Oh bessie that sounds wonderful. Envy I have had a massage before and it was fantastic. I hope you really enjoy it.

We are just back from a dog walk while ds was at an activity and a wee trip to Tesco. I have now got parsnips and sweet potatoes which seemed to be a big part of the recipes everyone was sharing this week.

I am off for a hunt for them now. Grin

Discovered I had saved the recipes onto word so I have found them. Who shared the butternut squash and sweet potato soup? I have put it in my blog but don't have a name to credit it too.

I am off to have a go at the parsnip and potato cutlets - they seem spot on for a Saturday tea.

Carrots I am Envy of your new bedroom. Mr Egg has been sleeping in the spare room whilst he was poorly and it was strange him being back in MY room Grin. My ultimate luxury would be a spa-like bathroom that only I could use.

Been out with DS and have put a chicken on to roast.

bessie I have never had a massage; what am I missing? I LOVE bobs on little girls. Vair cute.

I have bought stuff to paint under the stairs with. Washing in dryer. No other flying done but I will attempt a a checklist tonight. I am going to try to get dressed to socks tomorrow.

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 16:48

Egg I would much rather be back in with dh but, for now, ds is sleeping with either me or dh and there just isn't room for 3 of us in one bed.

That will hopefully be changing soon as we are working with a child psychologist to help ds overcome some of his problems and manage some of the others

This makes my life a bit more pleasant and luxurious while we do that though and means it isn't a major exercise if guests come either as the room would just need a quick dust and hoover and the sheets changed.

I am half way through making the cutlets zoo - I am interested to see how they turn out. They smell lovely Grin

I go to bed early and Mr Egg goes late. I can't sleep in the same bed as DS he is all over the place and kicks me.

Enjoy your cutlets.

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 17:01

Dh likes the idea of us both having our own suites, with bathrooms, dressing rooms, walk in wardrobes etc EACH and just the odd "visit" - like royalty Wink

It is beginning to appeal - as long as he swishes his own basin and declutters his own dressing room etc Grin

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 17:02

Imagine having a whole bathroom to yourself Shock T'would be lovely!

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 17:03

Egg does he wake you up when he comes to bed? If he does, you too need your own suite (with royal visits of course). In fact, I think we all do Grin

For now I will have to stick to parsnip cutlets and the spare room Hmm

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 17:31

Gah! I have completely stuffed up the parsnip cutlets! I had a "moment" and added about 5 times the potato I was supposed to. It only dawned on me when I got to making my tenth patty that I had far too much food.

I have instead made some very tasty potato cakes Grin The dcs will never know will they? I hope not as they will have these a few times before they are all eaten Blush

I have also discovered it makes delicious mash Grin

carrots you are so right. He wakes me and I get my own back by pretending to snore like a banshee.

I would get a Japanese bath - heated if possible

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 17:39

Oh yes! I will have one of them as well, with a shelf on the side for wine and chocolate and a stand holding my kindle with a voice recognition page turner so I don't have to let any of my body, other than my head, peek out from under the roasty toasty water.

I would also insist on a comfy headrest though.

I don't expect a lot from life really Hmm

Agree with all your suggestions and add candles and maybe have voice recorded books and a TV for watching fab films. I don't want to share.

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 18:38

Well the accidental potato cakes were yummy! Bonus!

Evening!
I've done so much today that I can't remember everything but my kitchen is the cleanest and tidiest it's ever been!
Finally sitting down for a Brew and planning a hot bath later.

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 18:49

Well done redlac. It sounds like the bath and Brew are well earned. Enjoy!

Hi all,
I've had a mixed day of doing a bit but also having a lazy day.

I have:
Got dressed (this morning Wink)
shined my sink TA DA!
Done some washing up
Put bleach down loo
and cooked tea.

Well done redlac on all your work today.

DD was so tired she fell asleep on my lap so we had to get her changed while she was asleep then carry her up to bed.

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 19:10

Awww! at BlackCat's sleepy dd. It has been a long time since mine were little enough to do that.

bessie26 · 14/01/2012 19:23

I want a japanese bath!

Separate bedrooms&bathrooms would be great - just imagine, no more boy mess or clutter in your bathroom! No more washing whiskers out of the sink!! and I would never ever ever go in his bathroom, if i don't see it, I don't have to clean it!!!

egg i've only had a few massages, mostly just head/neck/shoulder ones but they have all been very nice. The best one I had was an all over hot stone massage, but the last one I had was just a normal one when I was about 35wks pg and that was bliss!

Potato-parsnip patties sound yum. Just boring pasta & veg here tonight (DD1 loves it)

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 14/01/2012 19:24

She woke up at around 4.00am this morning so was very tired by 6.30pm.

I might pop back later as I need to go have a shower.Wink

bessie26 · 14/01/2012 19:26

Aaaaahhhh black that's so sweet!

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 20:09

I have had a hot stone massage too and it was mostly lovely but there were a few knots in my upper back and shoulders that were right on the border between pain and pleasure.

The thing I would really like to try is an Indian head massage. My Sil can sort of do them and does them for dd but I have never dared ask. It seems a bit too intimate somehow for someone I know, even though we are close.

Dh has put the dishwasher on and there are no lunches to make (yay!) so I think I am more or less done for the evening, although I may potter at a few bits and bobs.

I am having a Brew just now and trying to ignore the fact that dh is watching a Batman cartoon. Hmm

I hear a (very small) bottle of wine calling me. I MUST have an early night tonight, don't see how i can still feel weary even after several nights of good sleep, and a nap this arvo??? I suspect I'm not eating enough chocolate! Wink

carrotsandcelery · 14/01/2012 20:27
Grin

Is it too much sleep bessie? That can make you feel quite groggy.
