I have spent 15mins decluttering emails Grin & I am next to go in!!!

Eggrules · 11/01/2012 17:37

Carrots I don't remember your thread. Not sure why people get so nasty in aibu. How do you make veggie stovies?

I spent 1 hour de-cluttering and cleaning the bathroom. It is sparkling.

Have cleaned kitchen everyday - worktops cleared and polished, dishes done, cleaned hob, swiped floor and of course shined sink. Have done no actual de-cluttering though.

Had a ready meal from the freezer (counts as de-cluttering) and it was very nice (veggie lasagne). Perched ready to fluff and fold.

Just home after being out all day. ALL day. Nothing done. Eating some left over and watching tv. Need to breathe before I can think about jobs. However, TS and I had a lovely day out-and-about.

cairnterrier · 11/01/2012 20:21

Evening all.

Been at work all day so not a lot achieved, but have managed to get a load of washing on and wash DS's hair after he dunked it in custard at the childminders. Am now just waiting for my lovely DH to bring me a Brew and then plan what to do tomorrow. We've got a house inspection on Friday so need to make the place look presentable.

Hmm
carrotsandcelery · 11/01/2012 20:45

Hi everyone.

Vegetarian Stovies

Ingredients

Olive oil
4 veggie burgers - defrosted and diced
4 large potatoes - peeled and diced
1 large onions - diced
1 pint veggie gravy (possibly more)

Method

Heat the oil in a large saucepan. Soften the onions gently then add the burgers and cook for 5 or 10 mins. Add the diced potatoes and the gravy. Simmer on a low heat, stirring occasionally, for a long, long time until the whole mixture resembles brownish mashed potatoes and is quite thick to stir.

Serve with pickled beetroot, buttered oatcakes and a glass of milk.

There are lots of different ways to make Stovies but this is what I made today. It sounds and looks disgusting but it is totally fab.

Ds had seconds which says it all really Grin

I am so tired now I have the shivers so I am chilling for a wee while.

I am longing for some chocolate but trying really hard not to do it (maybe it is withdrawal that has given me the shakes Shock)

Dh is still at work so I am not doing the kitchen until he has eaten.

It sounds like a lot of good work has gone on today.

Scout how did you get on with the seniors?
bessie I hope you have no bruises.
cairn ask him if he will bring me one too please Grin
zoo you are a whirlwind - great work!

I should say that the above recipe only fed the 3 of us as ds ate so much today.

glad you had a good day out scout

cairn would crisis cleaning be any good?

egg/carrots I think people feel like they have to be nasty in AIBU. Luckily I am never U, so I don't need to post Wink

live have you heard of oven pride? I've never used it, but people rave about it on here.

Nursery told DH today that they want me to arrange settling sessions for DD2. I need to decide exactly when I'm going back

Scout19075 · 11/01/2012 21:03

Seniors was good, thanks for asking carrots. Even better since I didn't have to take TS (bonus!).

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 11/01/2012 21:04

The chocolates are for medicinal purposes! Wink

carrotsandcelery · 11/01/2012 21:07

Well if it is medicinal... but don't tell me that I had it or I will be annoyed Grin

OP posts:
BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 11/01/2012 21:08

They are GMF Wink (Not genetical modified).
Carrots I think you might work it out.
I may have to get my friend SJW out.

carrotsandcelery · 11/01/2012 21:11

cairn the crisis cleaning that bessie linked to does make a massive difference to those caught on the spot house guest/inspection problems.

If you keep flying, after a while, you find you don't need this method anymore but it is really handy at this stage.

carrots I will run you a bath and bring some sunglasses. Thanks for the stovies recipe. Are potatoes raw when they go in?

bessie starting nursery was worse than DS starting school. He was fine and it did him good.

Kitchen surfaces clean and floor mopped. Sink is shiny - I am done.

Going to try to walk 4 miles again tomorrow. Going to watch some sky plus - CSI series one, ep 22/23 (first timer). I am also recording that Mother thing on C4.

redlac · 11/01/2012 21:38

Evening all!
Why can't I be addicted to cleaning like I am with Facebook? I lasted all of 28 hours after deactivating my account :(

Not achieved much this evening unfortunately however I am off on Friday so will catch up with all the tasks then

carrotsandcelery · 11/01/2012 21:39

Egg a bath sounds sooooo lovely right now.

The potatoes are raw when they go in. They cook for a long time in the gravy though so disintergrate eventually.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 11/01/2012 21:43

redlac a lot of my closest friends live abroad now so there is no way I am deactivating my fb.

Can you work a 15 min system with your timer? That is how I get through the days (like today) when I don't feel motivated. 15 mins of jobs, 15 mins of mumsnet etc. It is surprising how much you get done, even if you feel like you have faffed all day.

I got ds's snacks & lunch for tomorrow done while the kettle boiled and then rewarded myself with a Brew and a kitkat [fail emoticon]

redlac · 11/01/2012 21:45

Iim just too nosy not to have FB :)

Right I'm off to do 15 minutes in that blooming junk drawer in the kitchen then one last cup of team before bed - thanks carrots for the prompt!

redlac · 11/01/2012 22:10

Junk drawer practically empty
Floor swept
Dog bowls cleaned
Last tea of the night being drunk

Night night all

carrotsandcelery · 11/01/2012 22:15

Well done red. Sleep well!

I have been feeling a bit SadSad lately, Depression is a cruel cow!
But I will not let it win!

I am going to do this, one Babystep at a time, I may need a few gentle nudges here and there and a few [brews] and chocolates (till they run out).

I don't want to drag any of you down. You are all doing brilliantly!!Smile

My first job to do is get some breakfast and another Brew.
