Used to do one of these each week but I have become a lazy lazy slob it would seem!

Anyone care to join me with lists and motivation?

I'm slacking

Got distracted by catching up on the Christmas bargin thread

Before we know it November will be upon us and Xmas will b around the corner Shock

Cats are such mischevious. They definitely know you're handing out the treatment hence the dissappearing act lol.

afreshstartplease · 03/10/2015 12:23

OK

Pots washed
Bin empty
Pets clean

Lunch in oven

Woohoo, the third (and biggest, stroppiest) cat is done - had to get dh to hold him while I put it on, he's definitely not a one woman job!

All beds stripped and remade.

Just the uniforms to iron, bedding to wash and lasagne to make (from memory anyway, can't see my original list at the moment). I'm not bothering with the library today, I'll go through the week at some point.

penguinsarecool · 03/10/2015 12:59

I currently chasing around a huge fly that has entered the house

afreshstartplease · 03/10/2015 13:08

I have fought three flies today with a can of raid

OP posts:
penguinsarecool · 03/10/2015 13:23

I prefer the frantic chasing around with a tea towel method personally

Kim82 · 03/10/2015 13:28

I prefer to set the cats on flies and spiders. Proves very effective.

afreshstartplease · 03/10/2015 13:28

I don't want fly splat on my tea towels!

OP posts:
penguinsarecool · 03/10/2015 13:52

I know cats are great flies and spider catchers. I need to get a new cat.

They don't get splat with said tea towel. Knock em out of the air then dispose of them at your choice. Tea towel goes in the wash after.

Missymoomoo197936 · 03/10/2015 14:48

Shift 1 finished, just over an hour until the next one.

Most of the washing put away.
Washing is in tumble dryer.
Dishwasher on.

Still need to hoover but having snuggles with dd2 1st.

Kim82 · 03/10/2015 14:56

Snuggles are way more important Missymoo.

I have the last lot of bedcovers in the washer, some are in the dryer and the first lot are folded and put away. I'm just about to iron the uniforms then make that bloody lasagne I've been putting off all day!

Kim82 · 03/10/2015 16:00

Ironing done, lasagne in the oven. I literally sat down to have 10 minutes and the baby woke up. Argh!

kansasmum · 03/10/2015 16:33

It's been a crazy busy week here trying to sort everything out for my mums discharge home after 4 months in hospital and residential home. My mum is not a very nice person and is obstinate and self centred. She's been really rude to everyone who has tried to help so it's been very stressful and time consuming so my house is basically a shit tip as I've done nothing this week apart from a bit of laundry!
So far I have:

Chucked a load of laundry on

Unloaded and reloaded d/washer

Cleaned kitchen work surfaces.

Cleared dining table.

Hoovered and mopped kitchen and hall floors downstairs.

Did massive food shop for my mum and put it all away at her house.

Made Lamb tagine which is in slow cooker.

Still to do

Sweep/Hoover living room floor and mop that.

Clean downstairs loo.

Clean utility room.

Hoover upstairs and tidy our room.

Put Everest size pile of clothes away.

Kim82 · 03/10/2015 22:05

Sorry to hear about your mum kansasmum, I hope things start to get better once she's home.

Good luck with your huge list of jobs too, I don't envy you!

LadyMaryofDownt0n · 03/10/2015 23:19

Oh a cleaning thread.... How did I miss this!? Finally I can say I love cleaning without being looked at like am mad Grin

I have two big clean days per week when the whole house gets blasted. Everything from hoovering to dusting the skirting boards.

Most of my day is doing laundry which seems never ending.

Kim82 · 04/10/2015 07:32

Hi LadyMary are you going to put is all to shame with massive lists of housework that you get done each day? I wouldn't say I love cleaning, especially not all aspects of it but I do love the feeling of hot, soapy water on my hands. Is that weird?

Anyway, I don't have many jobs to do today as I'm going to my auntie's for the day but before I go I need to:

Tidy beds.
Wash breakfast dishes and clean kitchen.
Sweep kitchen and living room.
Put towels in the washing machine and either hang them out or put in dryer.
Fold and put away clothes left in the dryer overnight.
Make a packed lunch for baby as she often can't eat the food my aunt makes due to allergies.

afreshstartplease · 04/10/2015 07:58

I dislike cleaning

For me I don't think it ever last long enough to get anything from it

I blame the kids

Morning, no Kim, I just tend to do everything in two days then not as much the others. The soap thing I understand, but I hate doing the dishes (no dishwasher)

Today's is my day "off" so I've done nothing but one load of laundry. Everyone apart from me & DS are still sleeping. Going for a walk now then make breakfast if anyone's awake when I get back.

I'll iron/put away the uniforms later
Do a roast dinner
Tidy up
Possibly hoover the living room
Rest Smile

Kim82 · 04/10/2015 10:52

I managed all the jobs before I left apart from sweeping the floors, I'll do that later tonight once the kids are in bed. Nice, easy day for me today as we're just setting off out now and won't be back til 6.30pm ish. The lasagne for tea is already made and in the fridge so I just need to warm it up when we get back then bath/shower and bed for the kids.

Hi everyone. Been out most the day. We went cycling along the Tarka trail then had a pub lunch. Put ds in one of those little buggies attached to the back of the bike which he loved. Popped into Sainsburys for the weekly shop on the way back.

Housework wise i have:

  • Washed breakfast dishes
  • dettol'd kitchen surfaces
  • stripped the beds and put new bedding on
  • put bedding in washing machine and tumble drier
  • put second load of washing on

I want to:

  • bleach the outside drain in the garden (ds likes to throw the ball in the garden and i keep seeing the ball roll over to the outside drain where all the waste pipes go)
  • tidy ds's room before
  • do some ironing
