it looks a bit straggly & messy though, so might just get it cut shorter all over? Going long is not an option, neither she (or I) can be bothered with "doing" it in the mornings.

bessie26 · 13/01/2012 21:29

carrots where/how/why did you get hypnotised? [nosey]

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 21:31

If you do go for a fringe then you are then committed to regular cuts to keep it tidy.

If you do go for a fringe also make sure they don't take it from too far back on her head. A hairdresser did this to a friend of mine's dd and it was a total pain for her.

My dd had a fringe at that age and it was really cute. She has a touch of a cows lick so it stood up in one place which was extra cute. Smile

My DDs hair is in the same sort of style as your DDs bessie I would love her to go shorter but shes not for it unfortunately!

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 21:35

bessie I am Shock at you straightening your hair. I always picture you with really curly hair Grin

I am suddenly highly amused by how I picture all of you and how the reality must be so, so different!

OP posts:
bessie26 · 13/01/2012 22:06

hehehe, no I have short straight hair, with a bit of a long fringe - which is another reason why I'm not keen on DD1 having a fringe - I don't want us to look the same! The regular cuts needed for a fringe puts me off too Perhaps I'll just get them to cut it shorter all over?

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 22:09

veggie blog that bessie and others may like

I am struggling with this bessie - you definitely have long curly hair Grin

I'm back (With chocolates Grin)

Since I last posted I have:

Washed up x1
done cat litter tray
swept kitchen floor
Put some of dry washing in a pile
hanged wet washing

Time for chocolates !!

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 22:19

You rebelled against your inner rebellion BlackCat I am impressed!

The lovely lady who gave me the liqueurs also gave me 2 nail varnishes, a hand cream/moisturiser and a packet of tissues. It is not a special occasion for me or anything. How lovely is that?

Ooh a nice spiral perm rather than a poodle perm. Do you think perms will ever come back into fashion?

cairnterrier · 14/01/2012 07:51

Morning everyone

Sounds like you've all been really busy - I have done no missions but did pass our house inspection yesterday, hurrah! I went to our works night out last night which was really nice but ate far too much so spent the rest of the night feeling full, sick and with bad indigestion Grin That'll teach me!

So far DS has had breakfast ( I have no room)
Washing load on

Need to get to the supermarket and might try making those cheese muffins w DS this afternoon after his nap. Am not sure how much 'extra' cleaning I'll get done today as am feeling a bit zonked after last night. Still, it's funny what you get done when you think you won't.

Will check in later on to see how everyone else is getting on.

Eggrules · 14/01/2012 08:00

Morning. Dressed to shoes seems wrong at the weekend. So. Very. Wrong.

DS got up at 7 and he has eaten breakfast.

I am having coffee.

Taking ds to have story and make something in library this pm. No other plans.

To do:
Get dressed
I will do some washing/ironing today.
Carried forward kitchen floor/ cabinets to today.

Need to think about the rest...

bessie26 · 14/01/2012 08:09

babystep 14 - read this

We all had a lie in, would be great if we didn't have an EARLY hairdressers appointment!!

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 14/01/2012 09:00

Morning all,

I like today's babystep, this is a job I need to do as I have only filled in January so far.

I feel like my head is in a cloud this morning, Hmm I have had a headache since I got up and the DC are being noisy.
DD didn't sleep all night.
[Tired emoticon]

I need to:
have breakfast
get dressed

I will add more jobs later when my head is a bit more sorted!

Eggrules · 14/01/2012 09:30

Babystep 14 already done. I thought for a minute that BS14 was to have a lie in. I know know that the Bessies had a lie in and that 8:09am is late for them Grin.

I already have a weekly plan on the fridge for DS (and meal plan when I cba)

My calendar is up in the kitchen; if an event isn't written on it then it doesn't happen. This causes Mr Egg trouble.

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 09:44

Morning everyone!

