Welcome one and all, especially if you love writing a great list, then sitting back and MNing crossing everything off.

And extra welcomes to those of us who write something we've already done on the list just for the satisfaction of getting to cross it off Grin

Freakoid - get that essay started, (well not until tomorrow because its Saturday night, you will be wanting a glass of wine and X factor is on soon). But get that essay started tomorrow Smile.

That was my attempt at motivation!

I had a conversation with DH a couple of nights ago where I suggested to him that I felt I was in a slump with this whole housework malarkey and I wasn't pulling my weight. After a bit of prodding he agreed I was doing less than before. Not sure how to get out of the slump but I need to do something soon.

Today I did 4 loads of washing and cleaned the kitchen (but not the kitchen table). Now drinking wine.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 14/09/2013 20:36

Grin thank you slattern.

I go through stages like that too, at times I barely keep the house ticking over. I'm avoiding the september slump so far this year but it does normally hit me once the nights start drawing in.

What I find helps is having my daily list and making sure I always do that, then forcing myself to do one or two extra things each day, eg dusting one day, bathroom the next. Theory is the cleanr it is the more i will want to maintain it. Doesn't always work though!

MrsNouveauRichards · 15/09/2013 11:12

Happy sunday all!

Lazy start here, but have managed to get some washing out on the line - finally dry (for now!)

DH is working all day today, so need to keep the kids occupied, get some washing done, do horses etc and try not to go mad! Thankfully we are going out to a local open day thing with a friend this afternoon.

JKSLtd · 15/09/2013 11:49

Had lazy start here but have now managed to:

Do ds1s homework (torture!)
Wm on
Sch bags nearly ready
My orch bag sorted out
Kids snack

To do:
Name tapes
Salads to take to friends
Wm on again
Ds1s sports kit dry & packed
Out to friends for late lunch
Dc dinner, bath & bed
Our dinner, tv & bed

I've finished my coursework!!
Tutor coming tomorrow, hopefully she wont give me too much more.

Banned dc from wii/tv while I was doing it so what are they doing? Running around house with wii steering wheels pretending to play Mario kart. sigh.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 15/09/2013 20:22

Well done on getting the work finished Freakoid.

Yesterday afternoon I really tidied the kitchen. DH decided to bake yesterday evening and we were both too tired last night to deal with it so when I got up today it looked like a bomb had hit it. DH took DCs out this morning and I went for it. The thing is that as bad as it was it only took half an hour to get it back they way it was. Shall I remember this lesson - I doubt it Smile.

Today I also finished the PTA books, took DD to a birthday party and had a great catch up with a friend.

Ironing basket to tackle now.

JKSLtd · 15/09/2013 20:24

Morning all :)

Bit of a traumatic end to the day yesterday, DS fell over and cut the back of his head. Thankfully not lots of blood, but a huge bump and huge screaming tantrum (which I thought was pure tiredness!) All ok though.

Today
Washload on
Empty dishy
Make packed lunch
Kids to school
Horses
Pick DS up
Lunch
More laundry
Back to yard to get stuff ready for lesson tomorrow
Pick DD up from school
Ballet

Clean sheets on our bed
Bath and early night! Seem so drained at the minute

FreakoidOrganisoid · 17/09/2013 14:59

Oh no mrsnr, hope he is ok.

Yesterday I did very little other than a small bit of rl shopping, an online shop, dishes and hovering downstairs. Today I have at least stripped my bed and washed that, and done another load of whites so that the dc have clean shirts for tomorrow Blush I don't have to pick up dc until 430 thanks to after school clubs so have taken the opportunity to have a lazy afternoon. Kitchen sides are a bit cluttered (being short and having to stand on a chair to get anything in the top cupboards as well as overfull cupboards means stuff quite often gets left on top of the microwave after being washed up until I can be bothered to put it away properly) so will probably sort that lot out before getting the dc.

Poor ds was meant to have his first rugby class after school today and was really excited about wearing his new boots but thanks to the heavy rain it will probably be in the hall and he'll have to wear trainers instead. At least his kit won't be caked in mud though!

JKSLtd · 18/09/2013 08:01

Hi all, Mrs - hops DS is recovered, and not too much blood everywhere.

Tues is always a manic day, main achievement yesterday was meeting some people at the Council who sorted DS2's bus times, yey. So he's gone already this morning, means we can get DS1 to school on time again, phew.

