Hello all and welcome to the February Flylady thread! Welcome to all current posters and also to any returners plus of course anyone who would like to join. The more the merrier.

We are a friendly group who (sort of) follow the Flylady system in hopes of a more organised home and life. Some of us manage that better than others Smile.

It's my first time running this thread so here we go with links... Please if anything is wrong feel free to correct me. Hopefully it will all go swimmingly this month but I apologise in advance for anything not slick! I'm starting a day early as have work tomorrow and I am slow at this but will try to stay on the old thread until tomorrow. Thanks so much for doing the December and January threads Cotsowold.

We are in zone 5 for the first few days of the month.

Flylady advises decluttering for 15 mins a day. I tend to manage 5 but I know lots of people have great results with 15.

I can't figure out how to post the individual missions (I will get better, I hope!) so as a treat here is the sneak peak for the rest of the week which has all the missions www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions

Feb 1st's mission is to clean our vents!!

If you have already decluttered then you could start some detailed cleaning www.flylady.net/d/zones/detailed-cleaning-zone-5/

For a summary of what's going on, go to www.flylady.net/c/lp.php or just follow this thread Smile. Sometimes the Flylady website takes a little while to catch up on a new month.

Newbies, welcome, have a look around the Flylady website - it can sometimes be a bit disorganised. Unless you want to, beware of signing up for her emails - there are hundreds and all the info is on the website anyway. Here is the getting started link [[http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

I'll post the baby step and Wednesday's daily focus next.

DD seems poorly again, serves me right for proclaiming her well! She went a very grey-green colour tonight and was asleep before 7.30, almost unheard of except when ill. I am not confident about her making school tomorrow but we'll see what a good sleep does for her.

Well done to Greymalkin with the job offer too, we'll celebrate your success in the naughty corner!

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/02/2017 06:13

Cotswold nifty moving,I like itGrin
Hope dd is OK,so much illness around still-ds still not eating/full cold, lil zoo still taking antibiotics,dd2 throat still red(but not painful)
Talk dd2 dad worked last night.he's just rocked up and carted her off to walk in over her hobbling ankle.to say waking a 12yo at 540 was difficult understated.glad lil zoo already up(they share room)as the growling/cover snatching etc would've been sure to wake her....
Landed funny sat at pocket park with friend off equipment and hurt.pain on weight bear since sun, hobbling badly.no obvs bruising,no swelling.better when elevated.school gave lift pass she's that slow and pained on stairs.let's see how they get on(finger crossed its not go be bad mum alert later making her keep going on a fracture or somethingSad)
Tadas
Fed cats
Clear and clean dining table(not of dishes just random things-school books(dd2)banana skinConfused(D's)drinks bottles/cups,letters etc.soon mounts upHmm
I may attack the oven later.dep how enthusiastic I feel or if ed welfare rings and leaves me with lots angry energy
Happy flying!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/02/2017 06:14

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/02/2017 08:48

It feels weird not rushing round get zoolets ready n do school run when I see kids wandering up/down our rd to school!!
Dd2 I am pleased to report has severe sprain.ibuprofen and rest (where poss) no need beat myself with the bad mums guilt stick
Fed her and lil zoo,D's is just attempt small carton banana milk.expected ed welfare ring me today(in school Thursdays)they want me sign document say Zoolets I'll I take them n THEY decide fit to be there.I GI Google that, surely they can't make Me?SadI've never let them stay home unless they are just lay sofa, not eat, hot.there's no devices etc.its not fun/exciting be home (and I've told EWO this)wish she go chase feral parents that CBA send kids n let me be!!

PurpleDaisies · 09/02/2017 08:50

Gp is at the vet and I'm home. I've got cup of tea number two. Once I've stuck that it's a twenty minute rescue in the kitchen. The plan is to remove the junk, clean everything and put away anything that isn't supposed to be there. I might stare painting later if I can decide whether I like the colour!

Cagliostro · 09/02/2017 09:34

Damn zoo that's annoying do they not realise that trekking to school could make them more ill anyway? I think sometimes schools forget not everyone can bundle their kids into the car. When mine were in school there'd have been no way I could drag them all that way. :(

Must get up, pupil is on way here! Have a great day all!

foxessocks · 09/02/2017 09:38

Just popping by to say zzzzzzzzzzzz BrewBrewBrew

Afreshstartplease · 09/02/2017 09:39

Oh dear zoo that's a pain isn't it, if it were me I would probably take her one day when she was really clearly very unwell to make a point

I've been lucky so far my lot are pretty resilient to germs

CotswoldStrife · 09/02/2017 10:23

Morning campers, I feel like a slacker compared to some of your early starts!

zoo I've responded on your other thread - I think the school have a cheek as it's down to their reporting of her medical appointments not all day absence. The prats.

