OP posts:
celeste83 · 08/03/2016 14:24

todays list:
make beds done*
wash breakfast dishes done*
clean kitchen (cleaned grill, cleaned hob, bleached sink, cleaned fridge, cleaned bin, mopped floor, cleaned surfaces) done*

  • general tidy up
  • make tea
  • ironing

Got the kitchen done at least. Still feel lazy today in fact i just feel in a really cheesed off mood today and i have no idea why lol

willhazboz · 08/03/2016 22:22

So I made tea
Cleared up
Loaded dishwasher and emptied after it finished
And I sorted the baking cupboard! Very pleased with it. Threw away 4 baking powders that went out of date ages ago (oldest one was bbe March 2012!!) and obviously loads of other stuff. Managed to clear enough space that I got my daughters plates etc a space :) so they are no longer on the worktop. Though now my kitchen is looking bare. I love it!

Hope everyone has had a productive day!

willhazboz · 09/03/2016 22:35

Evening everyone! Very quiet this week.

Today I have:
Booked mot
Sorted out Internet banking access
Made tea
Cleared kitchen
Loaded and unloaded dishwasher
Done handwashing
Wash and dried dd clothes
Sorted out 2 more kitchen cupboards: one with Tupperware in and one with random stuff in (ie chocolate bars, medicine, slow cooker.)
Got a big bin bag of crap to go from the last 2 nights sorting now. Smile
Not bad for a working day i don't think!

Tomorrow I need to:
Brush and mop kitchen and hall
Put away dd clothes
Clean bathroom
Maybe sort out another cupboard but probably not as I won't have much time!

handbags88 · 10/03/2016 07:47

Morning everyone!

I'm still here, just not been posting my lists.... but I have been keeping on top of things!

Last night I:

Made dinner
Washed up
Swept floors
Took out the bin
Wiped the surfaces in the kitchen
Tidied the living room
Made the bed
Gave the bathroom a quick wipe round
Took dirty washing downstairs
Put a washing and tumble on

We've got friends coming for lunch on Saturday, so tonight I'm going to:

Clean oven
Dust
Polish furniture
Hoover whole house
Hoover all lampshades

Also need to go to the shops to buy 'light lunch' things - I'm going with quiche, salad etc

Only 2 weeks until I start my maternity leave, thank goodness Grin

celeste83 · 10/03/2016 08:37

Yep i'm here too. Didn't do much yesterday apart from the very basics. I was still in a grumpy mood lol. Feel better today though. Its a lovely blue sky sunny day here the complete opposite of yesterday and the high winds and lots of rain we had! Need to pop into town this morning and pick up something from the post office. My main chores when i get back will be the bathrooms.

Kim82 · 10/03/2016 14:40

I'm here too. So far today I have:

  • tidied beds
  • washed dishes
  • emptied and bleached the kitchen bins
  • swept the kitchen
  • got on my hands and knees with a scrubbing brush and bleached the kitchen floor
  • washing (one load in dryer and one just finished in the washer)

Still to do:

  • more washing (I'll swap it all over in a minute)
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • sweep and mop living room
  • dust living room
  • clean and mop downstairs bathroom
  • bathe toddler

No cooking for me tonight as it's my birthday so we'll be ordering a takeaway and drinking the wine that dh brought home for me - yay!

handbags88 · 10/03/2016 16:55

Happy birthday Kim! Have a lovely evening and enjoy your takeaway Cake

willhazboz · 10/03/2016 18:29

I have 2 weeks til mat leave aswell handbags! When are you due?

Happy birthday Kim! Enjoy your takeaway and wine.

And glad you are feeling happier celeste. Weather makes a huge difference. Smile

I haven't done anything yet...just got home from work. I spent a long time on the internet today looking at new pans...definitely winding down.

Kim82 · 10/03/2016 19:48

Baby in bed, I'm on my second glass of wine, no more housework is being done today! Tomorrow's list will therefore be:

  • tidy beds
  • washing
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • clean out fridge
  • write shopping list
  • go to Aldi
  • go to Sainsburys
  • put away shopping
  • tidy shoe rack and hall

  • go through toddler's clothes and bag up too small stuff for charity shop
  • tidy bedrooms
  • clean and mop upstairs bathroom
  • sweep kitchen
  • clean patio windows
  • empty cat litter tray

A big list but I've been a lazy bugger and just done the basics for a while so I am determined to get it all done.

willhazboz · 10/03/2016 22:08

Wow your list makes me feel tired reading it!

I have done everything on mine other than putting the washing away. I'll put ours away before I go to bed but I ran out of time to do dd clothes and she's asleep in the room so obvs can't.
Also dishwasher wasn't full enough so it'll go on tomorrow afternoon.

Tomorrows list:
Change bedding
Wash bedding
Dry and put away
Dust and Hoover living room
Make tea
Clear up

Hi,

Yesterday i managed to bleach and mop the bathroom and downstairs loo. Today i have dusted, polished and hoovered all rooms ready for the weekend.

You've been very busy Kim. The cats will come home when they're hungry.

