Now have a plan for the day.

AngelsfromtherealmsofgloryDog · 14/12/2011 07:58

DH's Christmas lunch today - DS and I are going too. Xmas Smile

Shower & dressed
Pack up stuff to take with us
Wash up
Hang out wet washing
Do another load of laundry
Fill in form / write cheque
Ring parents
Menu plan

Think that'll do given we're out most of the day.

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 14/12/2011 08:42

I am also going out for lunch today.

I got a lot of flying and Christmas card writing done yesterday.

Today I have:
Made packed lunches
Washed and nearly dressed to shoes
Swished the main bathroom.
Shown Ds his version of this definitely worth a look with those younger ones! Ds is 7 now and was nodding along to Santa.

To do:
Really nice walk with dog (clear cobwebs)
Buy stamps and post rest of cards
A little ironing
Usual dishes, worktops, laundry routines
Maybe a little bit more wrapping.

Had a Pre-Christmas Meltdown yesterday but hopefully I can pull myself together and get on with it today.Xmas Smile

Have now wrote all cards just need to stick them down, stamp and post them.
May attempt to do a bit of Christmas shopping today.
Also to do:
washing up
clothes washing
decluttering

Hope your lunches go well!

Do you have snow Carrots?
We have had none here but I think other nearby areas may have.

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 14/12/2011 10:21

BlackCat I know exactly how you feel. It all feels a bit overwhelming at times. I think the flylady approach: a list of to dos and then breaking it down into little steps is the way forward. It worked on the house. Just one little step at a time.

I have been distracted by chatting in the village when I was posting a huge pile of cards and then baking for my niece's birthday party and my friend's lunch today. Effectively I have made more mess rather than cleared up mess Xmas Hmm

I also made ds a packed lunch when it is the Christmas dinner at school today. [numpty emoticon] I have phoned the school to sort that one out. Thank goodness my dcs go to such a little school and they will deal with these things for us.

So... I need to tidy the kitchen, put on a wash, and then start on my list of bits and bobs above.

right.... focus..... so far i have

  • taken baby swimming
  • got my third load of washing on
  • had a shower

Next I need to

  • look respectable (going to DD1s xmas performance this arvo)
  • mop the kitchen floor (DD2 is currently throwing pureed fish pie and bits of toast all around the room )
  • go to performance

and later

  • check I have enough food in for the next few days (DH is out thur, fri & sat)
  • empty the cupboard under the stairs (carpenter arrives at 9am)
  • check the pile of xmas presents to see who we have forgotten to buy for
  • do some flying (cleaning)
  • write a prioritised list of what I need to do for xmas
AngelsfromtherealmsofgloryDog · 15/12/2011 07:46

Aaagh, I realised yesterday that I can't count straight and it's actually 10 days to Christmas, not 20. Eek! Xmas Blush Xmas Shock

No wonder people keep asking me if I'm 'all sorted for Christmas' - I thought they were just super organised types.

Today:

Toddler group Christmas party
Nap
Buy SIL's present
Make cards with DS for family
Write card to friend in Germany
Make cake / biscuits (we've reached crisis point with no cake in the house)
Tell my parents how long we're staying over Christmas
Write form & cheque
Clean high chair mat
Find something for dinner & cook it
Decide what foodie presents to make people
Try to stay off MN Xmas Blush

Hello all, Feeling a bit worried here.
I still have loads to do for Christmas but I may be stuck indoors today as DD is not very well! Sad
Am hoping I can keep DS off school cause I don't want to take DD out in the cold. AIBU?
She has had a fever and was sick and is sleeping a lot. Both the DC are asleep now as I haven't woke DS up cause DD is ill.
Just hope School will be o.k. about it.

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 15/12/2011 09:16

Morning everyone. Poor Blackkitten - sounds miserable. Would a friend be able to drop ds off at school and pick him up and take him home again? Are you somewhere he could go in a taxi and then someone at school could parcel him into a taxi home? I don't imagine missing one day at school at this time of year is going to be devastating but the school will probably mark it on his record as absent without permission. People do it for far less valid reasons though, like ski ing holidays, so I think a sick toddler is more justifiable. I hope she perks up quickly, wee soul.

Angel Eeeek!

We have ds's nativity this morning, then I am taking a friend to buy a pet and then I have my one and only Christmas night out tonight and nothing appropriate to wear at all. Eeek!!!

I phoned the School and they said if DS is well he has to come in.Hmm
So I phoned round the family and got DB to come and sit with DD while I took DS to school.

DD has woke up now and had some breakfast so fingers crossed she is getting better.

Carrots Hope the nativity goes well.
And have a good night out tonight.

Bessie Hope the oven fixing goes well today!

I am just going to potter around at home and look after DD today.

roastparsnipsandbrusselsprouts · 15/12/2011 12:12

I am glad you sorted something out for him BlackCat.

The nativity was lovely - clearly very well rehearsed and very cheerful Xmas Smile

I have been wrapping and think the dcs stockings are now finished. Yay!

I have few more wee bits and pieces to wrap and I will be just about there. I keep saying that and then something else pops up. Xmas Hmm My back is aching from it so I am taking a break.

bessie fingers crossed for your oven and carpentry work, but especially the oven.

I have got a Christmas tree up! Yay! It has some lights on it badly too. I did have to spend over an hour untangling A BRAND NEW set of lights to do it Xmas Angry but it is up and twinkling in the front window.

I will decorate it with the dcs so that will come later.

DD is feeling better I think. She is wandering around like she normally does and playing with toys. Her fever seems to have gone too Xmas Grin

I was in the kitchen washing up and she came out and said "Can I help" so I got her a chair to kneel on (She can't reach sink) and she played with the water while I washed up. I wonder if things are starting to turn a corner.(Not be so hard to get housework done etc.)Xmas Smile

DH should be home tomorrow so that should make things a little easier.

Carrots I know what you mean about tangled lights/decorations. We had similar problems when we did ours.
The DC love decorating the tree Xmas Grin
