Is anyone doing the January cure?

I first discovered it (thanks to MN!) for Jan 2014 but didn't do it - ended up having to move so wasn't really up for the tasks of 'wash floors, buy flowers' etc as had too much else to do.

However just got the email for Jan 2015 and I'm thinking, maybe I'll give it a go. Anyone else in?

Wow! Can't believe we're nearly done and also the difference a bit of organised effort has made.
It's far from perfect but much much much better Grin
I have a massive list of jobs, but at least I have one.

Just need to keep going, is anyone hanging around for motivation free moments? We could have a wee support group Brew Wine Thanks

I missed the end as I had a big birthday to tackle Smile

But definitely need to start tackling my project list and continue the positive progress that the January cure has brought to my house.

I'm going to attempt it as a July cure too, but in the meantime will start to declutter in earnest and try appying the marie kondo stuff. Time will tell, I need to set realistic deadlines, I've missed two previous unrealistic ones.

I sort of ran out of steam a little at the end, mainly down to being ill so I know this is sort of late but well done everyone and thank you as this thread definitely kept me on track.
I had my get together on Sat eve which was lovely, 3 friends over for wine and a catch up and one of them stayed with her two children so with the help of DH I did have the house looking lovely Smile
The whole process definitely made me look at my house more critically and most of the issues on my initial list have not been tackled as they involve bigger make-overs, purchases or DIY so I am going to try and work my way through that list.
I would be up for sticking around (and would post regularly) and also think the idea of a summer cure is a good one, hopefully we will have done our extension by then so another sort out will be needed!!
Good luck to those of you who are going to continue working on your project lists.

I've just had a weekend email. Might join up to keep the momentum going Grin
Not today though I have a horrid chest infection Sad

RunningKatie · 11/02/2015 17:22

I've not read last weekends email yet, eeek. Will try and do that this evening.

Just been trying to sort kitchen drawers. Stuff is just thrown in them in no order. A thread in Chat got me thinking about it, I need to start with the drawer full of duplicate utensils and then go from there.

Glad you're still here Katie thought I was talking to myself Blush
I've done sweet FA this week as still feel a bit under par but will be back on it as soon as I have some energy Smile

RunningKatie · 13/02/2015 13:15

Hope you're feeling better now cmp.

I've read last weekends task and was a bit uninspired. I do think it's a good idea to have a schedule for checking smoke detectors and such, however if I told D I'd planned house maintenance jobs in for every weekend then he would burn the lists. Wink

I have just had this weekends email which prompted me to check the thread. I still haven't read last weekend's email as I've had a horrible week but it is good to try and keep the momentum going.
Think I will look at last weeks planning projects rather than a digital clean up. Hoping one project per month should be realistic!

nicknamenonsense · 14/02/2015 00:14

Oh just read your pp Katie! I had thought it was planning design / DIY type things not maintenance!!! That's very dull! Think I might just stick to my plan as will make us think about what areas are our priorities.

Will try to read posts before posting in future Blush
