Woohoo Ali!!!!! Grin

Link for boob bracelet?
I fancy getting a BF necklace with nice chunky beads, but worried it will fall apart when DD pulls on it. she does have a good go at beating me up some feeds Hmm

Namechange - well i've fancied one for ages, but not allowed JKS as it's already taken. Really I want a totally new one, JKS came about when DS1 was heavily into Finding Nemo. I think time has moved on but can't think of anything else that sums up my life. So, going with the hairy trucker theme for now!

This week:

  • lots of gardening/pruning; More pruning DONE
  • jetwash the patio & furniture; Done side of house & driveway
  • shopping & planning for BBQ on Sat; Started
  • unsold stuff to charity shop (DH has found a women's refuge place that we'll donate to now I think)
  • wash readybed cover & return for Fri (doh not done in time)
  • strip spare bed & wash covers & remake
  • TQs from DS1 (only 9 to do as some done back in May)
  • pay handyman for fixing downstairs loo/book him in to clean gutters
  • sort out big cupboard in kitchen DONE
FRI - shoe shop x 2 boys FRI - farm trip with picnic lunch

Ongoing:

  • Find new dentist that is taking on NHS nervous patients for me/investigate private; DH thinks his will take me on too
  • order blind for kitchen side door
  • pictures to label 'animals' & 'people' & 'cars' boxes
  • see if any toys can go/be put away
  • watch Prison Break DVDs & give back to PIL; Started; Done more
  • clean oven; Bought Oven Pride
  • bathroom needs a blitz; Shower head descaled; kids step washed & stored; Shower grout scrubbed
  • check length/take down/shorten front door curtains & store in vacuum bag until winter

JKS - you can get proper BFing ones made with industrial strength twine. Got mine off ebay I think. T gives me and it such a battering, it saves me a few scratches!!!

Oooh thanks Ali, now just to decided which one!

Did a big post and lost it before, but time is ticking along, jobs aren't Hmm

Am now on a new strategy, just hold on with basics until boys go back to school, then tackle lots of the ongoing/big/sorting out jobs that need doing when there is relative peace in the house :)

Bloody kittens both shit on the armchair this morning Angry They are litter trained so my guess is something (a child probably) spooked them. They are still very cute though, although terrified of us! Kids have named them Moth and Daisy. Moth is a lot braver and has been exploring and out playing a lot, Daisy just hides under the kitchen cupboards. need to block that off somehow cos she fell down the space next to the waste pipe yesterday.

So today have mainly been washing soiled sofa covers...

JKSLtd · 23/08/2011 14:07

freak - meant to say not to bother dusting the other day as the kittens will go into all the little spaces and dust for you :)
Love the name Moth btw.

Damn you jks now I'mgoing to have to as well

Canistaysane · 24/08/2011 15:59

Can anyone join this thread?
I just wondered as I am very good at procrastinating. I am trying to change but really struggling today.

anonymousbird · 24/08/2011 20:11

Ciao peeps. Been away - seaside and mum's. Back til the weekend then whooooooooooooosh, "leaving, on an airplane, not sure when I'll be back again...." My one week of proper bloomin holiday a year starts Sunday. Sunny Portugal here I come.

Canistaysane - yes, all welcome! Though I've been a bit of a useless participant recently Blush (tragically I can even procrastinate about procrastinating) and won't be back in action properly for a couple of weeks (coinciding with DC returning to school) just dipping in quickly to say hello. Hope you stick around.

Hope all are well, sorry have not read back up very far (though Ali - congrats on the potty training and JKS - great praise to you for dentist appointment).

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 25/08/2011 15:32

Ooh well done JKS! I really need to sort one out too.

I'm just treading water until DS1 is back at preschool. 15 blissful hours per week with only one child to look after!

Today I have shopped online for new winter clothes Grin Combination of BFing and weightloss means I have very little to wear.
JKS - I don't know if you're looking for things, but Fat Face have got quite a few tops, tunics and dresses with buttons down the front so ideal for BFing, and not too pricey.

Anon have a lovely time. We are going away in the middle of October and I cannot wait, even though we are going away with MIL and great-MIL so we won't be entirely able to do our own thing, it will still be a lovely break.

Afternoon all
Went on date yesterday... he turned up with flowers and home made truffles for me Shock. Not great though, didn't fancy him at all and there was zero chemistry...was all a bit awkward. He was nice enough but not for me. Am starting to think I will never meet anyone I actually fancy!

Lazy day today Smile

FreakoidOrganisoid · 26/08/2011 14:38

And can I ask what you think of the liatorp range in ikea...I have been saving for a tall bookcase to replace broken billy and a tv stand but can't decide if I like this or if it's a bit twee! Opinions please!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 26/08/2011 15:15

Freak it is a bit twiddly for me, would look good with those bunks you got for your DCs though? Does it go with other things you have?
Also - it is v.expensive for ikea isn't it?

We are confirmed Billy fans in this house, we have 7 GrinGrin

Shame you didn't fancy him, homemade truffles sound fabulous!! Might he grow on you or is it a total non-starter?

OP posts:
FreakoidOrganisoid · 26/08/2011 16:16

yes that's my worry ali...i really want something plainer I think. I have ektorp sofas which I love cos they are squashy and comfy but together with the liatorp stuff would probably all look a bit old fashioned and country! Will probably go for a tall billy, the liatorp is taller and wider though so would fill the alcove better (and have more room for stuff!)which is what drew me to it! Can't find a tv unit I like ANYWHERE, I just want one with drawers/cupboards so I can use it for a bit of storage as well (tv is currently on a coffee table).

Date was a total non starter-I didn't fancy him at all when we met before but thought I should give him a chance but yesterday just confirmed it.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 26/08/2011 18:01

What about the Hemnes bookcase? It is bigger than a Billy I think, comes in white, but is less frilly and half the price of that liatorp.

That is a shame about the date. It is very hard to find a nice man who you fancy too IME. Until I met DH nearly everyone I fancied was an arsehole, and everyone who fancied me I thought was a twit Blush

Hello CCGrin

Freak - we were in Ikea on Saturday and i looked at the liatorp. It is not that twiddly in the flesh, but isn't wood -it is a weird plastic/foil kind of material and a bit horrid to touch. Like kitchen units I suppose. V.odd.
