Ok So a new year a new thread.
You know the ropes flying the fledgling way.
Decluttering 15mins at a time in each zone.
Babysteps and missions.

Sunday is renew your spirit day and seeing as today is new years days I hope there aren't too many evil hangovers in existance.

Babystep 1: shine you shine. yes we know this one but do you shine it the fat fairy way? cant remember? check here

And for a treat as it is sunday no mission.

Oh and can i just may 2012 bring you productive decluttering and flying so your houses step closer to those of your dreams and house work no longer be that evil monster that dominates.

My timer is working on its own . I just found it counting up the minutes - it had started itself up 13 minutes ago. I pressed 'reset' to put it back to zero. A moment later it bleeped and reset itself to one minute (obviously it isn't following Flylady's timings Wink).

Now, if I could just get the house to tidy itself too, that would be spookiness worth having.

Thanks for the new thread, Linzer. I will go over and mark my spot right now...

LinzerTorte · 31/01/2012 13:50

That is spooky, Toffee. Just a shame that your timer doesn't seem to have the spirit of FlyLady controlling it!

Flying Mmm, muffins... we've got visitors coming tomorrow and I'm trying to decide whether to make muffins or brownies. Or whether just to go to the baker's.

Neenook Welcome back! Sorry I missed your post yesterday.
I try to go out running two or three times a week, but have only started running regularly again recently. I did the C25k plan early last year and was regularly running 5k, but then started having problems with my knee and took a break for a couple of months. I've just restarted C25k and am only on Week 2, but it does feel good to be getting out again.
Running never seems very appealing when I'm still in bed btw, but once I'm up I make sure that I put my running gear on and then go out after the school run. I have to go out first thing, though; if I don't go within 10-15 minutes of coming back home, I just don't make it out at all.

Right, have three kindergarten boys (plus DS) arriving for an English lesson in about five minutes so had better prepare myself for the onslaught!

BlueEyeshadow · 31/01/2012 14:17

Bitchy - how odd - I really struggled to find a 5yo card that wasn't too grown up. 4 seems to be the cut off for Thomas etc and after that it was all Ben 10!

Brr - I'm wearing 4 layers including a woolly jumper. Why am I still cold??! Glad it's not -7 here!! BTW, how do I convince a stubborn 2 yo that gloves are not the work of the devil, but lovely things that will stop him crying with painfully cold hands?! Confused

Oh yes, flying.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 31/01/2012 15:35

Yes, Ben 10 is regarded here as being for babies by the time they are old enough for me to think it is suitable, hence DS has never actually watched it. We're on a mission for an 8 year old's card with a badge later, DS's birthday coming up.

LinzerTorte · 31/01/2012 15:55

I've obviously been in Austria for too long as we never get the DC (or each other) birthday cards - and would struggle if we wanted to. I've never seen any with badges on here; I don't think you can get named ones for relatives very often either.

swan The English lesson was an utter nightmare; I don't know what the new boy must have thought. All three others behaved awfully. Am beginning to realise that songs involving body contact (holding hands etc.) are a no-go area - too much scope for pulling/pushing the others over. I would be quite tempted to give up the lessons if it wasn't for the two lovely mothers, one of whom has now taken both DDs off my hands (DD2 and her DD are best friends) and the other has invited all the boys over to her house for a couple of hours.

Blue Difficult one - I remember all three went through stages of pulling off gloves, socks, etc. This inevitably involves much muttering and well-meaning comments Hmm from total strangers. At any rate, they are very obviously Austrian rather than British children now as they insist on a hat in what I would consider mild weather and I have no problems getting them to wear gloves now. In fact, they'll probably be wrapping scarves round their necks when they have a cold before I know it.

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 31/01/2012 19:15

CheerfulYank · 31/01/2012 20:06

That's funny Linzer... DS just insisted he didn't need a hat (it's less than 2 degrees your temp here) and I agreed. It's a perfectly balmy day by Minnesota standards! :o

List for today:
-Get at least a few loads of laundry done and put away
-Redo whiteboard calendar for February
-Cook dinner
-Dog hair removal...must do!
-Take bin bag out
-Dishes
-DS ready for TaeKwonDo on time.

LinzerTorte · 31/01/2012 20:42

Good news on the DW, Dedalus.

Your DS sounds like my kind of person, Cheerful. Grin DD2 was wearing an extra cardigan when I picked her up from her friend's house this afternoon. This was apparently because her mother had heard DD2 sneezing. I did halfheartedly try to say that I didn't think she would have caught a cold just because she wasn't wrapped up warmly enough, but I've more or less given up trying to argue my case as I'm just never going to be able to convince anyone!

Right, off to post tomorrow's links on the other thread. Thank you for leading us through most of this month Bitchy and for all your hard work on the other thread Toffee. Thanks
