Hi all, After a pretty rough ride last year (2012) I think I feel ready to start again with babysteps
So who's with me for the journey?

Old and new steppers are welcome!

Lets do this one small step at a time!

OP posts:
bessie26 · 29/01/2013 12:39

arti you are correct, you have sent that to me before Blush - must dig it out again! Have you seen www.teacherspayteachers.com/ ? I must admit I only look at the free stuff, but perhaps you could get some money for your stuff there?

Any ideas why SB was up last night scout? Hope you have a nice restful day.

I've taken my baby stuff to the second hand shop, WM & TD on, lunch eaten, dressing table cleared! Shock and moved some stuff in/out of the loft.

Off to set my timer.

AdoraBell · 29/01/2013 12:54

Scout glad you had a nice evening, and árranged the nextGrin well done. I hope SB is okay and you both get the rest you need.

So, my Ta Da's

Up and dressed
Roused DDs
Breakfast
Dogs fed and watered
Dustbin out for collection
Dropped DDs at volley ball

Still need To do some errands and clean the fridge

Bessie not having your purse is a Pain but at léast you know where it is.

I'm off, calls To make, coffee To drink & a book To readGrin

Scout19075 · 29/01/2013 13:18

Oh yes, I regular teacherspayteachers (the free stuff, too) so that might be a good place, arti.

SB doing okay so far but he looks sooooooo tired. However, CBeebies is my bestie today. Blush SB & I have recently discovered Alphablocks on CBeebies. It must be my accent but I pronounce some of the phonics differently.... Doesn't matter, SB already knows his letters and about half of his sounds and has been loving Alphablocks.

Scout19075 · 29/01/2013 13:29

One of these would make me smile. I am sad.

educatingarti · 29/01/2013 15:03

I like the tetris light too Scout. Why are you sad?
I might try teacherspayteachers

Scout I find that most children can cope with different accents in phonics as long as they don't have any hearing or auditory processing problems - especially UK children coping with N American accents as they hear so much on TV

Do you know starfall ?
Some really good early phonics stuff there.

bessie26 · 29/01/2013 15:39

Just went out on my new bike (birthday present) to deliver a birthday present & to see my grandparents - I think I might ache in the morning!!

WM & TD on again, more baby/maternity clothes sorted ready for washing & selling, more baby stuff listed on for-sale board at work. Must go do my hair now as I won't get chance once the DD's get home. Must resist urge to play Tetris......

HellesBelles396 · 29/01/2013 19:57

Missed a few days I think!
The kitchen got sorted out after a couple of days of beating myself up!

Ta Da's:
Smile up showered dressed & bed made
Smile a day's work
Smile sent ds cooking ingredients to school
Smile emailed cub parents
Smile emailed OU tutor (first of many!)

To do's

  • wash up
  • change drying on airer
  • wm
  • sleep Grin

Scout I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight - SB too!

educatingarti · 29/01/2013 20:15

So - I had a messing about and not getting on with things start to the day, followed by a more intensive second part ( mainly because I took on another additional work commitment for tomorrow and suddenly realised I needed to stop pratting about and get on!
It means tomorrow is likely to be pressured busy but at least I earn a bit more money for it!

bessie26 · 29/01/2013 22:18

well done for tackiling the kitchen HB - what are you doing at the OU?

I've been to yoga tonight & now my legs feel really tired. fx I can move in the morning!

Sink is clean, tomorrow's breakfast & lunch is made. DD's bags are packed. Bed soon.

Did anyone manage any pampering today? Wednesday is my usual 'pamper' night, so I will do it then - a long soak in the bath, face pack & a hair treatment.

HellesBelles396 · 29/01/2013 22:21

update: am in bed. I put the wm on. that is all.

I'm topping my ordinary degree up to honours. New module is my science in society project. already scary!

bessie26 · 29/01/2013 22:47

oooh WM - thanks for the reminder HB - I have stuff in mine that I need DH to put in the TD when he gets up (I have to put the washing basket on the kitchen table to remind him!)

AdoraBell · 30/01/2013 00:36

I'm really tired this evening, been watching movies with DDs thus past week, on top of the lack of sleep last week. They are watching te Twighlight saga, OH can't cope with anything like that so it can't be watched when he's home. And tonight there's a Kid's movie on TV that they missed lat time we collected OH from the airport- and I promised they'd watch it next time.

Anyway, errands done
DW sorted
Food eaten
Kitchen's presentable

Just need to wash my hair and feed dogs before I can collapse into bed.

Helles that subject sounds interesting, as well as just a bit scary. Good luck with it.

Oh, I still need to find a gift for OH's birthday, what he asked for is unattainable here, too bleeding expensive and oh so extravagant, plus he's already got everything

AdoraBell · 30/01/2013 00:39

Haven't managed any pampering because DDs are still up but I shall do my oil on feet and hands before bed.

educatingarti · 30/01/2013 10:19

Morning everyone!
Helles - you are doing loads of stuff like work and OU so try not to beat yourself up!
I hope everyone has a good day. Mine will be busy but I've still got to get myself started!

