Hi all, After a pretty rough ride last year (2012) I think I feel ready to start again with babysteps
So who's with me for the journey?

Old and new steppers are welcome!

Lets do this one small step at a time!

Shock at zoo's amazing lists!

I'm sure dettol will be fine scout

adora - will no-one ship the shred DVD to you? (Where do you live again?) - it is fab

AdoraBell · 31/01/2013 21:35

Bessie I've given up on ordering from abroad as they impose import duties and then postal delivery charges, then double it all for Gringos.

Everything is put away, rest will be covered up during the evening as Zi need some things out still.

Zoo well done on your mammoth list

Scout glad SB is feeling better and yes, the Detol will be enough.

I need to cook dinner and feed the dogs, then do two e-mails, then finish off covering things including my open

AdoraBell · 31/01/2013 21:36

Argh! Open

AdoraBell · 31/01/2013 21:37

Plan wardrobe.

HellesBelles396 · 31/01/2013 21:39

update:
nothing from list
Grin took ds out for dinner
Sad paid mortgage
Smile wrote project plan for OU module

seriously lagging as my perfectionism makes me want to not do anything rather than not do everything!

bessie26 · 31/01/2013 22:34

HB write a list. re-write it in priority order. rip everything under number one off & voila - you can do your whole list! Grin Have you read any of the FlyLady's posts on perfectionism?

which reminds me BabyStep 31 (the last one!)

off to bed now

AdoraBell · 01/02/2013 00:25

I'm on strike.

I've cooked, we've eaten, had some time with DDs. They've left craft materials all over the kitchen floor, DD1 has had a strop about DD2 being "the angel" because I pointed out the fact that DD1 wasn't supposed yo be on line, she was supposed to be in bed. So I'm watching a movie and ignoring anyone who is up passed bedtime, and the stuff on the kitchen floor.

I will feed the dogs tho, they appreciate what I do.Grin

educatingarti · 01/02/2013 17:02

I have done very little constructive household stuff over last few days - feeling Blush

Need to get on with some work this evening, but I'm hoping to find a bit of time to do a few household bits - even if it is just working out what are the most important things to do and emptying the dishwasher!

AdoraBell · 01/02/2013 19:54

Fumigation is done, now I need to wipe every surface and vacuum all round, and wash all the sheets used to cover beds & clothes. But, moving the dogs Teddy bear pulled me over. I landed on my knee with my foot extended under me. So I'm struggling a bit.

Lounge and kitchen are usable and first load is in the WM. We had lunch out and may do the same about dinner, depending on my ankle.

educatingarti · 01/02/2013 22:24

Adora - I don't envy you!

HellesBelles396 · 01/02/2013 22:42

feeling much mire motivated last couple of days. today's tada's:
Smile up, showered, dressed
Smile both fed
Smile both packed lunch
Smile work
Smile collected ds+friend from youth group
Smile supermarket shopping
Smile ordered bookshelves so spare room can get unpacked - and decluttered!
Smile cleaned & tidied kitchen
Smile went cobweb & dust hunting with new feather duster Smile
Smile 2xwm
Smile drying swapped on airer

just have to see now how much sleep we get ds+friend currently giggling and making hot chocolate. they are 2 hours into an all night lord of the rings marathon - based on prior experience, they'll be asleep by 12!

AdoraBell · 02/02/2013 01:12

Helles good luck with the pyjama party, last time I allowed one I had to call a parent to collect one at 3am and the others still awake at 6amShock I find myself oddly reluctant to allow another ever

Okay, last, for tonight, load in the WM has just finished. I think that's number 5 this eveningConfused.
Vacuumed throughout downstairs.
We've all eaten, picnic stylee. Dogs have had the roast chicken I had in the fridge as I forgot to seal their food prior to the fumigation.
Most of the house has been wiped, dining room can wait until the morning. As can the DW.

I need to put towels on the line even though it's dark now, and then rest my throbbing ankle. Dustbin is outside ready for collection in the morning.

