Ho, ho, ho - welcome to the December Flylady thread. We'll be following the Flylady method and enforcing order on our houses. Feel free to join in. The monthly focus for December is pampering Xmas Grin

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first.

You can probably already tell my personal level of dedication to the internet, not the house as I've looked up the Christmas smileys specially. No washing up was done in the making of this post.

I'll post the first December links tonight!

I need to get back in the full swing tomorrow. The last two days have been a bit haywire but I've been making the beds, tidying up as I go along so nothing has gotten too bad.

To do (in the morning)
Wash up
Make beds
Put a load of laundry on
Get dressed
Buy present for BF (we exchange on New Years Eve)
Sort out playroom

PurpleDaisies · 26/12/2016 23:01

Today's been a day of visiting people so not a lot done here today. I was so proud of myself for putting a load of washing on before leaving this morning but when we got back it turned out I'd forgotten to press start. Doh! There's a lot of bedlinen to get through from all the guests and no tumble dryer so I'm really hoping for a dry, windy few days. The plan is to do a good hour tomorrow of putting away and tidying then see what's left. Much as I like Christmas I love getting back to normal afterwards.

grey I moved after eight months of limbo-its very sweet when you get your keys. Good luck with everything that needs doing. If you can afford packers they are well worth the money.

CotswoldStrife · 26/12/2016 23:37

I went to get the ham out of the fridge to cook today only to find I'd bought smoked instead of unsmoked (no way would my DH like it) so had to dash out and get more. Also, I was relying on freeing up that space in the fridge so Operation Stack in there is at a critical stage. Must eat more ...

I have managed some laundry today. We went to the cinema just the three of us when DH went to work. Moana is an awesome film!

Living room is a mess of books, puzzles, toys and science stuff! But it's been such a great Christmas. Tomorrow DH is home in the morning so we will be clearing up, finding places for toys (the marble run particularly - very glad I cleared a few tubs a few weeks ago!) and then building a human skeleton/organs model Xmas Grin

I just put the third wash on and the dryer on too, so will get fourth lot washed and dried tomorrow and then get it all put away hopefully. I then have a load of bedding to wash as the Caglets got new duvet covers.

Now chilling with a DVD and I've decided to go through all my Amazon wishlists (yes that's plural... very plural) - it was getting ridiculous the amount I put on there, without really thinking. I'm really trying to cut back on bringing stuff into the house.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/12/2016 09:02

Hello everyone! Cag, thanks for the reminder about Moana - think we'll wait for the DVD but we do love Disney films (as long as they are princess, ish Xmas Blush).

We are off out for breakfast now for the last day of Xmas really as back to work tomorrow.

Ta da:-
Dishwasher on
That is all!

To do:-
Tidy up Xmas presents
Everything else!

CotswoldStrife · 27/12/2016 09:59

We are planning to hit the shops in a bit, good job the focus is on the living room this week as ours needs serious work!

Good to hear that Moana is worth seeing, can add that to our plans. Will be seeing a panto later in the week too (oh yes we will ...)

Have a good day fledglings, catch you later.

In other news dd2 is STILL unwell bad throat. She's been cry frustration since Xmas eve as she loves good and is struggling to eat/drink anything.her diet consists oatbix, yogurt, jelly and soup and she bored and frustrated in equal amounts at sight(and knowledge)Xmas treats are available could she swallow them.we've deferred build ginger house as she's hysterical if we make it she can't eat it. Anyone got any other ideas what to feed her crushed glass is sadly not a food group.she's a difficult patient

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/12/2016 11:45

Work surfaces wiped and bleached

Muppetslikecoco · 27/12/2016 11:57

Ta da
Made beds
Washed up
Cleaned kitchen
Swept hallway
1 laundry load complete, 1 in dryer and 1 in washer.

