Hello all and welcome to the February Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others Smile.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks so much for doing the December and January threads Cotsowold.

We are in zone 5 for the first few days of the month.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

I can't figure out how to post the individual missions (I will get better, I hope!) so as a treat here is the sneak peak for the rest of the week which has all the missions www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions

Feb 1st's mission is to clean our vents!!

If you have already decluttered then you could start some detailed cleaning www.flylady.net/d/zones/detailed-cleaning-zone-5/

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread Smile. Sometimes the Flylady website takes a little while to catch up on a new month.

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

I'll post the baby step and Wednesday's daily focus next.

Cagliostro · 08/02/2017 16:06

I have managed to look in some BRCs today! A few bits chucked and rehomed. Lately I've always ended up panic tidying at literally the last possible minute before pupil arrives at 8pm so I'm quite pleased I've managed to do better than that. Caglets helped a bit too. They're now playing Wii Fit, we dug it out as DD was doing yoga at the bus stop yesterday. Hmm :o

Need to put a wash on, wouldn't bother but I need to give my friend back the jumper I borrowed! Must pack for tomorrow as well - busy day, a friend is coming round in the morning for her DS to try maths with me :) and then we'll be getting the bus to home ed gym together, so won't have time to pack. Need Badgers uniform, library books to return, gym stuff, a few bits (including jumper) for friend...

Afreshstartplease · 08/02/2017 16:21

Ty for the stick zoo

Before school run I -

Washed all pots
Washed bottles
Sterilised half bottles
Tidied table and worktops
Wiped table and worktops
Emptied dryer and half put away
Put on washer
Swept kitchen
Emptied both bins
Started online shop
Tidied the crap behind the door
Matched some odd socks

Not bad I don't think!

PurpleDaisies · 08/02/2017 17:17

The stick worked! I've been out for a mega trip and come back again. The paint I wanted is being discontinued in B and Q so saved a fortune but my local one only had one tin of a colour I needed two of so it was a trek to another and I've got what I wanted. Five tins, £60 cheaper than it should have been and all I have to do now is start painting...

I've also managed a mega food shop with some bargains for tea and a trip to the charity shop. I am now officially back on the sofa.

foxessocks · 08/02/2017 17:20

I need to carry on tidying up. For all the BRC-sorting the living room is still a bit of a tip.

Cagliostro · 08/02/2017 17:58

foxessocks · 08/02/2017 19:35

Beds all changes thanks to dh! Happy days. Now time to try desperately to get this baby to SLEEP. Apparently he doesn't want to sleep anymore. Ever. And when he feeds he whacks me repeatedly and occasionally bites. Ouch. Any baby experts out there care to shed any light on this out of control 5 month old?!

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/02/2017 19:50

He's testing touch and feel with hands and mouth.biting-a loud squeal terrifies some baby's to stop (I've heard)I stuck finger into their mouths to break the sucking latch and remove Boob.soon get fed up biting disrupts mealtimes (disclaimer.worked on mine, can't guarantee non zoo gene childrenGrin)

Here is the daily summary for Thursday...

All information also available on the Flylady website www.flylady.net. The

flight plan
should update every day.

We are in Zone 2 this week: the kitchen

Spend 15 mins (or what you can manage) decluttering in Zone 2.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 2 is here

The mission for the day is: we are decluttering this month and I bet your trash can is getting a beating. Today let's take the trash out and wash out the can. Wipe the outside of debris, food, and spills. I like to spray mine with Lysol every time I take the garbage out.

The daily focus for Thursday is: errand day

The monthly habit for February is to declutter for 15 mins a day which is a brilliant habit!

Daily reminders reminders (radio show times are probably not accurate for UK but can listen to previous shows/podcasts)

Flykids mission:
Today we are going to go after all those video game discs, music discs, dvds and video tapes.

It is time to gather them all up from wherever they are in the house. Put them back into their cases or wherever their proper home is. I know that they end up on the floor, on top of the tv, the tables and more! While you are doing this if you find things that you just do not love or play with anymore, take them to Mom or Dad and let them know that you are ready to bless someone else with them. Remember what I always say: less stuff to clean and put away means more time to play!

Happy flying.

Thanks for the links. My flying mojo is missing in action but the fear of the pointy stick is definitely good enough to get me moving!

I've got an early start with taking the guinea pig to the vet for yet another routine dental but I think that's good. I'm having a major wobble about some paint I bought today so I'm going to paint the wall with it and see if I like it. It's just a bit more purple than I thought it would be.

I'm going to do my very delayed hour of home cleaning. It's amazing what a difference it makes if it isn't done.