I do believe I've earned a glass of port.Grin

HellesBelles396 · 02/02/2013 02:25

Tada's so far today:
Provided first aid to ds-bff who landed head first on corner of radiator
Took ds-bff (+ ds-bff-dm) to a&e
Took ds &ds-bff for McDonalds for 2am midnight feast
Dropped off ds-bff-dm and brought boys home
Collected and disposed of blood soaked tissues and paper towels
Started cleaning up blood in carpet
Decided "sod it!" It's already dry anyway - I'll do it when i've had some sleep

So doing quite well so far!

educatingarti · 02/02/2013 09:03

Helles - an eventful time!
I got some work done yesterday but felt very disorganised (too much mn browsing methinks!) so today I need to be more structured. I'm up and breakfasted and need to leave for work by about 9:40am so just off to get dressed and try and get my hair to do something sensible!

Meanwhile I'm going to back up my computer which is something I should have done weeks ago!

jesstheworstmum · 02/02/2013 13:25

hey guys... i was directed here from another thread :) looking for some encouragement to get on top of the day to day stuff (and all the other crap !)
xx

AdoraBell · 02/02/2013 15:12

Hello Jess and welcomeSmile

Bessie'Shock oh no, how did they manage to do that?

Not much going on here today other than DD1 whinging my ankle was about 4 times it's normal I've last night, now down to just 2X with a lovely bruise.

WM is on, DDs have emptied DW. Loads more sheets to wash, and DD1 needs to go out and get a cake for OH's return tomorrow.

bessie26 · 02/02/2013 17:04

Hi jess - most of us have been through fly lady's babysteps to get our homes under some kind of control. Don't whatever you do sign up for the emails. Or get carried away and do too much at once. Slowly slowly catchy monkey Grin

Will be back later - dinner is beeping at me!

HellesBelles396 · 02/02/2013 17:12

tada's:
Smile dealt with sleepover bloodbath (saltwater)
Smile got 5 hours of sleep
Smile put washing out for the first time this year Grin

actually, I feel like I've done nothing - my house was already tidy, I've just taken the odd thing back to its home and wiped and washes up after ourselves. weird but good! Grin Grin Grin

I did get a feather duster yesterday (can't remember if I mentioned it) and have had a lovely ten minutes dusting ceilings, lightshades and skirting boards with it Grin

the one exception to my tidy house is the dumping ground my study. overflowing with books and camping gear but no storage (it's not clutter - I have been sorting through it) but I ordered bookshelves and other storage shelves yesterday so by the end of this month, everything in there will have an accessible home Grin

educatingarti · 02/02/2013 17:14

Hey Jess - great to see you here! How has your day been going?

So since this morning Ive spent a bit too much time on mn before I left for work and ended up being late Blush
Come home, had lunch and watched a film on TV.
Dropped off a bag of stuff at the charity shop and done an Aldi shop.

Well I'm not going to win housekeeper of the year award am I!

Still the day afternoon evening is yet young!

Helles - have you started a thread yet about how to get dried up blood of a carpet?

educatingarti · 02/02/2013 17:16

off a carpet even! And yes I do teach literacy ( just not typing!)

bessie26 · 02/02/2013 21:11

oooh HB I have been thinking about getting a feather duster & am (sadly) very excited to hear that it is good for doing skirting boards!

I've done bugger all cleaning today - took the DDs to their swimming lesson first thing this morning, then got dropped off at the beauticians on the way back, where I had my hair done , brows plucked & a facial Grin and now I am updating my blog, watching TV & drinking Wine.... the vacuuming will have to wait until tomorrow!

HellesBelles396 · 02/02/2013 22:24

taking care of yourself is a flylady commandment so I think you're ok to use most of that as a tada Wink

no thread on dried blood CIS I found the answer on ehow but I did start one on drying clothes on the line because my first load of 2013 went out today Grin

bessie26 · 02/02/2013 22:39

You dried clothes outside HB? It was snowing here at 8am, hailing at 1pm, and raining randomly inbetween!

HellesBelles396 · 02/02/2013 22:50

it was 3c but blustery and dry - felt like winter was starting to end Smile

AdoraBell · 03/02/2013 02:10

YY to Not signing up for Flylady e-mails, I did and I've had 5 yesterday and about 7 today. To be fair they are making changes but, just don't!

Took DDs to the cinema this arvo, walking in we met DD1's boyfriend with friends of his and they were seeing the same movie. Afterwards we ate (without boyfriends) and then got the weekly shop done. It was a mistake, I'm suffering now. Still, I have the meat and fish for next week, and dog food. should only need to top up fruit and veg about Wednesday.

Other than another 3 loads of washing and the DW I haven't done any cleaning, and I don't plan on starting now.
