Ho, ho, ho - welcome to the December Flylady thread. We'll be following the Flylady method and enforcing order on our houses. Feel free to join in. The monthly focus for December is pampering Xmas Grin

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first.

You can probably already tell my personal level of dedication to the internet, not the house as I've looked up the Christmas smileys specially. No washing up was done in the making of this post.

I'll post the first December links tonight!

Cupboard under the stairs is done! DH managed to fit all his sports equipment in more neatly and the bikes/scooters/car seats are more accessible. Ideally we would have shelving in there but since we are hoping to move in 2017 we are just going to make do for now.

I did have to drag out all the old toys etc that we are selling. I was too disorganised to sell before xmas which probably would have been more successful.

Cagliostro · 29/12/2016 14:18

Oh the blog is just a boring home ed diary btw Blush it's one of my New Years resolutions to work on it more though.

Dreamingoutloud7 · 29/12/2016 14:41

Sorry I haven't checked in lately, think I did 2 posts this month and that was it!
Have somehow managed to just about keep on top of house though and didn't have to do the mad Xmas eve clean that we normally have to.
I'm now on annual leave for 5 weeks before my mat leave kicks in Smile
Just gone out and bought a dyson cordless as our old vax is just too heavy and cumbersome.
Yesterday I cleaned out the bathroom cupboards and drawers and got rid of 3 carrier bags of empty bottles (how does that even happen?!)
I am determined to keep this house looking nice while I'm off and I've realised the key is having less junk around so I'm purging like never before!!

Afreshstartplease · 29/12/2016 15:00

I told myself I'd get the house sorted while on maternity but sigh, it hasn't happened

bassetmum · 29/12/2016 15:21

Well Ive nearly full my big clean just the living/dining room to do. And clean out the guinea pigs. Although currently being rather lazy as my puppy who is having her first season wants a cuddle. Today we've managed to clean and tidy the hallway landing and stairs and the kitchen so getting there. Going to start de cluttering in the new year

bassetmum · 29/12/2016 15:21

Nearly finished. Stupid predictive text

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/12/2016 18:48

bassetmum, I'm another one who makes beds instead of shining my sink. I used to try but I just found it so demoralising as it is never really empty and shiny and so I felt as if I was constantly failing at that one simple thing. I'm much better just attempting to keep the sink area vaguely clean and tidy and the dishwasher under control. Although of course Flylady is all about the shiny sink!

I also find this thread much easier to follow than the hundreds of Flylady emails Smile.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/12/2016 19:44

Hi everyone. Am in awe of a tidy sports cupboard!

Ta da:-
Some more work on portfolio
Sorted out an appointment with my tutor
DD1 nearly asleep
DD2 in bed
DH doing home bleugh

To do:-
Get DD2 to sleep - she is messing around.
5 mins decluttering
Tidy up bags etc from today
Thank you cards

Before bed routine - have let this slide over Xmas and had horrible shouty morning today. Really notice the difference when I don't do it or do a rubbish one. My New Year's resolution was going to be to be more organised (as it has been forever!) but actually keeping up with my before bed routine will have the same effect and is more concrete.

Cagliostro · 29/12/2016 19:51

It's a beautiful thing. Hockey sticks, archery bows and (safety) arrows, basketballs, rugby balls, discus/shots etc 😍😍😍

Need to hang the washing (it's the non-tumble-dry stuff)

Afreshstartplease · 29/12/2016 20:43

Feel like I've made some progress with the kitchen. No where near done but a start! Will do a little more once DC4 is asleep!

fromwesttoeast · 29/12/2016 23:36

Just quickly checking in here. Been plugging slowly away at 15 minutes decluttering- mostly in the dining room as it's the room we spend most living time in, but have done a bit in living room too.

Cagliostro · 30/12/2016 00:33

Laundry hung up. Tired, bored and can't sleep, so working on more blog posts (I try and do a weekly diary post but got really behind!)

