Fledglings flapping and flying in February - the Flylady thread

Hello all and welcome to the February Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others Smile.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks so much for doing the December and January threads Cotsowold.

We are in zone 5 for the first few days of the month.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

I can't figure out how to post the individual missions (I will get better, I hope!) so as a treat here is the sneak peak for the rest of the week which has all the missions www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions

Feb 1st's mission is to clean our vents!!

If you have already decluttered then you could start some detailed cleaning www.flylady.net/d/zones/detailed-cleaning-zone-5/

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread Smile. Sometimes the Flylady website takes a little while to catch up on a new month.

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

I'll post the baby step and Wednesday's daily focus next.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 06/02/2017 22:02

Here is the daily summary for Tuesday...

All information also available on the Flylady website www.flylady.net. The flight plan should update every day.

We are in Zone 2 this week: the kitchen

Spend 15 mins (or what you can manage) decluttering in Zone 2.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 2 is here

The mission for the day is:-
Since we are in February and we are establishing the habit of decluttering 15 minutes, take that time and put out a hot spot in your kitchen. Let's start with the one on your counter. Set your timer for 15 minutes and go!

The daily focus for Tuesday is: planning. Might try to have a look at this one with DD2 tomorrow. I could definitely be a better planner and now that I have dropped my hours at work am hoping to have the time to do it a bit more (famous last words).

The monthly habit for February is to declutter for 15 mins a day which is a brilliant habit!

Daily reminders reminders (radio show times are probably not accurate for UK but can listen to previous shows/podcasts)

Baby-step no 7 - pick out the clothes you are going to wear tomorrow the night before

Lots of people swear by this tip. I don't really plan an entire outfit. Frankly I have so few really good clothes that it takes me about 2 seconds to choose in the morning. DD1 sorts herself out if not in school and on school days I get out her clothes quickly in the morning. DD2 is a law unto herself and getting her to choose any outfit is a challenge every morning - she changes her mind frequently and it just wouldn't work to lay them out. I do try to ensure they are all washed and ready to get out though so I suppose do follow it slightly. DH more than capable of sorting himself out. I do try to get my work uniform out the night before.

Flykids mission hasn't updated yet so feel free to make one up if your DC or you want to do one.

Happy flying.

I think motivation does dive a bit in February, certainly nothing to do with your rather fabulous thread leading skills Stressy.

Zoo, pant level critical had me howling possibly because I'm in danger of it applying to my own drawer

DD has only needed a couple of doses of calpol today and has managed all activities. I'm sneezing too, the cold seems to be having a brief resurgence but I think we've beaten it really. She does have a croaky voice though.

Cleaned most of the dishes today, slow-cooker tea and ordered extra dancewear that DD will need via eBay so can collect from local supermarket (haven't done this bit before but have seen the signs!) later in week. Few loads of laundry done and hung up - school skirts past critical level today tbh - and bought a picture for the kitchen from the chazza (charity shop).

Will press on tomorrow, in the hope of going out on Wednesday morning (there is a crafting activity I'd like to try). Really need to book a haircut, this means finding a new hairdresser though Confused

G'night all!

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 06/02/2017 23:39

Stressy - I ran the Feb thread last year and I've never seen it so quiet (been on here for 7 years). I thought I had killed it. But I needn't have worried, it got going again after a few weeks Smile

Afreshstartplease · 07/02/2017 06:59

Morning all! I don't have earache Grin

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/02/2017 07:13

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/02/2017 07:40

Aww thanks guys, I wasn't fishing for compliments but I'll take them Smile. Glad no earache Afresh. WhoKn0ws, wow 7 years? How long has this thread been going then? Cotswold, glad your DD feeling a bit better.

DD2 woke up at 2:30 am and decided it was morning Hmm so not exactly feeling refreshed this morning. I do realise for those with babies that is a normal night though. Going to get on now and get ready for school, will be back later.

foxessocks · 07/02/2017 08:33

toostressy you're doing a fab job don't worry! I'm not feeling at all refreshed either. Ds was up so many times last night I lost count Brew

Busy day here but am going to try to get all the stuff done if I can. Best get up and get going. Dh has had a late start today so he is giving dd breakfast but he'll have to leave in a minute.
