Fledglings flapping and flying in February - the Flylady thread

Hello all and welcome to the February Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others Smile.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks so much for doing the December and January threads Cotsowold.

We are in zone 5 for the first few days of the month.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

I can't figure out how to post the individual missions (I will get better, I hope!) so as a treat here is the sneak peak for the rest of the week which has all the missions www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions

Feb 1st's mission is to clean our vents!!

If you have already decluttered then you could start some detailed cleaning www.flylady.net/d/zones/detailed-cleaning-zone-5/

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread Smile. Sometimes the Flylady website takes a little while to catch up on a new month.

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

I'll post the baby step and Wednesday's daily focus next.

Waves to fool proffers a banana muffin warm from the oven

foxes I lack your patience.I'd want to check it out before fri, purely on grounds you can report back here on the quality etcWink

I made tea, cleared away and was lured back to comfy sofa.

Is all systems go tomorrow as I have 2hours on community cafe trailing zoolets(thankfully most volunteers have kids so its like a 7yr old + playgroup!!) Then it's a tooth out fir dd2(big ones growing in and it's a baby refusing to come out). I can't tell her til tom as she gets really anxious and whittles til my nerves snap if told in advance.D's off to boost-a trampoline place where you can literally bounce off the walls after that(friends dads do the pick up/returning as it's in an industrial estate)
Dp taking me to Argos after he Finish's shift at 3 to collect replacement nutribullet blades and an unbreakable flask for dd2, to take soup in fir school lunches after half term.
At some point after dentist and before Argos need home bleurgh and make a batch banana muffins!!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 13/02/2017 21:58

foxes, zoo and Cotswold thank you for the inspiration - had got DH some chocolates for Valentine's Day (mainly so kids could share too) but had been toying with what else to do. Couldn't get to M&S type places for a dine in meal deal type thing but your talk of food shopping prompted me to suggest we have a takeaway of his choice - sorted! zoo, brilliant cat photo Smile. Our cat is chillaxing, she relaxes with us in the evening as she knows when DDs are around there is not much relaxing although she does sometimes grace them with her presence Grin. Cotswold, I often catch people late Wink. Purple, seems as if you have the right idea directing DH! I bet you are both ready for half term. Fooland, good to hear from you Smile. Sounds busy tomorrow, good luck zoo.

We also have a busy day so not anticipating much flying. Off to visit a fun park type place with a friend and her DD.

I was quite productive this afternoon!!
Ta da:-
Calendar check
Laundry
10 mins decluttering (maybe even 15!) - I am trying to concentrate on my other room this week in zone 3 as the study / spare room. We have my in-laws coming this weekend. Usually what happens is each time the spare room is needed DH does a stash and dash and stuff gets put into our cupboard of doom in the living room. Hoping to avoid or reduce that this time.

To do:
Still need to do some preschool admin as have not got round to that yet. Eek and write Valentine's card.

Hello to everyone! Happy Valentine's Day Flowers Wine.

Here is the daily summary for Tuesday...

All information also available on the Flylady website www.flylady.net. The

flight plan
should update every day.

We are in Zone 3 this week: the bathroom and one other room

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 3 is here

Spend 15 mins (or what you can manage) decluttering in Zone 3

Mission:
Today we are going to make time for the office! I want you to pick a pile and set your timer for 15 minutes to go through it. Don't pick up more than you can get through in 15 minutes. I do not want you to overwhelm yourself. Rely on your timer for this mission.

The daily focus for Tuesday is: planning. since I planned to look at this last week and didn't get round to it ; I might attempt it again tomorrow.

The monthly habit for February is to declutter for 15 mins a day which is a brilliant habit!

Daily reminders:
reminders

Baby-step no 14 - read the essay about using a calendar such a useful habit and life goes more easily with an organised calendar or similar :)

Flykids mission
Hmm Flylady website is showing the same closet one still. So I guess go back in and see if you can find any more clothes on the cupboard floor or have a quick kids' clothes / your clothes tidy.
Have fun!

Happy flying.

We don't really have any Valentines plans unless it's something breakfasty! DH is working a late shift.

Love the cat pic!

Actually managed ok today. Did maths, spellings, typing, Japanese, recorder and history today with the Caglets and they had lots of time to play too. And I actually managed to read to both of them at bedtime. For myself, I played some piano and did a bit of wii fit along with the Caglets (about all I can manage at the moment - baby steps). Did a halfway decent dinner (getting SO bored with pasta mind you - I do different sauces and today actually managed to get some tuna into the Caglets, but still, I crave something different!).

Now just trying to catch up on blogging, supposed to do a diary post every week! Blush

Oh and the random crap from yesterday is still on the bed! I just slept on the other half of it last night Blush which was rather awkward when DS wandered in post-nightmare wanting to join me.

Cagliostro · 13/02/2017 22:34

Oh and I did laundry too. Well, supervised the Caglets doing it mostly. 2 loads washed and the dryer's just finished.

PurpleDaisies · 13/02/2017 23:31

It's been a very nice day here. Guinea pig is back to full strength (thank goodness) and I've crocheted approximately 250m of wool into half a baby blanket. Who needs days out? Sofa, crochet hook, cup of tea and sky box sets is a perfect half term combo.

Tomorrow there needs to be laundry and a trip to the tip. A romantic Valentine's Day for us. Grin

CotswoldStrife · 13/02/2017 23:37

DD has a baby tooth and an adult tooth behind it - the dentist is watching it, but said confidently last time that another adult tooth was coming in above it and would shortly push it out. I had a good look tonight and the second adult tooth is almost through the gum but looks to me as if it is coming down in front of the baby tooth - three teeth deep at that point! If the baby tooth doesn't come out I may have to ring the dentist for advice!

Not much flying done tbh, but DD seems to have another cold so it may be a quiet day tomorrow. Flap on, fledglings!

Cagliostro · 13/02/2017 23:49

Just cleared the top of the tumble dryer. Worst hot spot in the kitchen. Euuuuwww. Now just has the laundry basket on top! Hoping that can deter us from putting other crap on it. For a few days at least. Hmm

FoolandFitz · 14/02/2017 08:07

I awoke to DP and DS giving me flowers and a card. Very lovely. Luckily, I had bought DP a card this year. Smile

That's about it for our Valentine's celebrations. DP is off out tonight and I am working late so we see each other only briefly. DS says he wants a card too so I might do a quick card from one of his cuddlies.

Ta-da
Made bed

Cagliostro · 14/02/2017 08:31

Morning Fledglings!

Sleepy but need to get up and go. DH was really annoyed with himself last night, as he went to Tesco on the way home to get shopping (nothing in for breakfast) got to the rill and realised he'd left his cards at work! 🙄😳 So I suggested valentines breakfast instead. Problem solved! Will have to drag some shopping back with me after though as DH will be going on to work.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 14/02/2017 08:59

Morning all, just had breakfast here and need to start making packed lunch now for our day out. DH worked last night and is asleep so am trying to keep DC quiet ish while I make lunch then we will get out!
