. Hmm I hope you can find a childcare solution though.

I haven't built the shelves yet, wave of pain hit me! I watched some TV until DSD reminded me I had something to sort out online. I'm going to open one of the boxes now though.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 07/02/2017 22:18

We're Hampshire/Surrry Cag. Easter is just as bad, one week overlap. We have just about sorted the half terms but not even thought about Easter yet.

Cagliostro · 07/02/2017 22:38

Oh no! I suppose that makes sense as Easter changes so often :( it's nothing more than a little annoying for us, as it's only the different clubs we have to keep track of, must be a total nightmare trying to sort childcare and stuff. :( Thanks

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 06:09

Ooh a caglet Starhow exciting
scuttl be paid to fly in other peoples homes way more motivating than clear up behind thankless family members

Mac n cheese used be a zoolets fave, but dairy free cheese doesn't cut the mustard. Dd2 sneaks it in at school lunch mutters under breath o want some poor lil zoo,she loved dairySad
Congrats grey (not on man flu Tho)

Afreshstartplease · 08/02/2017 07:03

Just catching up from yesterday!

RE shiny surfaces, my microwave is black and shiny. Well it's meant to be. Since I can't even keep that looking good there is no hope!

Mac cheese is a favorite in this house too but I can't make it for shit. We are currently doing a very loose version of the milk ladder with DC3 and TBH it's going well. She can manage chocolate, pizza and cheese spread anyway.

zoo that sounds horrific with your jaw, I think I would have freaked the fuck out!

Ta Da So Far

Dryer on

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 07:20

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 07:21

Lunch,not lynch(though when she's in stressy mode,very tempting.....)

foxessocks · 08/02/2017 08:36

zoo I once dislocated my jaw when yawning. I actually had to go to a&e and have it put back, it was awful. You had a lucky escape - when you feel a yawn just gently hold your chin up so it doesn't stretch too fair, it will reassure you. I still do this now years and years later! I do have a clicky jaw though.

We have cauliflower Mac and cheese here it's delicious!

Ds slept so badly last night and I've woken up with a headache and pretty much lost my voice. DD has got an injection today so she has gone with dh. I've got to go to the opticians so really need to get up.

To do
Get ready and go to my appointment
Daily routine
Mission- clean windows?
Declutter in kitchen
Strip beds

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 09:32

foxesI too have clicky jaw.never pop it out before tho.scared self as apparently once happened can do it again (makes note to self clench teeth together when yawning from now on.always)

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 11:19

Tadas(supplemental)
2load in dryer,3rd on
Mission-clean windowsdone also did frames and vents for first time

As I need a chair to reach top windows(short arse)I spotted top cupboards looking pretty unsavoury.wiped those two, then spotted top fridge freezer as bad,and the air vent.be taller makes more work as if I can't see it I don't gave to clean itGrin

Also cleaned sills and clear off empty coffee jars etc dp leaves on them.dead head cyclamen and ponder when cut back my mini roses. Anyone knows when to do that?

Empty one cupboard, wipe out and reorganize

PurpleDaisies · 08/02/2017 11:22

I've had a quiet start to the day (quiet being a euphemism for "lazy"). B and q have reduced the paint we're planning on using in the whole house so it's a trip there next. Plus a big tidy in the kitchen and a food shop.

Really must get started...

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 12:44

Need a motivational pointy stick purple?
----------->

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 12:47

Had lunch,wash up
Next task, another cupboard(there are only 4single ones in my woefully inadequate council house kitchen).
Means plastic boxes stuff under stairs(sigh).one thing ud live is a big kitchen with LOTS cupboards

foxessocks · 08/02/2017 12:54

ta das
Daily routine all done
Been to the optician
DD lunch

To do
Clean windows kitchen
Declutter in kitchen
Strip beds

PurpleDaisies · 08/02/2017 12:59

Thanks zoo. Grin

I'm dithering between two practically identical paint colours before I go to B and Q. Why do they make paints in so many colours? If there was just one I'm sure I'd like it. Arghh. Decisions.

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 13:12

My solution to sweets purple when I am undecided is to buy --and eat both.sadly that doesn't help with non food items!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 13:14

Whoops,try that again
Buy and eat both

I am zoo and I am a greedy carb/sugar junkieGrin

PurpleDaisies · 08/02/2017 13:42

That's brilliant zoo. Grin.
I'm just going to buy the one I think is best and paint it. I'm sure it will be miles better than the nicotine yellow cream colour that's there at the moment. We're planning on doing a full redecoration of the kitchen in a few years anyway so if I don't like the colour we can change it then.

Right. I'm leaving the house. Honest. How on earth is it nearly 2pm?

CotswoldStrife · 08/02/2017 13:47

No flying this morning, been out doing craft things - loved it! Now had lunch and need to make a list of items for shopping, and do all the stuff I dodged yesterday. I have a bit of extra time today before I pick DD up so not beyond the realms of possibility.

Second lot of dancewear that I ordered has already arrived Star so that's one emergency averted! And DD managed to head off to school without the aid of Calpol this morning so hopefully she is on the mend. zoo I hope your daughter's throat improves, she's had that for so long now!

Will crack on and be back later on.

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 13:49

I know, days racing along even though I have zoolets here normally drags by when have poorlys at home

Sounds like a good plan purple
to get away from zoo Smile

I forgot to add I de cluttered a chocolate mini roll I "found" when I cleaned out that cupboardGrin

Right I want a second cupboard done before I totally run out of steam
5th load wash is now in 4th in dryer

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 13:51

wildly in air just in case Cotswold still lurking and needs it>Grin
(You know its meant kindly Cotswold)

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 13:52

PS wish I'd been crafting all morning

And ds2 throats still scarlet, but not hurting.diagnosis is suspects allergic reaction and when gets cols that's why she gets so much discomfort
On antihistamines. Due review in a week or two.she's not had a cold in over a fortnight(touches head and all available wooden surfaces)

Afreshstartplease · 08/02/2017 13:54

OMG

I need the motivational stick

I've done next to nothing and only an hour til school run

Cagliostro · 08/02/2017 13:57

Could've sworn I posted on here today Hmm

Anyway went to GP, DH picked up medicine for me. Edited my letter as the original version was useless 😡 And now back home for hotdogs and I'm starting to fill the door shelves while the Caglets do their work

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 14:13
