My house/Zoflora

1000 replies

TheLionQueen · 20/10/2016 11:28

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

Oho my god... All that for 6 quid?!

That is awesome.

NeepNeepNeep · 21/10/2016 09:29

I know Mozfan, I know. I think that included VAT too. Makro is too far away to make a special trip for more...or is it

neep I can't believe how good that is. You need to go again and make us all jealous...

PinkiePiesCupcakes · 21/10/2016 09:36

I thi k everything has been covered, and this is not a tagging post at ALL but, how I use the wonder stuff Zoflora is:
Cap in 400ml of water in spray bottle.
Light spray a feather duster and dust everywhere down.
Spray the viktrrs of my vacuum before I hoover.
Lightly spray curtains and nets, the thoiugh being air coming through the window will be fragrances as it passes.
Lightly spray my front door window, as the sun warms the glass it fragrances.
Use it like febreeze on sofas, carpets, etc.
Turn duvet covers inside out and lightly spray before putting duvet in, lovely fragrant bed linen even out of a musty cupboard.
Spray it onto old potpourri and give it a shake.
Spray on radiators before heating comes on.
A quick squirt into the air makes a great air freshner.
A capful in a washing up bowl, wipe down surfaces and then pour some down each sink, freshens and cleans.

I love Zoflora, if I have another daughter I might name her Zoflora not really

QuestionableMouse · 21/10/2016 09:36

It's not a good idea to mix cleaning chemicals so don't mix it with vinegar!

babynugget · 21/10/2016 09:47

Gah! Waiting for a call so can't go Zoflo shopping yet!! Like waiting for Christmas!

One2another · 21/10/2016 09:49

Lots of great ideas. I'll be buying this today! Haven't used zoflora in years as I used it for the mop and bucket but I have a steam mop now.

LaundryQueenHatesIroning · 21/10/2016 09:57

Thanks QuestionableMouse. Although, I usually put a little washing up liquid in with my Zoflora/water mix to give it a cleaning boost, should I not even be doing that?!

Also I didn't know you could get an actual rose one! I though when pp mentioned it they meant the bouquet one. Will have to keep a look out.

Mozfan1 · 21/10/2016 10:02

laundry I'm pretty sure that's OK as fairy liquid is a detergent to make it foam. It's just surfactants so wouldn't react with a disinfectant. It's bleach and other products that shouldn't be mixed as it can give off harmful fumes or burn you

PinkiePiesCupcakes · 21/10/2016 10:02

I picked up the Cinnamon one the other day, started using it, it smells like Christmas in a bottle.

CurbsideProphet · 21/10/2016 10:07

I bought Zoflora after a previous thread, but haven't done anything with it. I'm off work today and am inspired! I don't have an empty spray bottle, so how else can I dilute it? In a washing up bowl?

Mozfan1 · 21/10/2016 10:08

Yeah curb just dilute it in the sink, works a treat. Then when you empty the sink it will frangrancd your drains nicely

Christmas in a bottle that sounds gooooooodddddd

Mozfan1 · 21/10/2016 10:09

Or yeah if you need it to be portable just do it in a plastic bowl!

CurbsideProphet · 21/10/2016 10:16

The fashion for open plan kitchen/living rooms mean I am v conscious of food smells lingering. I'll try the skirting boards/windows trick. I really want to buy a spray bottle now, so I can do the carpets Smile

Mozfan1 · 21/10/2016 10:24

After cooking fill the sink with diluted zoflora for a while and it will get rid of the smells

LaundryQueenHatesIroning · 21/10/2016 10:43

Phew thanks Mozfan

Now I really want to get stuck into a Zoflora cleaning marathon but I have to go out Sad

Felascloak · 21/10/2016 10:45

I went to look today but massively put off by all the warnings about how harmful it is. They need to make eco zoflora

kimlo · 21/10/2016 11:00

I got the christmas one alst year. It was nasty.

I haven't bought this in a while but I now need to go out and get some. Will it be in my local little Tesco?! I'm tempted to go for a stroll with baby to pick some up... I have no chance of being able to do any cleaning with my eight week old but I can dream.

SoupDragon · 21/10/2016 12:20

I stopped off at what used to be a 99p stor and is now Poundland and spent time sniffing.

Springtime is rank - it smells like pine toilet cleaner to me
Lavender still smells rank
Linen is indeed lovely and fresh
Winter spice smells like Christmas.

I didn't sniff bouquet.

Mozfan1 · 21/10/2016 12:22

soup agreed springtime is very strong when it's neat but when diluted it's not nearly as bad... Grin

I really should get a job with zoflora ...