Family visiting tomorrow so need to tidy up a bit because of the toddler coming with them!

too stress your bedtime routines took a wobble this hol, espwith dd2 be so poorly, and must get on that or we go feel it terribly when back to school.seems such a small thing but without it wheels fall of the wagon in zoo house when zoolets are tired and disorganised of a morning!!

foxessocks · 30/12/2016 09:24

Hello everyone! Once again I am behind on the thread so I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! I have been doing the basics here and we have decluttered some toy boxes, wardrobes and sock drawers so lots to take to the charity shop. Christmas presents have mostly been put away but still quite a lot of stuff out, I don't expect to get it all sorted until the new year though, I'm still very much on holiday mode. Dh has been getting up with the kids every morning so I'm still lounging in bed!

I'm off to read the thread now and catch up on the news.

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/12/2016 10:05

Morning,

Zoo Hope you're ok. When is the funeral?

I'm the same Foxes i'm just getting the very basics done at the mo. The kitchen and bathrooms need a good scrubbing and the place needs hoovering but I am putting them off until next week when dh goes back to work or else he just gets under my feet Angry We took all the xmas decorations and the tree down last night Xmas Sad

ta da

put a load of clothes in the washing machine

Need to take ds's toys i have set aside to the charity shop.

CotswoldStrife · 30/12/2016 10:20

Morning all, our bedtimes are also completely out of whack zoo which won't be helped by a couple of nights in a hotel either!

Need to do a bit of laundry today as we'll only be getting back the day before DD goes back to school, so need to have all the uniform/PE kit ready to go! I don't think DD has much after-school stuff on for the first week which will really help. Have loved the holidays though, with us all being off together. Back to being on my own next week.

Weather quite misty and foggy here today, was planning to hit another sale but I'll see in half an hour or so.

I'll start the January thread either later tonight or tomorrow morning. I can post the links but if everyone could welcome any newbies until Tuesday afternoon/evening that would be fab. This thread will still be running for a few days yet though!

See you later!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 30/12/2016 11:12

Morning all
Dh has said he's going to the tip later, so I've started cleaning my clothes out, have so far done tops and bottoms and got rid of a bin bag full, just need to do underwear and wardrobe, really want to leave them for another day but currently a lot of our coats are flung over the bannister as there's not enough space in the wardrobe, so clearing that should've been the priority.
Also stripped the bed and waiting for that to dry.

Then just need to go to the shops and pick up some basics that we've run out of.

Afreshstartplease · 30/12/2016 11:18

Morning all

Did anyone watch 19 kids and counting last night? I must admit I am a hit in awe at how they seem to cope so well! These holidays have been hard work here and that's with four DC not nineteen! Surely it's all a front and really they have a full team of helpers?

Anyway

Ta Da So Far

Washer on
Dryer on
Dryer empty and folded
Bottles washed
Breakfast pots washed

Me and four DC up, fed and dressed

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/12/2016 11:35

I watched it.think older ones help a lot.have you noticed none them that interested lids of their own?!must admit I think Radford's are a amazing family. Sue and Neil to have a lot of love fir their brood and he works hard to support them but how much one to one do they get??and what if chicken pox/flu etc takes the kids down.that'd be hell on earth!!and how brave were they taking a young baby amongst so many to Australia?!
I've finally defrosted and have lil ones baying for lunch!!

Afreshstartplease · 30/12/2016 11:57

Completely agree about the Australia trip! It just got me how chirpy and upbeat she was when days before birth of DC19! Why wasn't she wallowing in her sofa eating chocolate feeling sorry for herself!

Muppetslikecoco · 30/12/2016 11:57

I seem to forever have stuff rolling over from my to do list. I can't get a lot done today as I'm watching my DB (4) unfortunately he doesn't seem to have any danger perception when it comes to DS (2) and tries to play rough so I can't take my eyes off them for a second.

Ta da
Shined sink
Made beds
Put 1 load of bedding in WM
Wiped kitchen sides
Hot spot table
Put half washing away

To do
Finish the bedding load and put it back on the bed.
Make lunch for DC
Maybe vacuum upstairs (hopeful)
Tidy living room
Watch 19 kids and counting whilst DS naps (also hopeful)

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/12/2016 13:29

muppets rollovers are the norm here
