Used to do one of these each week but I have become a lazy lazy slob it would seem!

Anyone care to join me with lists and motivation?

Morning. Didn't manage to log on to Mumsnet again last night. I managed to bleach, clean and mop the bathroom so that was my main aim. Also done the daily bits and bobs. Today i need to hoover round the place before the weekend. Gonna make a stew aswell.

GrouchyKiwi · 23/10/2015 08:40

Hi all.

Small list today.

  • wash and hang out two loads of washing - first on now
  • empty dishwasher and clean kitchen
  • tidy house so DH can vacuum later
  • quick bathroom clean
  • make dinner, including loaf of bread
Kim82 · 23/10/2015 19:46

Evening everyone. I didn't get much done again today as I decided that because it was the day before half term it was my last chance to have a sofa day so I just had snuggles with the baby most of the day and got a takeaway for tea (lazy moo!).

Tomorrow's list is therefore pretty long...

  • strip all beds
  • remake beds
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • laundry (lots of it, including bed sheets there should be about 5 or 6 loads)
  • fold and put away clean clothes
  • dust living room
  • sweep and mop floors downstairs
  • clean the stair railings
  • Hoover sofas
  • clean big mirror over fireplace
  • Hoover bedrooms, landing, stairs and living room rug
  • clean upstairs and downstairs bathrooms
  • dust bedrooms
  • clean litter tray
  • do some home insurance comparisons
  • buy bottle of wine for when I'm done and the kids are in bed!!

Haven't got much done over the last couple of days except usual cooking/clearing up after plus some washing and vacuuming. Just in the middle of cleaning the kitchen though and DH is upstairs cleaning the bathroom.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 26/10/2015 13:08

Joining.

I am a procrastinator. As you can see - because instead of doing something clean-esque, here I am on MN...

I have cleaned the kitchen, made dinner and made a tonne of applesauce.

I have sorted out two kitchen cupboards and done the school admin guff for tonight's meeting.

I am going to:

hang up the laundry
shift the crap lying in the hall
attempt to sort the dining room which is currently swamped with my paperwork.

Then I'm going to walk to pick up the kids from school.

Oh yes. I am.

Kim82 · 26/10/2015 14:32

Haha stealtheating. Good luck with the walk!

And well done penguin, I've not completed a full list in ages, I'm determined to do it today though.

  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen done
  • sweep and mop kitchen done
  • tidy, sweep and mop living room tidied, will now do the floor
  • do a load of laundry towels in the washer
  • fold and put away clean clothes
  • tidy beds done
  • take kids library books back done
  • Hoover stairs and rug will do when baby wakes
penguinsarecool · 26/10/2015 15:14

Short lists are my secret Kim hehe i can then add things to said short list as i go along, then ta da a complete list Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 26/10/2015 20:23

Looking for some motivational help. How do you get things done when you're exhausted? The children have made a massive mess in the house over the last few days but I don't have the energy to tidy it. I know I need to just get up and do it but can ever quite make myself, especially when there's washing to fold, dinner to cook, children to play with, etc.

I have my excuses/reasons for tiredness, but I think I really just need a kick up the backside to do things.

penguinsarecool · 26/10/2015 20:43

Why not approach it with one room a day + tidy sink and lounge at end of the evening? Thats what i do basically. Or you could approach it as if you are expecting guests to arrive.

Kim82 · 26/10/2015 22:42

I think penguin's idea is a good place to start grouchykiwi, you'd get loads done in just a week if you tried it that way.

I'm just about to go to bed but wanted to get tomorrow's list done then I can forget about it til the morning:

  • tidy beds
  • wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
  • sweep and mop floors downstairs (didn't do them today but did clean the upstairs bathroom which wasn't on the list)
  • order baby's meds from gp
  • clean out fridge
  • write shopping list
  • go to aldi
  • go to Costco
  • couple of loads of laundry
  • fold and put away clean clothes
  • clean downstairs bathroom
  • sort out home insurance

I think that'll do for now.

Pointlessfan · 27/10/2015 06:41

I'm really not doing well with housework but we were out all day yesterday. I did manage a load of washing though.
Today I'm going to:
Do supermarket shop
Clear out fridge and put away shopping.
Put washing away.
Make soup for lunch and put curry in sc for tea as we're out this afternoon.
Assemble some Ikea furniture then sort and tidy DD'S toys and books.
