Ho, ho, ho - welcome to the December Flylady thread. We'll be following the Flylady method and enforcing order on our houses. Feel free to join in. The monthly focus for December is pampering Xmas Grin

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first.

You can probably already tell my personal level of dedication to the internet, not the house as I've looked up the Christmas smileys specially. No washing up was done in the making of this post.

I'll post the first December links tonight!

Here's some Brew for all who need it! Grey, glad there is progress with moving.

Ta da:-
DH has made turkey risotto and sorted out the rest of the turkey!
Tea eaten
Dishwasher being loaded
Bit of studying - now have plan and research for next bit of portfolio done. Amazingly managed to do half an hour while kids awake this afternoon! Was aiming for an hour but it's better than nothing.
Tiny bit of toy tidying

To do:-
Laundry
Bath and bedtime
Before bed routine - need to do proper one as early start for all which will be a shock to the system Xmas Sad - back to work tomorrow
Put books back that DD2 has got out.
Tidy away study stuff

Collapse and try to have a rest before starting back tomorrow.

If time...
Bit of slow toy tidying
Start DC thank you cards to relatives who need one!

PurpleDaisies · 27/12/2016 18:54

Gladly accepting Brew here! And I've got a spare bottle of mulled Wine to share...

We have had a very lazy day interspersed with a bit of activity.

So far...
2 loads of washing
Dishwasher unloaded and reloaded
Guinea pigs cleaned out and nails clipped
Flatpack cupboards finished (only the top to put on)

Plus ten episodes of friends watched...

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/12/2016 18:56

Oooh amazingly I had no mulled wine this Xmas so will take that thank you Xmas Smile.

PurpleDaisies · 27/12/2016 18:56

Mine was left over from last year! No one apart from me likes it. Grin

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/12/2016 19:17

I went bake rolls and realised out date 2months(bad stock rotationBlush)luckily had mini wraps so lil zoo and D's eating cheese salad wraps, crisps, grapes and ginger Xmas biscuits as I typeXmas Winkno idea what dd2will end up with!!(yogurt probably!!)
I now have huge glands and voice croaking...usually as they share they get better, so hoping dd2 has "peaked" today!!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/12/2016 22:05

Have given up. Did a bit of tidying but not sorted out stuff for tomorrow. Is last day of Xmas really so am in naughty corner. Can offer Baileys and leftover Xmas pudding.

CotswoldStrife · 27/12/2016 22:51

I can offer leftover everything, including last years mulled wine (which is actually non-alcoholic so I think that may be a clue to the leftover status).

DH and I had a picky tea of fridge stuff, DD wanted fish fingers! Kitchen not too bad, living room is not good at all. Really need to get it sorted tomorrow.

I find the Vicks First Defence is really good at keeping colds and sore throats at bay if you use it early enough. Just don't do a massive inhale like an asthma inhaler when you use it!

Will start on the wine now, I mean post the links next Wine, passes bottle to those who need it.

May I join? Im currently half way through a deep clean of my house and I am thinking of using FlyLady to keep on top of it once its clean. I really struggle to keep on top of the housework. Hoping it will help with the de cluttering I desperately need to do as well.

CotswoldStrife · 27/12/2016 23:31

Thanks for the links cotswold.

Today we're braving a shopping centre. I am not thrilled at the prospect but I've got two full Caffè Nero cards so at least there'll be free coffee. The plan is to test drive some more cars with the view to actually buying one next week.

To do...
Wash up things that won't go into dish washer
More washing
Move shoes into new cabinet
Some sort of exercise?
Shopping trip
Drive some cars

Plus try to deal with the general untidyness for 20mins

Afreshstartplease · 28/12/2016 09:19

Today I am going to tackle the kitchen. It is over run with stuff including 60million cardboard boxes.

Something's need throwing out
Some need rehoming others just putting away
Whole room needs cleaning

Just need baby ds to nodd off first!