Morning. DS recovered absolutenow?ine, thank you.

Freak, I have that trouble too. Thankfully DH is tall and quite useful!

JKS, how come DD needs PE kit now? DD has pretty much only started using hers now she is in year 1! (I'm not bitter about the waste of money on plimsolls in reception, oh no)

Had a really good lesson with my horse yesterday, but it left me useless for the rest of the day!

So not so much a list really, just clear all the shit away! :o

JKSLtd · 19/09/2013 08:59

She wears uniform in the presch - attached to the sch & they wear PE kit. I didn't get the sch logo track suit for £££ though!
They wear it all of PE day (only half a day for her so far) to avoid changes.

OP posts:
MrsNouveauRichards · 19/09/2013 11:03

Yes, I imagine changing 20 odd preschoolers in and out of PE kit would take all day! Does she start in reception next September?

Horses are done, just home and having a coffee, then will have 20mins of tidying up before picking up DS and my friends boy from preschool. My house is rather desperate for a Hoover!

JKSLtd · 19/09/2013 12:30

No not til sep 15!

Work done - pc playing up so mostly cleaned the office instead incl manly fridge.
Dd picked up and having her lunch then I can have mine in peace while she naps.

Supermarket trip before sch run planned later then nothing else other than tea and bed.

OP posts:
JKSLtd · 19/09/2013 18:28

Very lazy afternoon today, but I did injure my hand this morning, so a good excuse!

Busy day tomorrow, so hoping it feels better tomorrow!

MrsNouveauRichards · 22/09/2013 08:26

I'm going to be productive today! I will post a done list later.

JKSLtd · 22/09/2013 09:55

I have productive thoughts ...!

Yesterday was lazy morning then orchestra at a party.

Dh & ds1 are off out sailing but I can't face ds2 & dd on the beach in this weather so we're opting out.

OP posts:
MrsNouveauRichards · 23/09/2013 08:10

Yesterday wasn't as productive as I had planned!

I found out yesterday mid morning that my grandparents are here today, have I tidied or hoovered? No of course not, I prefer the sheer panic of hoovering under pressure. Argh!!!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 23/09/2013 14:24

I was planning on being productive today...1.5 hours of farting about on ebay later...

JKSLtd · 23/09/2013 15:25

Well I've farted about generally today; enjoyed my morning of peace (read book in bed) and ironed during DD's nap.

DONE:
birthday cards written & posted x 3
pile of ironing
DS1 winter uniform ready for him to try on (they change next week)

Left to do today:
sch runs, check bags, reading
pack bags for tomorrow
get DS1 to try uniform
& label 2 new shirts
DC tea & bed
dinner & bed

MrsNouveauRichards · 25/09/2013 08:00

I've come to the conclusion that all this 'baby steps' a little each day, new habits etc does not work with me and our day to day life, as it is generally quite busy, and if we have quiet parts of the day, they soon get filled. So, my new plan is to put aside one aafternoon a week to do all the cleaning - bathroom, kitchen, hoovering etc. We shall see how it goes!

Today's list:
Get dressed (i am already showered and had breakfast)
Make DD's packed lunch
Kids dressed
Pack school bag - PE!
Put Washload on
Out of the house and school run
Go to yard - do horses
Home by 11.20
Coffee
Pick DS up
Lunch
Hang washing out
DH afternoon off
Pop into town
Cleaning!
Pick DD up
Friend over after school for an hour
Dinner
DD spellings and reading
Play on Wii if everything done

JKSLtd · 25/09/2013 19:27

You may be right.
I have set days that I have to do certain things and that helps me. Tues is strip beds/bath towels day and it forces me to do it. But then I have slight OCD too so once I've decide that Tues is that day then I have to do it, IYKWIM?

DONE:
lots today but nothing major on any list!

Thurs:
morning routine
sch runs
work
collect DD, lunch & her nap
try and rearrange social worker visit
solidify school reunion weekend details
orch concert at OAP home
sch runs
DC tea & bed
our dinner & bed

I do a little of both, so have stuff that I do everyday to keep us ticking over(stuff like leaving the kitchen clear each eve), and then do more proper cleaning on Mon and tues afternoons. But I think if I didnt do the daily bits I'd soon get overwhelmed and wouldn't achieve much on those afternoons.
