Fledglings flapping and flying in February - the Flylady thread

Hello all and welcome to the February Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others Smile.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks so much for doing the December and January threads Cotsowold.

We are in zone 5 for the first few days of the month.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

I can't figure out how to post the individual missions (I will get better, I hope!) so as a treat here is the sneak peak for the rest of the week which has all the missions www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions

Feb 1st's mission is to clean our vents!!

If you have already decluttered then you could start some detailed cleaning www.flylady.net/d/zones/detailed-cleaning-zone-5/

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread Smile. Sometimes the Flylady website takes a little while to catch up on a new month.

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

I'll post the baby step and Wednesday's daily focus next.

See MN useful source of info! Sorry you've had such a rubbish day FlowersCakeBrewWinewhatever you want or need most. Hope you have some real life versions!

Afreshstartplease · 17/02/2017 16:23

Funnily enough I've just had tea and cake!

I'm not really a drinker unless I go out. Drinking in the house just knocks me out

Have my roses from Valentine's Day

So yep not doing bad for real life versions!

I really should move all the clean dry washing off the kitchen floor ....

foxessocks · 17/02/2017 17:30

Ta das
Bathroom mats and towels all changed
Decluttered two shelves in DS bedroom.
Put more laundry on

Don't think I'm going to finish my to do list today, I'm starting to get a bit of a Friday feeling...Dh has ordered takeaway and given dd a sandwich for her dinner Blush mean parents!

foxessocks · 17/02/2017 17:31

Might go and have a bath actually. Then I can clean the bathroom while the water is running!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 17/02/2017 17:47

foxes now that is proper multitasking Wink

We had a busy and slightly stressful day of trying to get the big food shop done without DH's help which was made more difficult because I forgot it's half term and town would be extra busy...

Ta da:
Animals fed
2 loads of laundry done
Big food shop done and out away
Kitchen bin put out
Orange bin brought in from kerb
Dinners planned for the next week
Meeting with solicitor
Health visitor visit
Floors swept

I'm now settled back in on the sofa for an evening of baby cuddles and terrible tv Smile
Hope you soon start feeling better afresh

foxessocks · 17/02/2017 18:46

Rosie baby cuddles and rubbish TV is what I do every night too!

Had my bath and cleaned the bathroom, I like to fit jobs in when I have a couple of minutes where I'd otherwise be doing nothing like when the kettle is boiling. Dh thinks I'm a bit mad but it works for me!! Smile

Not finished my to do list but hey it's Friday and I had a good go.

Got to get dd to bed and then try and settle DS who is still very snotty and struggling to feed Sad

foxessocks · 17/02/2017 18:46

Haha sorry Rosie that implied that you watch rubbish TV every night which I'm sure you don't, that's just me!

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/02/2017 19:24

Hi all :) no productivity at all here today but I guess we did family fun day a day early. My oldest friends came up for the afternoon and we played some board games :o including one that's been sitting in my cupboard for months untouched as it looked so complicated!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 17/02/2017 22:23

Fab name mermaids. Cag, sounds like lovely family fun Smile.

We finally finished tidying stuff up and changing sheets etc so I am going to collapse.

Thanks for links. Only 10 more days to do, can't believe this was your first month stressy you're smashing it :o Star

Must try and be productive tomorrow. DD is out for the day with friends, and DS actually just really wants a day watching telly and playing (we don't have the TV on much during the week lately) so DH and I can hopefully tackle the hideous mess that is the bedroom!

Do you have lavender oil? A compress made from a wedge of kitchen roll/cotton wool with hot (previously boiled) water and lavender oil pressed against the ear can be quite comforting.

I haven't got up yet, DH got DD up and packed for a day out with friends and he's taking DS into town for a bit but mostly it's a day in for the three of us.
