Hiya Kim, he's been amazing! It's all done and looking so clean!

Just putting the furniture back in now and getting a chippy for tea I think Smile

cikecaka · 16/02/2016 10:52

I need a major kick up the backside

Need to declutter sitting room.
DD3 is 9 on Saturday and having a few friends over.

Kim82 · 16/02/2016 11:11

I've not managed to get much done again as the toddler isn't well, she has a throat and ear infection, bless her, so we had her at the GP yesterday and they gave antibiotics. She won't let me put her down so I've only been able to do the basics. I need to get a few bits done today though so I'm hoping she will go to dh when he's home from work while I get stuff done. Failing that dh will have to do the housework.

Things that need to be done this afternoon are:

  • tidy beds
  • washing
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • sweep floors downstairs
  • clean out fridge
  • write shopping list
  • go to Aldi
  • general tidy up in all rooms
handbags88 · 16/02/2016 12:01

That's a shame Kim, hope she's on the mend soon Smile ear infections are awful.

I've got to move the rest of the books etc back downstairs this afternoon.

Then:

Make the tea
Sweep the floors
Make the bed
Hoover upstairs
Clean the bathroom

Not very much but I'm starting to get tired much faster now - we'll see how I get on!

handbags88 · 16/02/2016 15:09

Okay - getting there very slowly!

Most stuff for living room/kitchen is back downstairs and in the right place.

I made the bed while I was up there. Also put a load of washing on.

I'm having a rest just now - will make the tea and wash up next.

I think DH will sweep, hoover and clean the bathroom when he gets in if I ask him.

I am pooped!

Kim82 · 17/02/2016 09:31

Still not managed to get much done as dd3 just wouldn't let me put her down. She seems slightly more perky this morning though and we are in dire need of a food shop so I'll have to drag her out with me today. My jobs list is:

  • tidy beds
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • sweep floors downstairs
  • write shopping list
  • clean out fridge
  • go to Aldi
  • washing
  • fold and put away clean washing

Dd1 is eating breakfast with dd3 right now so I'm going to take the opportunity to jump in the shower and get myself dressed.

Kim82 · 17/02/2016 10:21

I'm showered and dressed and have started on the list:

  • tidy beds done
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen done
  • sweep floors downstairs kitchen swept, need to do living room and hall
  • write shopping list done
  • clean out fridge done
  • go to Aldi
  • washing washer on
  • fold and put away clean washing

Another couple of things to add to this morning's list:

  • go to post office
  • bathe toddler
handbags88 · 17/02/2016 15:44

I've Hoovered
Put a washing on
Put a tumble load on
Folded and put away clothes/towels
Made bed
Tidied round the house

Sat down to read my book for 5 minutes at 2 o'clock and have just woken up now.

Oops Blush

House is looking okay.

It's DH'S birthday today so we are going out for dinner.

I'll do a quick wipe round of the kitchen and then go and get ready for going out tonight.

Sonnet · 17/02/2016 16:00

Could I join in please?

I work 4 days per week so only have 1 day plus weekends for cleaning BUT I do have daily tasks to do and need to really focus on that as I spend all weekend catching up!

Tonight I need to:
Make supper
Wash up (dishwasher broken)
Clean down Kitchen sides
sort laundry pile in to what to put away and what needs ironing
take clothes out of dryer and sort as above
wash 2 x loads
as well as help DD2 with her homework

Tomorrow I am not at work and need to make a start on the ironing mountain

Smile
Kim82 · 17/02/2016 16:08

My day didn't go as planned again. Toddler woke up from her nap and just wouldn't stop screaming. She had had a reaction to her antibiotics so we had her back at the gp where they gave her some different ones, she was in agony and screamed all afternoon! She seems to be over the worst now though so we just have to wait for it to leave her system.

I've still not been shopping, I'll hopefully get that done later. I've done two loads of washing and will put some more in now. I'll have to try and cobble together something for tea but god knows what we'll have - my kitchen is like Old Mother Hubbard's!

handbags88 · 17/02/2016 17:30

Hi Sonnet! I have the same problem as you - I need to keep on top of the small jobs during the week whilst I'm at work, otherwise the weekends are a nightmare of catching up!