AdoraBell · 30/01/2013 13:24

Over slept today so my Ta Da's at present are,

Up and dressed
Roused DDs, they ate I didn't
Tea
Dropped DDs at volley ball

Still to do,

Eat
Feed dogs
Speak to vet, puppy seems to have a mouldy snout- I have Canestan at home for that but need de-worming tablets too.
Put away the stack of clean towels
force DDs to put away their clean clothes.
Get DDs to shower and get rid of their own empty shampoo bottles
Look -again- for my passport. Can't remember where I put it and so far it's not where it might have been IYSWIM

Last night I did do my pampering, plus e-mailed a friend and looked on iTunes while my oil soaked feet dried.

Scout19075 · 30/01/2013 20:20

We left the house at 8 a.m. and have been home about 20 minutes. MrScout is reading SB his bedtime stories. I am exhausted and achy but we (SB & I) have had a very good day.

bessie26 · 30/01/2013 20:59

Glad you had a good day scout!

I'm not sure what "science in society" would be, but it sounds interesting to me HB #nerd

Hope your busy day went ok arti

Oil soaked feet sounds lovely adora - I need to do something about my dry & crusty feet - what do you use?

I had an early bath as DH is out tonight & DD2 has been a bit wingey (he was up with her last night) just put on a moisturising face mask, cream on my legs & nail envy on my nails (obvs!) - fx she lets me relax for a few mins, although I should really be adding a few things to the supermarket order for Friday right now

Baby step 30 - try to get slightly organised for next month!

AdoraBell · 30/01/2013 23:42

I'm taking a break, DDs have gone to bed early, I've decluttered a kitchen cupboard, should be my cupboard but it's been turned into a "dump it in there" cupboard.

Dogs still need feeding, as do I. Need to freeze some food too. Might update later, unless I have an early night.

Scout19075 · 31/01/2013 08:51

I need a swift kick to get my day started.

HellesBelles396 · 31/01/2013 09:07

ta da's
Smile got up with first alarm
Smile had a sit down breakfast with ds

to do's
-work
-clean kitchen
-reshine sink
-hotspots
-wm on
-hang yesterday's laundry

yesterday ta da's
Smile eventually up, showered and dressed
Smile work
Smile cubs
Grin bed
Smile sent laundry to dm's to put through tumble drier

HellesBelles396 · 31/01/2013 09:10

ooh, science in society is (very loosely) about how society and shape each other. I will probably look at the MMR scandal a few years back, how it is affecting the current vaccination programme and has led to a series of measles outbreaks around the country.

AdoraBell · 31/01/2013 12:51

Helles that does sound very interesting.

My dogs got fed last night, but not much else happened. I did unpick names off some previously loved school uniform though.

DDs had an early night, as well as resisting sleep DD1 has been playing the -I'll refuse meals and fill up on sugar while I think mummy's not l

AdoraBell · 31/01/2013 13:14

Not looking - game. ('Scuse sausage fingers) Last night she felt sick and washed out but is back to normal this morning.

Ta Da's

Up, roused DDs
Breakfast all round
WM on
Showered
Ignored bloody phone
Emptied kitchen bin
Dropped DDs at volley ball

Still To Do

Feed dogs
Empty and reload DW
Empty WM
Apply Canasten to puppy's snout
Prep house for fumigation tomorrow - this means put away what be can put away and cover what can't be. I must put plastic bags over my herbs
Lunch & dinner

I've signed up to Jillian Micheal's on line diet/excersise thingy. Can't get her Shred DVD here and I'm finding that without something other than OH's incessant nagging to make me accountable I just can't stick to anything.

liveinazoo · 31/01/2013 14:10

good luck with that adora
HB sounds like youve done loads-be kind to yourself and well done with teh kitchenWink
scout glad you had some time out and enoyed it!

ive been really in the right mindset the last few days so i hav resisted the urge to pop in and play for hours and cracked on

i have managed-
-bathroom;light cleaned, windows washed, tiles sparkling,bath/shower cleaned, floor, baseboards and radiator washed.decluttered the numerous empty bottles from window sill

dds room;
-rearranged all clothing between the reecntly built cheast of drawers and old on eplus wardrobe.have managed to add their bedding onto a shelf each so each child has own bedding in a pile where i can easily find it incl duvet tucked into pillowcasesbeds have been movedand cleared under, all furniture moved out and baseboards cleaned, light fitting cleaned, all switches and plug points wiped, floor washed, windows cleaned.

ds room;
lightfitting wiped, windows washed, bookcase shelves adjusted and large collection dinosaur cove books been takedn off downstairs shelves and put in there, bed moved and cleaned under.drawers/wardrobe sorted and his bedding added to a shelf, baseboards cleaned, floor washed, powerpoints and switches wiped

my room;
decluttered 2 binbags and now have a foot of space all way round bed

Scout19075 · 31/01/2013 19:38

Dettol used with almost boiling water should sufficiently sanitize a bin, right? SB was sick today not full on vomit as I think it was trapped wind because he let out a few almighty farts then sicked up the water I forced encouraged him to drink when he said his tummy hurt with one of them. He was right as rain after that. I managed to catch most of it in the bathroom bin but it wasn't lined like it normally is--. Also in the process I tossed the couple of nappies from the bin into the diaper bin (which also wasn't lined because I didn't get to it last night, which is why the nappies were in the normal bin not the nappy one) so I could use the normal bin to catch vomit. One of the nappies wasn't closed properly so I'm sanitizing both bins.