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/12/2016 09:47

May I ask when everyone with kids is plan start homing new presents as oppose try keep them seeping from designated area?
I am losing the battle for front room floor.and the will to live

Cagliostro · 28/12/2016 09:51

We are attempting it gradually. We've found a box for the marble run although leaving it in the living room for now. Doll stuff and transformers can be added to the existing boxes. The most difficult thing will be books

InfiniteSheldon · 28/12/2016 09:55

New presents homed, all wrapping paper boxes etc in recycling, light fixtures/picture frames in living room cleaned, fifteen minutes of yoga done failed on actually getting dressed though. Didn't get dressed til 3 o clock yesterday and currently wallowing in the bath. Baby steps Grin

Afreshstartplease · 28/12/2016 09:56

All new clothes etc have been rehomed. All chocolate etc in the kitchen tip.

I may encourage books being put away today I think

CotswoldStrife · 28/12/2016 10:09

I need to dump stuff to make room for the new first! This will be tricky with DD. She has got a few more bits of Doh Vinci this year but the number of little tubes of it we have now is ridiculous and won't fit in the previous box. Need to readjust the storage on that one.

Chocolate is slowly being eaten. I still have wrapping to do for the relatives we haven't seen yet (I hate wrapping, will get that out of the way today) and a cleaning binge on the current zone - Living Room - is more than overdue.

I should restart the yoga too, my lower back is really stiff and even just a few days of stretching sorts it out nicely. However, I have just eaten two only-slightly-out-of-date pain au chocolate so no progress on that front either!

We spent most of Christmas Day in our pyjamas, it was lovely! We may have managed the whole day if I hadn't had to nip out just before dinner so I had to get dressed!

Muppetslikecoco · 28/12/2016 10:21

Most things have been rehomed, it's the massive fisher price car raceway things that I'm struggling with.

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/12/2016 10:37

Seems babysteps here are overdue then!!I put DVDs on shelf yest.will do books today and pop lil zoo keyboard into new home (behind sofa)when not in use.that will be a start!!

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone had a lovely xmas! So many posts on here since I last logged on so I won't even attempt to respond to the various bits and bobs Blush We had a lovely xmas, spent most of it on the road travelling to here there and everywhere. This is the first day at home so just getting our feet on the ground. Xmas tree is still up but it will come down maybe tonight but more likely tomo. The immediate problem is rubbish. Our collection was due today but rescheduled till this Friday. Got so many boxes and wrapping paper aswell as the usual rubbish waiting to be collected. Boxes all stamped down the recycling boxes are still overflowing. Is anyone else's recycling refusing to take xmas wrapping paper like they are here?

Cagliostro · 28/12/2016 15:16

3 of us were in jammies the whole of xmas day here too Xmas Grin the only reason DD wasn't is that she was so excited about the clothes she'd got. Over the last few days she has mostly been wearing a sparkly gym leotard and shorts, with a Shakespeare quote hoodie ('though she be but little she is fierce!'), nothing on her legs, and flowery Doc style boots. Xmas Grin

I have loads of laundry to do. Also realised the big cupboard under the stairs is getting bad again - it's been ignored for a few weeks as DH isn't running his sports club until next month, but DD wanted her bike out today and I saw how awful it's become! I might make that the target for tomorrow morning before DH goes to work. It's especially important now there's so much sports equipment in there - I really want that to be organised so it's easy to access everything.

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/12/2016 15:27

Wow!a caglet fashion icon (personally I'd say that's Linda look that would blend in zoo house tbh. At mo.lil zoo wandering in polar bear onesie and giraffe horn headband. D's in skeleton onesie and dino dressing gown(complete fetching triceratops slippers) and dd2 sobbing on sofa in owl onesie, dressing gown,2blankies and a hot water bottle!!
Books onto bookcase(albeit some stack on top as ran out room)
2load wash on(1st in dryer)
Keyboards away behind sofa
Each Zoolets now got a cardboard box with remaining items in it and death threat should it start trickling round floor again!!
Dd1 visit was fleeting but good.we acquired an aneasthetic spray from pharmacy for dd2.only be concern if can't swallow or hi fever(good to know)
Zoolets had mash and corned beef, cept dd2-last humus in her mash and dd1 treat her some baby fruit pots from waitrose(next door pharmacy)so she's had s apple and pear pot for pud saves me cooking and pureeing for her
She's now lay sofa watch TV with intermittent cough sounds like a 60a day smoker!!lil zoo starting cough and complain bout throat (sigh)she's pretty tough tho and won't make fuss less she's really really bad!!