To do
Get dressed
Pick up groceries
Finish laundry

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/12/2016 12:02

zoo, can DD2 swallow at all? It sounds as if she can if she is managing oatibix etc. In which case I wouldn't worry too much about food at the moment (although it is frustrating I know over Xmas) if she won't / can't eat - just try to get her to drink when she can. Maybe put a drink in a novelty cup etc might inspire her. Milkshakes, (very lukewarm) hot chocolate, etc. Make sure she's dosed up on calpol. You can give ibuprofen (children's) too and depending on her age you can get children's throat pastilles.

If you have them, ice pops, ice lollies, just plain old ice or ice chips, yogurt, ice cream or frozen yogurt.

If she cannot swallow fluids or saliva at all that is different and she needs to see a doctor / nurse / pharmacist but from you post it sounds as if she can swallow?

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/12/2016 12:13

Spit going down,so yeh its just painful and she's a drama llama with no pain threshold I just getting worn down with her endless moaning and need for attention.she's 13in April but def more demanding than ever was as little one when ill....

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/12/2016 12:14

13 in April

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/12/2016 12:14

Also it depends if she would eat it but crystallised ginger is good for sore throats and is a bit like a sweet :)

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/12/2016 12:16

Oh in that case if she is 13, avoid ibuprofen on an empty stomach but if she's eating that's ok. Can she make a Christmas milk shake or hot chocolate? I'm not sure of the age so you must check but Vicks chloraseptic throat spray is amazing - no hot drinks afterwards and make sure it's ok for a 12 year old - she may be too young.

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/12/2016 12:50

She's had hot chocolate today
What's getting to her is she loves her food and is currently only eating a quarter/third usual amounts coupled with not be able eat lots naice Xmas treats!!a coughs now try join party that sounds bit chesty (sighs).and I have got sore throatHmm

Afreshstartplease · 27/12/2016 12:53

Hello all!

I really need get back in swing of things.place looks like hamleys exploded in front room and kitchen is awful messsad

^ this

I keep tidying the toys back to under the tree but then they creep back out again! And the amount of cardboard I have for recycling is unreal

All DC are happy with presents anyway, and so far we have had no arguments (me and dp that is) I have however had disagreements with all three of the big DC over various things but mainly the mess

Today I've loaded the washer and dryer and tidied the toys away twice not that you would think it

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/12/2016 14:27

afresh this is joys having "a larger" familyXmas GrinI've accept defeat on the dreaded Xbox and D's n lil zoo ate using his fortress book Santa gave him to build castle structures and buy me some peace/break rearranging their stash back into designated corners of front room
Little ones had jacket potato, cold meat and raw carrot and sugarsnaps.dd2 slowly try work thru mash with hummus but making very heavy weather of it.bless her!I suspect there may be a stray rocket lolly in the freezer that may be finding its way to her after as the others are tucking into cake and she's welling up at sight if it and knowledge that just won't go down(bread the day before yest was like watch a duck try swallow half slice gulp.gulp.gulp.with tears)

CotswoldStrife · 27/12/2016 16:04

One of my friends is ill with an awful sore throat at the moment, she couldn't go out on Christmas Day to her planned lunch venue and I ended up passing a plate of turkey over instead! Zoo would your daughter eat anything like scrambled eggs, mince or lentils? Tiny soup pasta or tinned pasta shapes, baked beans? I had a spell of not chewing and found spinach with soft cheese was quite easy to eat. Rice is also easy to spoon down but may be a bit rough for her throat.

Been shopping. Didn't buy what we'd planned (some shops still shut) but got a few bargains so a nice day anyway. But do need to tidy now Hmm

Afreshstartplease · 27/12/2016 16:29

Zoo - sorry to hear you have had a less than calm Christmas, hopefully things will settle down and get sorted soon.

Cotswold - lol at 'sneaking in' my move. We should have moved months ago but our fecking buyer has been a total $h!t and delayed everything for months. Can't wait for it to finally happen, excited and nervous at the same time.

Yes Purple - we will be having a full packing service as there is no way I can do it this time around. Too much large heavy furniture, a lot of it antique and a crazy toddler underfoot = far too much stress. I shall be directing operations, that is all!

< waves to Stressy, FreshStart, Muppets, NewChick > and everyone else.