DD much brighter today, she thinks it was just tired-itis! She is massively busy at the moment but bless her, still did 5 mins of homework last night before crawling into bed. Her dedication puts me to shame (slurps coffee and munches choc chip brioche ....)

My thought for the day is to stop spending so much in the shops. I went with a list of precisely two items this morning (potatoes/cooked meat) and came out having paid the princely sum of £11.51 on those two items and the brioche (Blush), two bottles of bleach, a magazine for DD, rubber gloves, blah, blah - why don't I stick to the list FFS! I need blinkers or something Grin

That bleach won't spread itself, see you at lunchtime ...

foxessocks · 09/02/2017 10:43

zoo sorry in my sleep deprived state I missed your problems with the school , how frustratingSad
Cotswold that's why I avoid shops as much as possible! I can never resist extra stuff and even more so if DD is with me and she wants a comic etc. It's difficult and shops don't make it easy with all their special offers which probably aren't even that special!

Ta das
Daily routine all done (whilst dancing around to music in an attempt to make me feel more awake. Ds thought this hilarious and has been giggling away in his bouncy chair Grin)

To do
After my cup of tea and kit kat...
Take clothes to charity shop
Clean bin mission
Declutter in kitchen
Mop floors
Start organising photo album

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/02/2017 11:07

Can you believe I've just had family support worker and ed welfare turn up unannounced?!Angry
They see both akip in sofa, lil zoo antibiotics and inhalers and D's dietetics weight loss chart(he's losing again plus off food so weak)and clear off pretty sharpish.I am beyond livid at the cheek but utterly vindicated.grrrrrrrrrrrr

CotswoldStrife · 09/02/2017 12:13

zoo Shock that's awful! What did they say?

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/02/2017 12:33

Nothing Cotswold just look bit sheepish n bugger offHmm

I am still seething.it's half term next week ffs,I dont keep them home for fun of it/cos they need a break!

Triggered what was nasty case CBA into depression edged lethargy.I may nap and start again later or tomorrow

PurpleDaisies · 09/02/2017 12:35

Do you want me to get the pointy stick out for you zoo or would you rather a Brew?

What a morning. That sounds absolutely rotten. Flowers

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 09/02/2017 12:48

Hello all, just caught up on thread. zoo, how awful, glad they saw you were right and vanished!

foxes, yes, small children and shopping don't mix. Cotswold, I had £20 in my purse on Sat and at the need of the day had spent it, no idea on what Confused. Purple, hope your GP gets on ok at the vets.

Hello to Cag and Afresh and WhoKn0ws, Grey and everyone else.

Cotswold money in my hands at shops like sand on hourglass-kust slips awayGrin
I am taking up residence in naughty corner with snuggly blanket for a cheeky nap in hope perks me up (if that's hot choc in that mug purple I take that over the stick thanks)

PurpleDaisies · 09/02/2017 13:47

There can definitely be hot chocolate zoo. I'm putting one in for me too. Smile

Back from the vets-gp is looking great and currently chasing around his lady friends full of the joys of spring. Apart from his dodgy shaped jaw he's a very happy little soul. A short sit down planned and then the kitchen is calling.

foxessocks · 09/02/2017 14:20

Ta das
Kitchen bin cleaned and the inner bit currently soaking in the garden so it smells fresh
One kitchen cupboard decluttered
Some clothes taken to charity shop

To do
Mop floors
Start organising photo album

PurpleDaisies · 09/02/2017 16:39

In a bid to avoid cleaning the kitchen I've finally put up some pictures in the corridor outside our guest room. It's only taken four months. In a complete coincidence they match the guest room exactly as well as the light shade. I guess I really like teal blue.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 09/02/2017 19:13

Hello all. I'll take a hot chocolate please! Purple, fab news about GP and pictures.

Ta da:-
DD2 has had shower
DD1 has done spellings
I've applied for a new temporary job eek - worried as it is internal and couldn't get hold of my manager to discuss it today - she will find out and I am concerned will be annoyed. Feel a bit sick thinking about it Confused.

To do:-
DD1 shower
Bedtime
Evening routine
Before bed routine
Go out to shop as annoyingly forgot to get bread earlier. Often nip to shop in a rush before child pick up and and despite a list usually forget something Angry. Any tips anyone?
Tidy up a bit as had complete lack of motivation when we got home, as did DH so stuff is sprawled everywhere.

OP posts:
TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 09/02/2017 21:53

Aaaagh am in naughty corner, didn't find any motivation and am now having a rest in the hope of waking up ready to get on. zoo, I might need you to use your motivational stick!!!
