Oh I lie my dh has an obsession with cleaning the microwave (well getting me to!)

Today's jobs:
Make beds
Put away clean washing
Wash on and dried
Clear out car (dh calls it Monica's cupboard Blush)
Wash and Hoover car - hoping dh suggests doing this for me.
I didn't get to do the conservatory so might try and start that.
Last nights tea was a disaster. It was a new pulled pork recipe and I hated it. Dh liked it though. But it was loads of clearing up after and I felt so disheartened. And my dog must have managed to get some pork (which doesn't agree with him) so to add insult to injury he threw up twice!

Morning,

My dh helps keep the place tidy, does his share of cooking, wipes down the kitchen tops, washes up without needing prodding. He also has bin duty and keeps on top of the garden so he's not too bad. The one time i asked him to do the bathroom he left streaks on the mirror and couldn't even manage to squirt loo cleaner under the rim somehow managing to only squirt it round halfway down the bowl. I Swear he did the bathroom badly on purpose so i just don't even bother to ask him anymore Envy

Today i need to:

  • strip beds and put bedding in washing machine
  • put fresh bedding on
  • another load of washing
  • general tidy up
  • make tea
  • bath ds
  • ironing

I don't normally do much on a Sunday.

Afreshstartplease · 13/03/2016 10:42

I have some strange Burst of energy going on

Three wash loads done
One dry and folded
One in dryer
One on washing line
Pots half done
Bathroom bin done
Kids all in garden

Next -

Finish pots
Wipe down kitchen surfaces
Tidy living room toys

Mine will do weird things like making piles too - even though it's in the wrong place/dirty!

He also hides dirty washing behind the bedroom door Hmm

Anyway, I've left him through dishes to do from last night and i'm going to make him hang the washing out later on as it's sunny here today!

My jobs for today:

Strip bed, wash and remake
Clear flower beds of debris in the garden
Put on more washings
Cook dinner

celeste83 · 14/03/2016 08:08

Try to dry and put away washing before bed.
Sort tin cupboard in kitchen and possibly oven dish cupboard.

Put away clean clothes
Dusted living room
Sorted tin cupboard

Tomorrows list:
Hand washing
Wash and dry dd clothes
Dry washing and put away
Dh to hoover bedrooms and stairs
General tidy
Dust bedroom
I'm working again so not a huge amount! But the house is looking pretty good!

handbags88 · 16/03/2016 18:58

Evening all! Some good lists this week!!

I've only got a week to go at work, so things have been a bit hectic getting it all ready for the person who is taking over from me.

DH has been on housework duties all week - he did bugger all today, so when he gets in from work he needs to:

Wash dishes
Make the bed (properly)
Put a wash on
Put a tumble on
Hoover
Take the dirty washing downstairs
Clean the litter trays

I've also told him he can make the tea since he's not done any of what he was meant to.

He seemed very apologetic on the phone - I'm going to be tough and stick to my guns tonight.

My plan is to behave just like he does until it hits home how lazy he is. So in the spirit of that, I'm off for a bath and then going to sit watching soaps all night Grin

Then I shall appear downstairs as soon as he gets in and ask what's for tea.

Wish me luck!!

Kim82 · 17/03/2016 11:29

How did your plan go Handbags? Well I hope!

Today's list isn't a huge one but it's:

  • clean sister's house done
  • washing 2nd load in washer, first in dryer
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • make beds
  • make a steak pie for tea
  • buy an Easter egg for dd2 to take into school tomorrow
  • dust living room
  • clean and mop downstairs bathroom

That's it for today.

willhazboz · 17/03/2016 15:12

I am also hopeful for handbags plan!
Today's list is tiny as I am working all day and then out for tea with the girls tonight!
Collect order from asda done
Load dishwasher
Do hand washing
Wipe down kitchen

It's lovely and sunny here...looking forward to maternity leave so I can start to get cracking on bigger jobs! My windows are looking shocking! Bloody sun Blush

handbags88 · 17/03/2016 16:39

Ooh, steak pie sounds delicious Kim!

Well, the plan wasn't a grand success but not a total failure either.

He has done the jobs but in a rushed, half-assed way.

I've told him what he needs to fix when he gets home e.g. he's washed most of the dishes but left a few dirty ones in the sink. The clean dishes haven't been dried/put away and no surfaces wiped!

However, he needs to learn so I will persevere Grin

Enjoy tea with the girls Will!

handbags88 · 18/03/2016 16:59

Afternoon everybody!

Okay, so Day 3 of the plan and got home to no housework done again.
I'm beginning to suspect he'll only do it if specifically tell him to, otherwise he thinks he's got away with it.

So tomorrow (because he is playing football after work tonight) he needs to:

  • do the dishes
  • sweep the floors
  • hoover
  • put a washing on
  • put a tumble on
  • sort the recycling
  • wipe the kitchen surfaces
  • bring down any dirty laundry

On top of this I am going to make him do all the 'weekend' jobs too.

  • strip bed
  • wash bedding
  • make bed
  • clean out fridge
  • choose/make dinner
  • go to the shops for food
  • unpack food into fridge
  • clean the bathroom

I am going to sit and watch 'Life on Mars' while he does all the housework around me and then perhaps make my lunch in the kitchen directly after he has cleaned it Wink

The house is slowly going to shit around me but nothing that a morning's housework won't sort.

Kim82 · 18/03/2016 20:41

I hope your dh ups his game soon handbags. I'd love to do this experiment just to see what happens but know we'd be living in a shithole within days and I don't think I could cope! I don't mind cleaning though so am happy to do the majority of it whilst I'm not working. Tomorrow's list is:

  • strip beds
  • remake beds
  • washing
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • empty bins
  • dust living room
  • sweep and mop throughout downstairs
  • clean and mop both bathrooms
  • dust bedrooms
  • bathe toddler
  • Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs
Afreshstartplease · 19/03/2016 07:42

Well it's Saturday again

My house is a shit hole again

Sad

One load in washer
Pots soaking in sink

Next-

Sort dry washing
Wash pots
Take out rubbish

Kim82 · 19/03/2016 11:25

Right, I have sat on my arse and done sweet fa all morning apart from re-wash the towels in the washer from yesterday. The girls are playing with the play doh and keeping the toddler amused so I need to move myself. I'll make a start on upstairs. I have around 30 mins before the toddler needs a nap so I'll see how much I can get done in that time...

Kim82 · 19/03/2016 11:34

Scrap that, I went into the kitchen to get the Hoover for upstairs and she kicked off so she's now in bed. Looks like I'll be doing downstairs first then..
