Ok So a new year a new thread.
You know the ropes flying the fledgling way.
Decluttering 15mins at a time in each zone.
Babysteps and missions.

Sunday is renew your spirit day and seeing as today is new years days I hope there aren't too many evil hangovers in existance.

Babystep 1: shine you shine. yes we know this one but do you shine it the fat fairy way? cant remember? check here

And for a treat as it is sunday no mission.

Oh and can i just may 2012 bring you productive decluttering and flying so your houses step closer to those of your dreams and house work no longer be that evil monster that dominates.

Happy New Year everyone, and thanks ICB for the new thread.

Had to pop in and say hello and thanks to people for their support. Made nice start of year reading for 2012 - so thank you!

Still going to try to stay off MNet during the day as it's never off my phone and one of my resolutions is to cut down on "gadget time" during the day. My excuse is that I need to keep checking my home for work emails, but I really don't/shouldn't have to do so.

So, plan is post here/scary thread in the morning when WAH job is bring done and then maybe if time (and DH coz he's good at sticking on films I want to watch Grin) allows post updates and personals in the evening.

Right, going to try to get more sleep now. Think I'll fail as my brain is too wired, but I can try.

{{unmumsnetty hugs to you all for 2012}}

PositiveAttitude · 01/01/2012 06:18

Marking my place here. Happy new year to you all.

Going away tomorrow, so lots of washing & packing to do today. Its a staff conference which sounds dead boring and like hard work, but really its wonderful. 5* hotel, all food done for me, time to myself as well as inspirational talks and discussions. Brilliant timing to give me a kick up the bum after Christmas. Can't wait! Oh and its with job number 2 and I am going with three of my colleagues from there who are all brilliant people. (A week away from job number 1, too!!!!) YAY!!!!!

If I dont pop back later today, I will "see" you all next weekend. Smile

Honu · 01/01/2012 07:49

Happy New Year and thanks ICB for setting up the thread. I don't usually do NY resolutions and never publish them if I do, but here is my one and only exception - I will declutter somewhere for at least 10 mins per day - this is so necessary, sounds so easy, and what I'm so rubbish at doing.

Confuzzeled · 01/01/2012 07:56

Hello, can i join? I've been watching the flying thread for years and finally joined fly lady last year. Not managed to do it yet but since it's NY I'm going to give it a shot.
Happy NY as well.

ToffeeWhirl · 01/01/2012 08:03

Very poorly today after forgetting to drink water or count my drinks or set a sensible limit or any of the other things you are meant to do when drinking Sad. Am drinking lots and have taken paracetamol. Am also feeling very foolish.

Happy New Year to you all.

(Oh, and hi Confuzzled)

IceColdBitchy · 01/01/2012 08:16

Tis ok toffee i havent even made it to bed yet. I am going to be majorly suffering and i bet later the mistakes in the op are going to really bug me.

Oh and one other thing who is icb? its bitchy please.

Honu i have resolutions but they are not flying ones. more sex, more sleep, less weight. in short. although there is a master plan in place for 2012 which does involve decluttering. Perhaps i should focus on the master plan rather then the resolutions Wink

Today I have got up, given DH half an hour to himself with a cup of tea, emptied the DW and dusted the little glazing bars on the porch door and the living room door (bit random but I had 5 minutes) and am now sitting on the bed with a beauty treatment on (think stopping myself resembling Tom Sellock rather than luxury!) before a quick shower and dress.

Today I want to:
Make bread
Wash spare bed linen
Hoover downstairs as DS has dropped "bikit" all over it Hmm
Make list of forthcoming plans for 2012 for stuff DH & I say, but never do - eg replace flooring in our ensuite etc.

Not a lot, but I am feeling all warm and positive! Back tonight with updates hopefully!

NickNacks · 01/01/2012 09:20

Marking place- back in 10!

elliepac · 01/01/2012 09:27

Have a good day everyone!

Marking my place!

coostoonettle · 01/01/2012 09:41

Happy New Year. Grin

Good morning. I made it to 4.30 last night and dc had an impromptu sleepover at nannys.

My list

Get up
Finish tidying clubhouse (think confetti party popper cannons x 5)
Shine my shine
Quick tidy round at home.
Walk round nature reserve if dc not too exhausted!
Chinese with inlaws

Have a lovely new years day.

IceColdBitchy · 01/01/2012 09:45

the moral of the story is dont sign into mn when you are about to head to bed as people get up. whoops.

Dillydaydreaming · 01/01/2012 09:45

Oh I always fall out of the nest lol

I have several things to do today.... and have not started any of them yet.

