Ho, ho, ho - welcome to the December Flylady thread. We'll be following the Flylady method and enforcing order on our houses. Feel free to join in. The monthly focus for December is pampering Xmas Grin

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first.

You can probably already tell my personal level of dedication to the internet, not the house as I've looked up the Christmas smileys specially. No washing up was done in the making of this post.

I'll post the first December links tonight!

celeste84 · 30/12/2016 13:50

I hate this lull between xmas and nye/when everyone goes back to work. You feel like you should be doing something nice but its too miserable/cold/wet outside and money all spent over xmas.

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/12/2016 14:12

cag I must admit I felt bit like that after found out pref with no4.at this point dd1 just left be at dads most time. Dd2 was nearly 3,D's was 15mnths and had just been diagnose genetic prob that was causing developmental delay.he at that point could just about sit unsupported, wasn't gain weight properly and was under physio, speech, child dev clinic.I felt my life revolve round sodding apps and wondered what the dickens I'd done but you cope.you have to!!he took first steps with push along walker(as we call it baby zimmer)just after I had lil zoo and manage first steps couple day before 2nd bday.proud day that was?!!looking back o wonder how hell I managed as dp just changed jobs and wasn't entitle time off so I had c sect and came home 2days later n just got on with it!!

Newchick · 30/12/2016 16:57

Well you have made me laugh Zoo so thank you :)

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/12/2016 20:41

Zoo Grin. Hi all! Celeste, I love this time of year! As a child I hated it as there was the crashing come down after Xmas. As as adult though I love it, although I see what you mean about the money Sad. It's the fact that everything seems that bit more relaxed.

I am also planning to watch 19 kids at some point - I love those programmes! I have been a proper shouty mum with my two today and the thought of 19...?????!!!!! Hoping for better things tomorrow as today has been pretty miserable with both DDs on a proper post - Xmas comedown.

On the plus side I have downloaded the home routines app and am very excited Grin. It gives you stars for doing things on your routines and works with Flylady. Must get up off the sofa now and will post lists in a bit.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/12/2016 22:00

Ta da:-
Studying - have done as much research and planning as I'll have time to now so need to get writing properly from tomorrow which will mean writing late at night Sad.
Thank you cards - by narrowing it down to only one person really needing a thank you card and the others getting texts so have two texts to send tomorrow and the girls need to sign one card.
Organised some of the home routines app lists - hopefully this will be something else to get me on track and not another way to procrastinate Grin.
Bit of decluttering
Took some rags to charity shop

To do:-

Dreamingoutloud7 · 30/12/2016 22:24

Cleared out our bookcase as well today, 6 carrier bags later...
Decorations are coming down tomorrow as they are starting to annoy me and I'm hoping to sort out the airing cupboard as I can't open it without towels flying at me!
Really getting into this decluttering, although I have lapsed on the basic jobs today, dishwasher hasn't been loaded after dinner so that will roll over til tomorrow, kitchen isn't clean and the coffee table is covered in sweet wrappers, but I've come to bed to forget about it all and start again tomorrow!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 30/12/2016 22:25

toostressy I had that app ages ago and loved it, have re downloaded it, thanks for the reminder!

CotswoldStrife · 30/12/2016 23:26

I'll do the new thread tomorrow Blush, honest. Scoop up anyone who wants to join us in 2017.

Have been out this afternoon, bought a lovely sewing machine for me to use and some other shopping. We will be in for New Year (what is everyone else doing?) so will just do a buffet/snacks/treats thing for us to pick at.

Will post the links, see you tomorrow (trying to stay away from that app that has been mentioned ...)

The daily summary for Saturday, New Year’s Eve (also available on the Flylady website at flight plan which should update automatically each day.

**

Baby-step no 31 - think about signing up for the individual emails (as there can be quite a lot of them, we would advise caution!)

No zone work or missions at the weekends – woo hoo, enjoy!

The daily focus for Saturday is: family fun day

The monthly habit for December is pampering!

The Christmas Clean-Up missions are here day 6 today.

The first links of 2017 will be posted here

Thank you Cotswold! I am going to try and keep up with the thread better next month, I've really lapsed lately.

Tomorrow we're going to a friend's for food, board games etc. It's lovely as our kids all get on well and us grown ups all love games so should be a nice chilled evening. Although DH only finishes work at 10 so he's got to make a dash there. We're staying over which is a bit scary for me! Blush

I need to get organised and decide what games to take!

I've written a huge list of all the stuff that needs doing in January. Ugh.

PurpleDaisies · 31/12/2016 05:52

Thanks for the new thread. Smile

Yesterday was a whole day of test driving things and I'm still not decided. The shortlist has been narrowed to two which is definitely progress. Going to try and get it sorted in the next few days or so.

I've almost caught up with Mount Washmore. There's a lot of random stuff around the house so the plan is to at least get everything into the right rooms today and then put it away next week. We're making the most of dh being off and putting shelves up today which will help with storage.

cagliostro I'm also doing board games and food with friends for NYE. Can't wait! Hope you have fun.

Afreshstartplease · 31/12/2016 09:27

We moved in October and I was determined this new place would be uncluttered and lovely. We'll get there! Grin

PurpleDaisies · 31/12/2016 10:07

zoo you're absolutely right about regenerating washing. I reckon something's breeding in my laundry basket. Suddenly there are more sheets. Goodness knows where they come from (and where the odd socks go).