I'm on a week's holiday just now though, so all is good at the moment.... Grin

Kim82 · 18/02/2016 08:52

Morning all. The house is looking quite tidy atm, I passed the toddler over to dh yesterday evening and got quite a few jobs done. I've only got a few things that need doing today.

  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • tidy beds
  • cold wash
  • fold and put away clothes that were put in the dryer last night
  • walk up to the post office
  • clean and mop upstairs and downstairs bathrooms
  • mop floors downstairs
  • empty bins
  • dust living room

I also still need to go to Aldi but the car is going in for it's MOT today so I've no idea what time I'll manage that.

If I get chance I'm going to Hoover the bedrooms, stairs and landing too.

Kim82 · 18/02/2016 10:18

Right, I've made a start:

  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • tidy beds
  • cold wash
  • fold and put away clothes that were put in the dryer last night
  • walk up to the post office done
  • clean and mop upstairs and downstairs bathrooms
  • mop floors downstairs
  • empty bins done
  • dust living room
  • go to Aldi done
  • Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs

Just going to grab some breakfast then I'll carry on.

Kim82 · 18/02/2016 11:04

Off to tidy the beds...

celeste83 · 18/02/2016 11:05

I dunno about everyone else but i never seem to manage to get much done during half term week trying to enterain ds.

Kim82 · 18/02/2016 11:43
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen done
  • tidy beds done
  • cold wash done and hung up to dry
  • fold and put away clothes that were put in the dryer last night done
  • walk up to the post office done
  • clean and mop upstairs and downstairs bathrooms downstairs done, will do upstairs when toddler naps
  • mop floors downstairs done
  • empty bins done
  • dust living room done
  • go to Aldi done
  • Hoover bedrooms, landing and stairs will do when dh gets home so he can watch toddler

Usually I can't get much done at half term either Celeste but Ds is holed up in his room on his Xbox and the 2 girls stayed at my parent's last night so I've just got my usual toddler to entertain so it's not too bad today. It did help that I left the toddler with Ds (who's 14) for about 45 mins while I nipped to the post office and Aldi this morning so I was much quicker than usual!

I'm all done for now, just have to wait for either dh to get home or toddler to nap - whichever comes first - then I can do another job.

celeste83 · 18/02/2016 12:06

I seriously aspire to be like you Kim with your housework. Between 11.04 and 11.43 you managed to wash the dishes, wipe over kitchen, fold away clothes, and clean & mop the downstairs bathroom. How??

Kim82 · 18/02/2016 12:52

It's only a small house Celeste. The dishes were just from breakfast so weren't loads of them, the downstairs bathroom is just a toilet and little sink so is only about a metre squared so only takes minutes. It's honestly not as impressive as it sounds!

celeste83 · 18/02/2016 13:23

Envy actually I'm surprised you didn't come back reporting you had now done the upstairs bathroom too.

I've got very little done today. We went out for a walk this morning then came back did some painting. Made more mess basically. I have made the beds and done the washing up though Blush

Kim82 · 18/02/2016 13:26

My sister turned up so I've not done any more cleaning yet today. It'll be later this afternoon now before anything else is done.

handbags88 · 18/02/2016 14:41

Afternoon everybody!

I've washed the dishes
Swept the floors
Made the bed
Cleaned out the bins with disinfectant
Been to the shops

Now back, have had lunch and having a rest on the sofa. Going to try and not fall asleep like yesterday Grin

Kim, you've been like a housework superwoman today!

Kim82 · 18/02/2016 19:52

Evening all. I was going to give up for the day but decided to do the hoovering so that's another job ticked off, I'll leave the upstairs bathroom til tomorrow though, I can't be bothered doing that now.

Tomorrow morning's list:

  • tidy beds
  • wash breakfast dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • washing
  • fold and put away clothes that have been left to dry overnight (stuff that can't go in the dryer)
  • bathe toddler
  • take kids for a walk if the weather allows

I'll do another list for the afternoon when I've finished the morning one.

celeste83 · 18/02/2016 21:11

Ok today i have

  • made beds
  • washed dishes
  • did a round of washing
  • tidied up (about 10 times!)
