Fledglings flapping and flying in February - the Flylady thread

Hello all and welcome to the February Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others Smile.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks so much for doing the December and January threads Cotsowold.

We are in zone 5 for the first few days of the month.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

I can't figure out how to post the individual missions (I will get better, I hope!) so as a treat here is the sneak peak for the rest of the week which has all the missions www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions

Feb 1st's mission is to clean our vents!!

If you have already decluttered then you could start some detailed cleaning www.flylady.net/d/zones/detailed-cleaning-zone-5/

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread Smile. Sometimes the Flylady website takes a little while to catch up on a new month.

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

I'll post the baby step and Wednesday's daily focus next.

Ahh that makes sense, thanks. I think that is the way to go when they are older. I have tried putting things in food bags before and DD2 just empties them all. Might be Tupperware boxes for now. Although actually that might work with bags sealed inside Tupperware Smile. DDs are definitely set remakers.

Here is the daily summary for Sunday...

All information also available on the Flylady website www.flylady.net. The

flight plan
should update every day.

Baby-step no 12 - delete the digital clutter of Flylady emails from your inbox or just don't sign up for them in the first place or opt out of receiving them!

We are in Zone 2 this week: the kitchen

Spend 15 mins (or what you can manage) decluttering in Zone 2.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 2 is here

No mission as it is the weekend

Daily focus for Sunday is renew your spirit
www.flylady.net/d/daily-focus/daily-focus-sunday/

The monthly habit for February is to declutter for 15 mins a day which is a brilliant habit!

Thanks Stressy :)

Didn't get more BRCs done but at least I did a bit. So that's something. Definitely achieved family fun as well - normally Saturdays fly by in a haze of nothing, but we managed to play games, even DH and I did play some instead of zoning out in front of the telly while waiting for DD to go to sleep (she's still not asleep :( :( ). Another wash is on.

PurpleDaisies · 11/02/2017 23:25

Poor mr guinea pig is still quite dirty for himself. We're hand feeding him and massaging his abdomen to try and get his gut moving properly again and been completely obsessed with whether he's done a poo or not. He's still quiet but seems more comfortable now. We're going to carry on feeding him through the night and see if he needs to go back to the vets in the morning. Sleep is overrated anyway. Smile

PurpleDaisies · 11/02/2017 23:25

That should say "sorry" not "dirty". Smile

foxessocks · 12/02/2017 09:04

Hope your gp ok this morning purple

I'm still in bed but quick to do list for today. Dh is tackling the hoover now which is good.

I was supposed to have one of those days yesterday. Didn't happen 😳🙄

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 12/02/2017 09:32

Morning all. Managed to doze until 8:30 this morning while DDs played lego with DH Smile. Amazing. Am a bit disorganised now as we have a party to go to and I did a terrible before bed routine (old bag half unpacked to transfer stuff to new bag Hmm) so need to get on. Worth it for the lie in though.

Ta da:
Nothing yet except girls dressed and we have had breakfast

To do:
Everything including wrap a present for this party (had to abandon it yesterday as DD2 decided she wanted to keep the present for herself so had to put it away to do today).

It was a long night but he's looking miles better this morning. He's deflated (full of gas before!) and is eating on his own, plus passing more normal looking bowel motions. We'll continue hand feeding and see if he needs to see the vet tomorrow but it looks like the drugs, hand feeding and massage have worked. How can something so small cause so much worry? Grin

Afreshstartplease · 12/02/2017 10:00

Me too cag

Hopefully it'll actually happen today

Ta Da

Washer on
Dryer on
Steriliser on
Two worktops clear and clean

purple glad Piggy's perking up.how can something so small be such a worry babies/kids are same!!

cag I am also struggling RBC and no desire deal with them today or any other day

afresh good luck on the clear up

Dd1 came flying visit which was lovely today.she finishes uni in may (how the dickens has that come so quickly?) And knee deep in coursework. This project is 75%of final grade and she's stressing like mad!was fab see her, first time since xmas

Cagliostro · 12/02/2017 15:34

My legs are currently buried under a BRC! I have run out of steam! Must... continue... aaargh!

I also need to find the damn printer cables. We've had printer issues for a while but when they sent the replacement they didn't send new cables (fair enough) - then they didn't send the right ink and stuff so it all got delayed, and in the meantime I've lost the cables...

Cagliostro · 12/02/2017 15:36

Actually TBH the only reason I'm even attempting BRCs this weekend is because I'm hoping the cables may be in one of them :o

Stilllivinginazoo · 12/02/2017 15:55

cag my last BRC located two pages zoolets temporary stick on tattoos that have been missing 18months and a book I thought I'd mistakenly put in charity bag along tonnes bloody bits paper I've no idea why I kept, lists I never did and stash recipes I'd clip from magazines/papers

PurpleDaisies · 12/02/2017 15:59

Can I show my total ignorance and ask what BRC is? Blush

Guinea pig continues to improve. Nothing particularly useful done here apart from more church and more hand feeding. I'm going to have a nap after the late night then tackle the washing up mountain.

Cagliostro · 12/02/2017 16:03

Ah sorry Purple it means Bag/Box of Random Crap. I coined the term a little tongue-in-cheek a few threads back but it's actually stuck. :) Basically it's the kind of bag/box where you've shoved any old rubbish in during a panic tidy (I believe the Flylady term for that is 'stash and dash') - you know when you have people round and you think AAAAAAARGH must hide all the mess! And then the bags build up and up...

PurpleDaisies · 12/02/2017 16:05

Oh, that makes so much sense! I have a lot of boxes of random crap that require sorting. Thanks!

Afreshstartplease · 12/02/2017 16:15

Ta Da

Washer on
Dryer on
Steriliser on
Two worktops clear and clean
Hob clean
Microwave cleaned
All pots washed
Bins empty
Pets cleaned out
Living room hoovered
Washing put away
Atleast 3 loads washed and dried so far
Big bathroom toilet sink and bath scrubbed
Two beds stripped

Its still a right tip. I think because I'm going from room to room doing things here and there

Cagliostro · 12/02/2017 16:17

:o

I'm pleased we managed to sort through loads of them a couple of months back so it's definitely better than it was, but it does creep in again quickly.

I just opened my regular shoulder bag to get the chocolate I'd stashed in it and it's turned into quite the BRC in itself! Awful!

Cagliostro · 12/02/2017 16:24

Depressing isn't it Afresh when you do loads and it doesn't seem to make much difference. :( Have to keep reminding ourselves that it really does.
