You are all going to be so disappointed. My hobby is horse riding. Ta da!! I really wasn't trying to be coy. I didn't realise you were all so nosey took such an interest in fellow thread members Grin I am totally mortified that it is not hang gliding or rally racing or anything a bit more adventurous Blush

Oh Carrots you make me die Grin thanks for the description. I've never heard of it either.

gossip whos homework is this??? love your ideas and yes the mini tea service is just so tooooo much! :)

Oh I love you lot so much, you make my day! I've been so busy doing the house blessing day hour that I haven't had a minute to play so you've given me a good laugh. Didn't have time for the mission. I'm a SAHM and I still can't fit all this in!

Carrotsandcelery · 10/10/2011 22:05

should I am a SAHM and get flamed on the threads wondering what SAHM mums do all day, when I say I am overwhelmed by the amount of work needed to keep the house civilised. Grin I am in total awe of those with sparkly clean, tidy, clutter free houses.

Today I have:
Washed and dressed to shoes
Spent an obscene amount of money
Made tea
Done 2 loads of washing
Dried 1 load of washing
Folded yesterday's washing
Put most of folded laundry away
Set up 2 new bedside lamps Grin Grin
Ignored dishes
Done some more shopping on the internet Blush
Checked my ebay listings constantly to see if I can recoup some of the cash.

Hi all, I've found a great thread on Site Stuff and it's about striking through whole sentences like this:
--Look, I hope this works or I will look silly--
There are also other things on there like how to do a whole sentence in bold
Sorry I'm just excited cause it's new stuff I learned today.

Carrotsandcelery · 10/10/2011 22:34

Did it tell you how to link to the thread?

Carrotsandcelery · 10/10/2011 22:53

I was only teasing black and I think I have stumbled upon it anyway. I love it when I learn how to do new things on mumsnet. It is all such a mystery.

BlackCatinaWitchesHat · 10/10/2011 23:01

It's good learning new stuff isn't it. I only joined MN this year so it's all pretty new to me but good fun too!Grin
Have you been here long?

I better be off to bed now as ds has school tomorrow.
Bye for nowSmile

Carrotsandcelery · 10/10/2011 23:08

I joined about a year ago Black - maybe just less than a year. I still feel like a complete outsider but I learn a little every day.

Sleep well. I am still waiting for dh to come home from work. He started work at 8.30am Shock

Carrots they only have clean and sparkly homes because they and there dcs are never effing in it !!!!!!!!!!! work and childminders eh, my home was lovely when I worked the only thing I had to do was wash clothes wash pots and cook tea my neighbour mowed the lawn for me as I was never in and ds1 was on his own and him being a neat freak and only ever bothered with one toy(why oh why didn't i see this as a problem??), tidying was never an issue (ds2 IS the mess maker!!!)

Carrotsandcelery · 10/10/2011 23:26

Thanks Gossip. My house was a tip when I worked as well though - that said dd was much younger and more containable. I think the power of two dcs seems to make more than double the mess though - plus we didn't have a dog then so there wasn't hair and kibble everywhere.

Dd is currently asleep in my bed with the dog alongside her. I am considering pitching a tent in the garden just so I can sleep on my own for once. I have given up the dream of getting to sleep beside my own dh long ago Hmm

Morning all! How is everyone today?

So far today I have:
Hung a load of washing
Put another load of washing on
Dealt with a dead guinea pig Sad
Brought the other guinea pigs inside for the winter (prepare for the pong)
Lazed about in the bath and dressed (although no shoes on yet)

And dd is hoovering the car as I type Grin

Still to do:
Decide which shoes to wear - grand choice of trainers or long boots - and put them on.
Inspect car
Load dishwasher
Clean worktops
Declutter table (will get dcs to help)
Fold a basket of dry laundry (will get dcs to help)
Get dcs to tidy up their toys a little
Make lunch
Go and get my dparents for an afternoon out at the cinema Grin

Missions are on hold for me while the dcs are on holiday. I am on the basics for now.

