A shiny new thread for our soon-to-be shiny homes Grin
Spring cleaning time is upon us (or autumn cleaning time depending where you are in the world)

Thought this thread could last through April as well. Given how nobody but the lovely MrsN clocked how far into March it was already

Not me! Trying to be though! Grin

comeagainforbigfudge · 26/05/2015 20:07

Its me that's preggers. Still.
Not been doing much in the way of unfucking. All the plaster work is finished and drying out nicely. Just need to decorate now. That's OH's this weekend's job Grin

Nice to see you back zing, glad you got your loft sorted

Lemon cake all round Grin

Well, after spending most of yesterday sleeping DS is much better today. thank goodness! I've left him with my mum as he still has spots so can't go to nursery.

Quite chuffed that I manged to get 3 loads of laundry washed, dried and put away yesterday. House is now back to it's normal state of disarray, rather than the enhanced "just-got-back-from-weekend-away-and-have-sick-child" version.

Working until mid-afternoon then hoping to get out in the garden if the weather holds. Other than that:

More laundry - partially unfucked
dinner - toad in the hole - TBU
vacuum - TBU
Order new shoes for DS - TBU
Panic about broken 'phone - Unfucked.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 28/05/2015 08:10

well good luck cupcakes, hope being upduffed is just round the cornerWink

when are you due fudge?

I'm soo stupid, was up again until dumb o'clock , watching Person Of Interest.
My shoulders are aching coz I fell asleep on beanbag.
But I just have to watch it. It's fab.

No unfucking till Sat, crumb catchers are all home.
I'm working on Woolly Hug things so not entirely lazyGrin

hi Adora and everyone else

comeagainforbigfudge · 28/05/2015 10:33

Oh I loved the first series of person of interest. Will need to go back to it.

Not due until 12 June zing. But baby breech and insisting on staying that way at moment so who knows!

I'm mentally unfucking things in the hope that it happens in rl

Might dust off sewing machine and make something later.

Or just eat cake and watch telly Grin

Operation Show Home is underway here, peeps due to view this arvo.

Am halfway through and taking a Brew break.

Upstairs is 95% unfucked, just need to clear some detritus and wipe a surface or two. Then there's downstairs to doHmm

Right, who wants Cake to go with the Brew ? Grin

comeagainforbigfudge · 28/05/2015 14:56

Ha ha ha adora that made me laugh. Minifudge is enjoying kicking my pelvis whilst ramming head into rib cage. Seems content like that just now.

Hope the viewing goes well Grin

AdoraBell · 29/05/2015 03:33

Thanks, they seemed to like it but haven't decided definitely which country they want to move to. They are from X and want to live elsewhere. They haven't said no yet though

I had one memorable business dinner while upduffed, had to eat one handed because of one of mine trying to kick through my ribcage and right out of my chest. I literally sat with my hand on my side stopping the bones from moving too farShock

Kitchen is fucked all over again, DCs have been baking. Need to unfuck the sides so I can do brekkies.

RaspberryBlonde · 29/05/2015 09:13

Morning all. We were just to go out and unfuck various errands but it's just started to pour with rain. Particularly annoying as I'd put the bedsheets in the wash. Really resent having to use my tumble drier when it's almost June!

Also on the list for today:
Dishes and general tidy of kitchen
Enormous pile of ironing
Prevent DD from killing herself climbing on things.

Fingers crossed for you on house sale Adora, we are contemplating a move as want to try for DC2 but need more space, some serious tidying needed before we can though!

Glad your DS is doing ok cupcakes, we have avoided HFM so far but sounds horrid.

Come in babyfudge, get turned around!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 30/05/2015 08:25

fudge

I hope baby turns, but if not and you have a C-section that's fine, really.
DS4 was footling breech and even after a horrible experience of EVC he just wouldn't budge.
It was a bit scary beforehand I admit, but I had my own music and DH was there and really it was fineSmile
good luck whatever happens.

up again till 3am. I just can't stop watching POI, Jim Caviezel is to blame. and the actual plotlines are pretty good too.Grin

I have a mountain of clothes to put away today and must find DD's little hairclips that are in a box in the garage somewhere.
that's probably enough tasks for today, I'm bound to be faffing about in garage for hours.
need a break from crocheting, my hand hurts if I do it every day.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 02/06/2015 07:55

Raspberry it's just not right, is it. We were away (again) this weekend, camping - so I've got loads of washing to do. I'm going to have to tumble it. Grr.

My DH is also addicted to POI. Maybe I should try and watch it. But I really don't have time to get addicted to another TV show!

Only one thing on my to do list today: Sort out Loft. The lights in the bathroom went pfft last week, so DH needs to get into the loft to sort them out, which means the entire contents of the loft need to come out. Deep joy!

comeagain not long to go now! How are you getting on?

comeagainforbigfudge · 02/06/2015 09:02

Morning all.

Well baby is no longer breech but the Dr now concerned with growth. To be scanned again next week.
Thanks for asking cupcakes but on a side note, camping? In that weather? Or did you find some sheltered nook that was glorious? I swear someone is having a laugh at our expense with this weather Sad

On the plus side, our room has been painted. Gloss work to be done and wallpaper to go up then I can organise carpet being fitted. Then we'll have our bedroom back again!!

OP posts:
LetThereBeCupcakes · 02/06/2015 09:08

Comeagain well, caravanning! But yes, in this weather. DH runs our dog at Agility so when the season starts we're there come rain or shine! TBF when I ran a guide unit I did a week in tents with a dozen teenage girls, so this weekend was a doddle in comparison. And totally worth it as DDog got a 1st and 2nd place (His first 1st!).

comeagainforbigfudge · 02/06/2015 11:38

Ah a caravan. Makes a difference I feel. Grin
Hope the loft sorting is going well

OP posts:
LetThereBeCupcakes · 03/06/2015 07:44

Loft is sorted! All boxes of baby clothes put back in the order we'll need them if we have a DC2 (so newborn clothes nearest the front). Also found a box of old children's box that belonged to my mum - some have gone into DS' room, the Early Edition Famous Five books (including one first edition!) now have pride of place on my bookshelf!

