Welcome one and all, especially if you love writing a great list, then sitting back and MNing crossing everything off.

And extra welcomes to those of us who write something we've already done on the list just for the satisfaction of getting to cross it off Grin

And me too belated birthday :)

So, it's my first morning off in years; all 3 at school and I don't work today, hooray!

But I have to try and sort ds2's sch bus issue - big stress, big bureaucracy nonsense.

Am mning with tea first though Smile

MrsNouveauRichards · 09/09/2013 12:08

Thanks :)

Had a lovely breakfast out with my mum friends this morning, normally we have the boys with us, but all three were at preschool - bliss!

Meant I was rushing to get the horses done before pick up, but all done. Got lots of phone calls and stuff to do this afternoon, plus I can't currently see my kitchen sides at all, and the conservatory is full with laundry in various stages. Plenty to do this afternoon.

Just having a sit down and a cold drink then will get cracking.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 09/09/2013 13:17

Hope you both enjoyed your child free mornings. Change of plan for me as I have haircut booked for 2pm that I'd forgotten about so have just popped to tesco for milk and a few other bits and will have to do the printer ink and coursework tomorrow. Oh and ive washed the towels.

JKSLtd · 09/09/2013 19:31

I did sort of enjoy it - i'm bogged down in paperwork & stress & phone calls about DS2's bus, see here

To do this evening (ambitious):
nametapes on DD's PE kit for tomorrow!
finish ironing
wet stuff onto airer
finish DS2's paperwork ready to submit tomorrow
tv & early night

SlatternismyMiddlename · 09/09/2013 20:58

Sorry I missed your birthday Mrs NR, belated felicitations.

I had last week off work in order to get DD settled into pre school. I had plans to achieve the world and all on my week off. I did next to nothing. The only thing I achieved was some batch cooking for the freezer. The house still resembles a bomb site. Sigh.

It's not even worth creating a list but here goes

Everything.

I will return with an update as to how I get on Smile.

JKSLtd · 09/09/2013 21:12

I have been quite productive today, but the house still looks a mess, how is that fair?

Should wait til the dishy finishes so I can empty and reload and wipe the kitchen down, but I am so tired after this weekend! Early night, and try again tomorrow!

MrsNouveauRichards · 09/09/2013 21:21

Oh, and just in case any of you have suggestions:

My friend is having laser eye surgery this week and is going to stay with her mum in London where it is being done, for 2 weeks. I want to send her a little something nice to cheer her up afterwards, as she can't read, watch telly, internet etc, but has to rest. She isn't allowed near her horse for a month and she is used to being really busy. She is planning on downloading some audio books, but I think she will be a bit miserable.

I am struggling for ideas though!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 10/09/2013 16:47

How're you doing slattern?

I've been doing coursework this afternoon so house is mess. Plus got my friend's children here til she gets home from college so dressing up stuff is covering the dcs bedroom. Simple dinner then got some ironing to do or we'll all look rumpled tomorrow.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 10/09/2013 16:48

Hmm tricky one mrsnr...I'm not sure how I would relax without any of those available to me!

MrsNouveauRichards · 11/09/2013 07:25

Tricky isn't it! Think I might get her some bathbombs and some chocolate, and a nice card.

Have you seen the Unfuck Your Habitat blog? I saw there was a thread on here about it, but the thread itself is a little bit aggressive :o the blog itself is very good though, kind of like a non twee flylady.

Had a shit morning yesterday, but things were looking up by the evening, and I left the house looking not too bad when I went to bed.

Need to fit in a food shop sometime today, hmmm

JKSLtd · 11/09/2013 09:20

Very tricky, bath luxuries sound good.

Have seen the Unfuck thread but not had a chance to read much, does kind of appeal lol!

Life is hectic right now, what with bus timing problems, me back at work, getting DD into pre-sch, etc. But have 45mins of relative peace while DD plays on my phone to breathe this morning.

DONE:
all up, breakfasted & dressed

Everyone up, dressed and fed
Pack lunch, drink and book bag
Make beds (done ours, still need to do kids)

Go back to yard for Farrier and finish jobs
Have my dinner, hopefully dh has put kids to bed
Have a lazy evening

SlatternismyMiddlename · 11/09/2013 12:49

My DD started pre school last week and it went really well. This week, not so good culminating in her crying heart sore this morning in the waiting area which set me off. So all the other parents, teacher and TAs got to see mini slattern and myself crying in all our glory - great.

I have spent the rest of the morning on the sofa with mini Slattern watching Disney junior.

And no housework done, again.

MrsNouveauRichards · 11/09/2013 16:12

I think the novelty wears off a little, and they realise they have to go in every time, even when they are tired, or don't feel like it, and that can be hard. Hope you have a better time next drop off.

I feel insulted that neither of my kids care that I leave them at school. I think everyone else I know has had their kids get upset about leaving mummy at some point, my kids just seem desperate to get rid of me, though to be fair I am the parent seen legging it out of the playground!

JKSLtd · 11/09/2013 16:35

Dd is getting worse definitely as he realises. First morning was a breeze, by yesterday there was clinging tears etc.
Both boys had actually been left at nursery before this point so I knew she would be trickier.

Not doing too badly really, town is all done, washing is constant. Just waiting for DH to finish work so we can go to the horses, then Burger King for lunch.

We have a friend's party this afternoon - a bbq! Not sure how that will go! X

FreakoidOrganisoid · 14/09/2013 15:39

Ah my laundry has decreased as dd changes her clothes constsntly when at home and puts them in the wash even if only worn for an hour! The stains on school shirts are taking some eradicating though!

Today I have
Emptied, sorted and tidied understairs cupboard (aka cupboard of doom)
Emptied, sorted and tidied airing cupboard (aka airing cupboard of doom)
Pulled out fridge and cleaned underneath/ behind/ on top of it
A load of washing

Haven't done my coursework though have I? Classic essay avoidance techniques going on I think Grin

Have a massive pile to go to charity shop now. Just need to finish tidying up from where I emptied cupboards then get the washing in before starting on dinner.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 14/09/2013 15:40

Oh yes I slso sprayed the bathroom with cleaner but then did nothinv else so need to remember to clean that off before bathing dc!