CheerfulYank · 01/01/2012 09:46

Wait...is this a different FlyLady thread?

I am confused! :)

NickNacks · 01/01/2012 09:57

Good morning Fledglings!! How are we all today? Welcome to 2012!!!!!! :) :)

I am feeling good. Lovely, romantic evening with DH, left to sleep in this morning and nothing on the agenda but getting the house straight and ready for the upcoming year.

Flying Hope Tom Selleck is nowhere to be seen now... :) I hope you are feeling better after yesterday. I've had a couple of dimwits post unhelpful responses on threads before but 9/10 are very lovely and helpful on here. I hope you stick around on this thread at least.

So todays list...

Empty DW and reload
Wash on
Tidy sitting room and hoover
Take extra dining table down
5 mins in bathroom
Change light bulbs
Paint nails
Hang washing
Clean clothes away

That will do for today- it is Sunday after all! Have a great day everyone.

Honu · 01/01/2012 09:59

Bitchy, yes I want (and need) all those and more, but the decluttering resolution is the only one with even the slightest chance of being achievable atm. Babysteps!

BlueEyesAllAglow · 01/01/2012 10:00

Marking spot. We're back home tomorrow when major de-cluttering of toys and loft will be required... Boys are impossible and need routines again!!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/01/2012 10:06

Morning all,

Just to try and clarify, this is the Fledglings thread that's been going on for ages with it's usual new thread for the new month. We did start another one, but didn't make it clear it was the ongoing one and so many new people came on board that it didn't seem fair if the regulars kept chatting amongst ourselves (would have looked clicquey). So this one, although still nominally about Flying is more of an ongoing chat one for those that have been on the Fledgling threads and know the ropes IYSWIM. We will stay on the other one ("If tidying your home etc") and try and concentrate on the Flying to help all the new people, but not clutter it up with too much chat.

Apologies to anyone who is confused!

elliepac · 01/01/2012 10:08

Words of wisdom from whoknows Grin

IceColdBitchy · 01/01/2012 10:12

Cheerfulyank yes there is more then one flying thread. sorry for the confusion. the other thread was not as intended and took a life force of its own. we have left that running and will be running two threads this month. the original that was intended and the monster thread. I fear we shall confuse many but that is why the title fails to contain flying in it to try to distinguish between the two threads. We are not trying to be horrid but in the past there have been many different groups of flyers and to have them all converge on the same thread was quite frankly terrifying. Things will settle down i am sure in the next few days. A system that is clearer will be establish and it will all make sense but as i have been up since yesterday i am incapable of much sense and with just waffle nonsense in the vague hope someone can figure out wtf i am on about. iyswim.

Blue Ds will be back into normal routine asap when he gets back tomo and i must finish stripping christmas decoration/putting new calendars up later. although considering i seem to be wired perhaps i might just give up for a bit and go do a few things today.

to do:
christmas stuff away
calendars ups
ds' bedding washed and bed remade
reorganise ds' bedroom furniture.
sleep
erm

CheerfulYank · 01/01/2012 10:18

Ok...well, which one should I be on? Can I join you, as you seem to be a smaller thread? Or would you rather I didn't? If you're trying to stay small and don't want new members I understand. :)

IceColdBitchy · 01/01/2012 10:23

Dont be stupid yank you have popped in and out of the fledgling thread previously and we are not trying to be exclusive just not lose sight of what the original thread was iyswim. tries to be diplomatic in not entirely sobered up and extremely overtired state

OP posts:
SilveryMoon · 01/01/2012 10:30

I wanna be on both!
I have trouble keeping up though, so not a good idea. I'll lay money on I'll fall off the other thread soon and just pop on every now and again to say hi.

CheerfulYank · 01/01/2012 10:33

It's 4:30 in the morning and I haven't been to bed yet. Stupid is my middle name right now. :o

So I'll stay with you.

I am in the blitz phase. Must clear shit before I can begin routines!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/01/2012 10:36

It's not that we don't want new members Cheerful, we have always welcomed people who have joined, it's more a place for chat than Flying, so if you were new and looking for serious Flying help the other thread might be better, whereas this one is more for chat (which may be Flying related too). I remember you being on Fledgling threads in the past.

It just didn't seem fair on all the new people who have presumably joined the thread because their house needs sorting out if we all start rambling on about our DCs, jobs, everything under the sun, which is what we usually do on the Fledglings thread but we didn't want to give all that up either, so thought it would be better to have separate threads this month. There was a fair bit of discussion about it at the end of our December thread.