Anyway, the bathroom lights are all done, but the bathroom is a real state now (dust everywhere!) so need to give that a good clean today.

Other jobs:

Dinner
Meal Plan
Training Class for DDog 2
Deliver B.Day card to friend
Update Calendar / diaries
Wrap B.Day presents for my Step Dad.

Zing wish I could crochet! Despite many, many attempts I just can't get the hang of it! I blame my mum - who is left handed and keeps trying to teach me (right handed), and we end up in a right muddle!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 03/06/2015 09:12

cupcakes
she can teach you just use a mirror or sit opposite her.

AdoraBell · 03/06/2015 17:14

I seem To have lost my houseConfused it was here a couple of days ago looking all shiny and show homey for the Viewing but someone's replaced it with a an absolute pitShock.

I'll have a look after I eat lunch.

Glad minifudge has changed position Fudge hope all is Well at the scan.

Well done To DDog Grin and Well done on sorting the loft Cupcakes

RaspberryBlonde · 06/06/2015 18:47

Hope that your house turned up Adora Smile

How is everyone's weekend going? Have been managing to keep on top of the kitchen here and even did a bit of gardening (albeit very disrupted between stopping DD from eating things that she shouldn't!

Also been through most of my drawers over the last couple of weeks and got rid of all the things that haven't been worn since I got pregnant! Just wish I had been as organised as you with our baby clothes cupcakes, I have a feeling most of them were shoved into vacuum bags in a sleep deprived haze, if we have DC2 I'll have a big sorting task on my hands!

AdoraBell · 07/06/2015 22:50

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Sit -Rep.

Lounge, found
Kitchen, Well I know it's there under all the detritus Hmm
Bedrooms, mind found but DDs' still missing

Dog kennel is Sparkling thoGrin they live outside here but that's going to change if when we move.

DD2 had her best mate over last night so both DDs are now in Zombie mode after far too little sleep. Had a rather nice lunch out so no dinner needed. We'll have nibbles and early nights all round.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 08/06/2015 08:04

Fudge when is your next scan? Hope all is well.

I was ill all weekend, and now it's Monday and I'm better and back to work. Which seems terribly unfair.

Yesterday consisted mostly of dozing on the sofa, but I did catch up on some episodes of "Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners", which spurred me on to tidy up a bit! Managed to do some "sitting in front of the TV jobs" like sorting paperwork.

Jobs for today:
Hang out laundry
Walk DDogs
Deliver wedding card (our neighbours eloped last week! V. romantic)
Update diaries
Clean bathroom

comeagainforbigfudge · 08/06/2015 08:57

Morning! The wallpaper is up, one final coat of gloss to be done today. Been hindered by OH having diarrhoea & vomiting. Which luckily I seem to have escaped touch wood. Carpet being fitted tomorrow.

Not that I was allowed to help with any of the above. So I just washed dishes n made food - oh its a hard life Grin

cupcakes scan again this morning. I have a feeling that baby hasn't grown much but that means they can swim about quite the thing. Loads of movement, which is obviously good.

Fingers crossed all is okay.

Hope everyone had a productive weekend Flowers

OP posts:
ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 08/06/2015 09:41

good luck with scan fudge

I progressed with Wolly hugs squares. can't remember what else apart from sorting & putting away 12 loads of washing and cutting kids's nails.
man, they get long and dirty so quickly!Confused

LetThereBeCupcakes · 09/06/2015 07:44

Hope all went well at the scan fudge

Zing 12 loads of washing is quite an achievement IMO! I am a miserable failure at nail cutting. DS will only ever let me do his index fingers so I have to wait until he's asleep. Hmm

I did my ironing last night. ALL of it. Shock I have an empty space over the banister now, which looks a bit sad and lonely.

Didn't get 'round to cleaning the bathroom (and it REALLY needs it now), but I did start deep cleaning the kitchen. Even moved the microwave.

I have a problem cupboard - can anybody advise? It's a corner cupboard so awkward to get in to, but the stop cock is right in the back of it so I can't fit any sort of shelving or anything. Help!

comeagainforbigfudge · 09/06/2015 10:02

12 loads of washing? What kind of machine do you have? Super efficient one obviously, mines does well but wouldn't cope with that many in a day!!

cupcakes scan was fine but they've decided as I'm so far on now that it's probably best to induce. I could have waited it out but I'm done in. Spd/heartburn is ramping up again. So decided that would go for it. Was due Friday anyway.

Going in tomorrow. As I requested that because my carpet coming today. Wanted to see my room finished decor wise first ha ha ha

So today I will be repacking case as I can't mind what's in it. (I know I didn't put socks in.) And just having a general tidy up. It's not toooo bad but still.

Now that was a bit mammoth there!

Back to task in hand - the cupboard. How big is it? Can you use it to store tins? Ikea have those wee shelves that can use to add levels of storage.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 09/06/2015 10:29

Ooh how exciting fudge - hope to see squidgy newborn pics soon.

The cupboard is Huuuuge - double width under counter. I'm looking at various shelving options but the stop cock is right at the back in the corner so I can't block that. Will try and take some pics later.

At the moment it contains:
Jam Pan - which then contains little bits like cheese grater, stick blender, weighing scales and so on
Stack of tupperware
Bags for compost bin
Couple of bottles of wine / beer for guests
An asparagus cooker.

So basically random stuff I don't really know what to do with!