Dh and I had a long lie - the dcs never do but they are old enough to get up by themselves now. One advantage of them growing up! Smile

I have decided that ds needs a haircut too, especially with the current visitors going around the school. The shorter the hair the easier to comb and presumably the harder it is for visitors to get in there. Dh is getting the job to take him and hopefully will decide he might as well get his done too [hopeful]

By chance I started on the step 14 yesterday. We have a great calendar this year with 4 magnets underneath it for notes etc which should help. I need to put a hook up to hang it somewhere handy though as it is just hanging around just now.

I am planning to do basic routines today and maybe some sorting of the Christmas boxes while dh is here to help me put them up in the loft. He is monosyllabic just now though so I won't ask just yet [yikes]

Hello, Anyone around ??

My head is a bit clearer now Smile.

I have done breakfast and got DD dressed. DH and DS go out on Saturday mornings so it is a lot quieter here at the mo.

How did the haircut go Bessie?

I haven't tried taking DD to the hairdressers yet so I trim hers at home.

Anyone want a Brew?

AngelsfromtherealmsofgloryDog · 14/01/2012 11:43

Hello everyone and thank you carrots for the message. I'm still here Smile although I'm afraid I've not managed to read any of the thread to date.

Some of our telephone equipment has been damaged and we've been without the internet for over a week now. Shock Shock Hmm Hopefully it'll be fixed next week but I'm not holding my breath.

It's good for my productivity, even if not for my sanity. Grin

I don't have a clever internet phone so I'm grabbing a couple of minutes at the library, although DS is not very happy about it so I can't stop to blather.

Hopefully I'll be back again in a few days.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 14/01/2012 11:49

YAY!!! Glad you are o.k. Angel, we have been very worried, even went on a search around Mumsnet for you!

Hope you get your phone and everything sorted.

Grin Grin

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 12:02

Yay! Angel I am so glad you are ok. We will patiently wait for your internet to be sorted out. I would probably literally have some sort of break down if I lost mine for too long and I would probably also eat the contents of the kitchen while I did it. We will be sending out "You will survive" vibes for you while you wait.

Dd has been a fantastic mini flyer, helping me lots this morning. We got all the Christmas boxes out of the spare room (where I sleep) and moved them into the hallway where there is more space and went through them, throwing out what needed to be thrown out and rearranging what needed to be rearranged. FINALLY!

It is all piled by the loft hatch in the hallway waiting for dh to help me put them up.

After that the next job will be to give the spare/my room a good clean and hoover. Hopefully by tonight I will feel like I am sleeping in a room and not a storage area.

I am ridiculously pleased about this.

I also thinks it counts as today's declutter, hot spotting and room rescuing. Grin

Meanwhile the dcs seem to have fully decluttered the fruit bowl so that will have to be sorted out at some point today. All we have is pears and a handful of blueberries.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 13:15

I am so chuffed. I have got rid of all the rubbish and recycling from the spare room, tidied the wardrobe shelves and drawers, dusted, hoovered and made the bed. It is lovely now. Dd expressed how lovely she thought it looked by diving onto the bed and got shouted at and had to help remake the bed.

It actually looks like a nice place to go to bed now.

I am gradually getting back to our pre-Christmas not too bad status.

Hurrah!

bessie26 · 14/01/2012 14:22

Hi all, great to hear from you angel

DD1 now has a bob & fringe. She likes it, I think she looks VERY cute, DH isn't convinced (yet), he says it makes her face look chubby (it is! Grin) I am finding it very scary how much she looks like a photo of me at that age!

Well done to those of you who have done stuff, DD2 has decided she likes to roll over in bed, then cry coz she's stuck, so naps have suddenly become very difficult.

DH & I usually get up 630-645ish everyday so I can get washed & get DD2 fed before DD1 gets up (otherwise DD2 is too distracted to feed) No idea why the radio didn't wake us this morning until 745! (the girls were both chattering to themselves in bed Grin)

bessie26 · 14/01/2012 14:54

While drinking a LARGE hot chocolate in bed, I've just booked myself 2hrs in a local Spa & a 30min treatment (I'm thinking back & shoulder massage) GrinGrinGrin and now I'm going for a nap