Kim82 · 11/03/2016 19:08

It's lovely having the house nice and clean ready for the weekend isn't it? Mine isn't despite everything I got done today. My list for tomorrow is:

  • strip beds
  • remake beds
  • washing
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • dust bedrooms
  • Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs
  • wash dishes
  • wipe over kitchen
  • clean internal windows and mirrors
  • sort through toddler's clothes
  • buy Ds new school shoes as his have holes in yet again!
  • catch cats and put flea treatment on if I don't manage it tonight
  • take chicken out of freezer so it's defrosted for Sunday
  • take girls to the library
  • nip to sister's house to give her a birthday card

I was going to stop for the day but I need to re-hang the shower curtain after sticking it through the washer and have one more load of washing to fold and put away. I also spy a cat...

Kim82 · 11/03/2016 19:26

Washing folded and put away, shower curtain re-hung and all three cats treated. And relax!

celeste83 · 11/03/2016 19:41

Yeah i like to make sure the house is tidy and clean for the weekend then do another clean on the monday after the weekend.

Thought the cats would return about this time of the evening Grin

willhazboz · 11/03/2016 20:38

Glad you got the cats! You have been very busy! Can't believe you have managed that with a grumpy toddler. You are superwoman!

Today I have:
Changed bed and washed bedding.
Dried
I will put it away before bed :)
Dusted and hoovered living room
Made tea and cleared up.

Tomorrow is mainly a fun day!
Need to change towels and wash dry out away etc
Take phone to Vodafone to be sent off for repair as it never gets signal!
Make tea (Bung in slow cooker) but I am going to make coleslaw etc.
Make breakfast
If I have some time in the afternoon I might start doing a deep clean on the conservatory. It's just a mud room/utility basically and needs de cobwebbing!

Kim82 · 12/03/2016 10:28

So far:

  • strip beds done
  • remake beds four done, one to go
  • washing 2nd load in washer, 1st in dryer

Kim82 · 12/03/2016 12:48

So far:

  • strip beds done

  • washing washer just finished, will switch over now
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • dust bedrooms
  • Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs

I need to wash the lunch dishes, switch the washing around and then I'll dust my bedroom. Dd3 is napping so I can't Hoover or dust their room yet and Ds is in his room with his friend so I can't do his room either so I'll sit with a brew for an hour or so until dd3 wakes instead.

handbags88 · 12/03/2016 16:51

Hi everyone,

I'm due on the 29th April Will, not long to go! When is your due date?

This morning I:

Hoovered upstairs and downstairs
Swept floor
Cleaned fridge
Cleaned oven
Took out the bin
Put a washing on
Put a tumble on
Made the bed
Tidied up generally
Cleaned the bathroom
Went shopping for food etc
Took clean clothes upstairs

Had visitors for lunch!

Now relaxing.

DH isn't being very helpful at the moment - he goes through waves of 'helping' but at other times doesn't notice when stuff needs doing.

I know I'm probably moody because I'm pregnant but I've been asking him to hoover the stairs for over a fortnight and this morning I gave in and did it myself. I also had to re-clean the bathroom because he hadn't done it properly!

We had an argument and he seems to think I clean too much - he thought the stairs were 'fine'.

Thing is, I ask him to do things nicely several times and then I get really pissed off and shout at him.

How can I encourage him to recognise what needs doing and help? Hmm

willhazboz · 12/03/2016 20:04

I'm due 5th may so not long after you! My mums birthday is 29th April Smile

I have no idea re your dh...mine is exactly the same. He tells me off for hoovering the stairs but then doesn't do it himself! He said as much as he likes that the house is looking nicer he thinks I'm going overboard.

So today I have changed the towels an they are in the machine
Been to Vodafone shop
Tea is nearly ready
Dh cooked breakfast though :) I cleared up and wiped over oven.
I've done all the hand washing and loaded and unloaded dishwasher

Been a pretty lazy day as we stayed up waaay to late last night arguing discussing whether to move or extend in the future. Dh thinks move I think extend.

handbags88 · 12/03/2016 20:59

That's exciting Will!

I think my DH literally has no clue about housework because his Mum and Dad are quite untidy so he doesn't see 'mess'.

But then again, I've explained the routines/where things go to him time and time again Confused

Maybe I will have to start binning the crap he leaves lying about Grin

Sigh!

willhazboz · 12/03/2016 21:51

See my dh is very tidy (his parents are also messy and this is his 'rebellion'!) but he just doesn't get cleaning. And the more I do the more sloppy he gets.

Kim82 · 13/03/2016 07:39

Dh is quite tidy but only cleans places people don't see! He doesn't care about mess on the floor or washing up, etc but is constantly making sure it's tidy inside the fridge and kitchen cupboards! Also, rather than wash the dirty dishes he will stack it all up neatly then just leave it. As long as it looks organised then he won't see the need to do it. He's a complete weirdo! He is currently lying in bed stinking of stale beer at the moment though as I kicked him out with his friends last night as I wanted some time to myself Grin.

Anyway, today's jobs:

  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • washing
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • bathe toddler
  • tidy beds
  • put diesel in the car
  • put chicken in slow cooker

That's it for today as I'm taking the kids to my auntie's for the afternoon so won't have time to do much else.