Morning all, I haven't managed much yet as I had visitors turn up this morning.
I am going to have an early lunch today as I am feeling hungry!
Right I'm off to kitchen in search of food (have ran out of bread).
Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit

shouldbeelswhere · 11/10/2011 11:41

Morning all. Breaking news DH shined the sink last night!!!!!!!!!!!! and swished and swiped the bathroom sink before coming to bed!!!

Re DS2 being the mess maker. DD is our mess maker however she is much better since I've been making a monumental effort to be tidy. She even mentions hot spots when playing. Am I becoming obsessed? Hmm

Carrotsandcelery · 11/10/2011 11:49

Should that sounds like excellent progress. I think it works best if everyone gets involved.

Dd is being a great help here but ds is being particularly awkward and unhelpful.

Gossip I am starving and because ds is being unhelpful we can't get out to the shop for bread and butter to make some lunch.

shouldbeelswhere · 11/10/2011 11:54

Carrots you'll have to let me know how you manage to keep on top of things when you've got the DC home. We've got that next week and the week after. Should I just take them out of the house from dawn until dusk?

Carrotsandcelery · 11/10/2011 12:22

How old are yours again should? I think age makes a big difference. The older they get the more they (should) understand that if they help you with X then you will have time to Y.

Well after yesterdays none motivation (not doing well this week), and a meltdown of large proportions last night, I (surprise surprise) didn't fly and this morning I jumped in the shower sorted kids, did the school run went on my course and my adorable (sarcastic emoticon) decided to invite a lady (who's name I am unaware of) from the course, back to my chaotic house for a cuppa, as she felt she needed to talk to us as she has no one to talk to about her asd son, like I say adorable!! however as she has 3 kids, one being a asd son, she wasn't too fussed, no matter how embarrassed I was. aaahhhhhhh!!! I then had a meeting with school nurse at three, and ds1 was at an after school club till four, so I had to hang around until he came out, went to nans, came home, cooked a very unhealthy pizza and chips, but had to do a quicky due to ds2 being so knackered he's literally about to drop, I'm going to get off mn and do some much needed flying and I'm doing it room by room, I'll see you all later. Grin

AngelDog · 11/10/2011 21:39

How are you getting on, Gossip?

Carrots, hope DS gets more co-operative soon. :( about the guinea pig.

I've been out all day and was exhausted when I got home so all I've done is cook dinner and put the washing on.

Oh, and I listed an advert for some nappies, which is a big step in the decluttering direction. :) Now I just need someone to buy them.

I'm about to:

  • hang out wet washing
  • wash up
  • deal with wet dress from yesterday
  • go to bed

Tomorrow is another busy day - need to go to the market and take my sling round to a friend to try out. In between I need to work out how on earth you use it for a newborn rather than a toddler!

bessie26 · 11/10/2011 22:09

carrots sorry to hear about the guinea pig Sad

angel try looking on YouTube, I looked there when trying to work out how to use the sling I bought (and then realised it was missing a bit )

Today I have

  • been swimming with DH & DDs
  • eaten lunch out
  • watched DD1 trying to ride a bike [proud]
  • drank a (very small) glass of wine in the sauna
  • ignored the pile of washing mounting up in the corner
Carrotsandcelery · 11/10/2011 22:14

That sounds like progress Angel - did you list them on ebay? I ebay a great motivator on the decluttering front, although I am currently learning not to have things finishing while the dcs are on hols (makes note to self)

I am Sad Sad about the guinea pig. He was born here and hand reared and a real star of a guinea pig. He was also old and sick though so I suspect it was a relief for him.

Gossip that sounds like quite a day. There are folk I can have round while the house is chaos and folk I can't. I like the folk I can the most Grin

I made a bit of progress on the house whilst out today as I bought dd a canvas pop up laundry bin for her soft toy collection. Hopefully she will use it!

Awww! Well done mini bessie on her bike. That image has cheered me up.

OP posts:
AngelDog · 11/10/2011 22:59

Thanks for the YouTube tip, bessie.

Carrots, I used a second hand nappy site as the listing is free and Ebay doesn't let you sell second hand nappies. Hmm

I need to do more as the nappies we have don't work for DS at all, but I daredn't buy any more till I've sold off some of the old ones. :)
